It takes most people years to refresh or completely redo a home. My husband and I lived a lifetime before we finally redid our two bathrooms. It was done when we retired. 😂

Oh lovely lady sooooooo glad you're back. Our renovations have now struck the two bedrooms where we chucked everything to be sorted later 😮 we'll it's now later and am in full swing in 10 minute increments of sorting and decluttering. It's amazing how much you can achieve. The rest of the house is sparkling thanks to the Diane's way as hubby calls it. Never underestimate the positive effect you have on so many people. gorgeous! all of it! Thank you for keeping it real with everything. Life does "evolve" and it changes ad your kids age as well. When my youngest was born, I had a changing table in my living room! There was no way I could take my eyes off of the older two in order to go into the nursery to change her. Luckily that only lasted a few years.
Shannon you and your husband have really improved your home a lot. I love that you’ve done all the improvements yourself. It helps to have a handy husband! I love that you are doing things a little at a time so you don’t get into debt. My husband and I renovated our house just like you two.
I’m a new subscriber and are looking back on some of your older videos. So much respect for you and your husband. I feel like so many people think they need to go to college for degrees that will not sustain them for the future and skills like car mechanics, plumbing, electrical, roofing, finish carpentry, etc. are just being lost. We recently had some remodeling done and our contractor told us that it is so hard to find skilled workers or even people willing to apprentice. Also, we lived with linoleum in our kitchen for 20 years. It was textured as well and it was never clean. Finally, just last year we got LVP installed in most of our home. Thanks for this dose of reality in the home improvement world.

I actually do have my bachelor's degree, and my husband is a master carpenter with an official training certificate in NZ (where he is from) but I do agree with what you are saying. There are many ways to make a living without a degree. For me, the learning never stops but that's because I love to learn new things and most of that is from hands-on experience as you mentioned. =)
What a beautiful and realistic (affordable) renovation to each of the spaces! Personally, I would die to have old wood floors (we just get concrete slabs in AZ). Resand and stain with a medium-light gray (for your color preference) then seal. Save money and get fresh ‘new’ floors… Whallah!!

The end of your videos come very quickly and I find I have to rewind it to enable me to "like" it, which I know helps you. So I'd just say do your "thank you for subscribjng" a bit earlier and add a reminder to like the video, I think it could really increase the number of likes you're getting and really help you out. He’s in San Diego so similar climate maybe a bit more coastal but you’ll love his ideas and knowledge. I retired to North Carolina but I grew up in Southern California and we always had lemon and lime trees in pots. Mint is invasive and takes over so that’s another I planted in a pot. Hey, Gordon Ramsey renovates a whole place overnight on Kitchen Nightmares! lol Seriously, tho, our first home was def a fixer upper. We worked on it for 11 years, and then had to move. Some young woman with a little boy bought it. It sold immediately. It was a lot of work but ended up looking great! I really enjoyed this video, and your home transformation over the years. I like all of your videos. It is cool that you involve the kids, and your mom and you have fun together.

Just a hint I go to goodwill or yard sales buy art work and reframe it ! Artwork makes a home
Suggestion for the mint corral it in a chimney flue and put it deep in the ground so the roots can't spread so easily
