I have to drive an hour to get to a public outdoor range, Kinda sucks, but on the plus side the tourists and dumber city dwellers don't crowd it out on the weekdays, at least.

I think on the front sight windage adjustment it's easier to say you move the sight towards your impacts. Hitting left? Move the sight to the left. Thanks again for another video Klay!

I think I've said it before but I will say it again... Thanks Mr. Klay for doing solid education and all-around love for the Kalash. Once you dig into an AK and not just write it off (as most American shooters do) - you get hooked. It's just a fantastic rifle that represents utter perfection for it's goal.

My first fighting rifle was an AK i bought back about 8 years ago when i was 20 and while ive learned alot and dont consider myself new to the platform especially after owning so many since then, i love watching beginner guides and seeing how these videos get better and easier to understand ober the years for said beginners. Great video. Alot of common sense answers but definitely worth its weight in gold. I would say for a video about advanced iron sight shooting, it would be worth it to talk about resting the entire front sight on top of the rear for very close ranges. I think that would have a practical use for guys in iron sight division in competitions.
My 10/63 has romy G furniture with a Chinese grater and a combloc PK-A sight on it(sling and light too of course) and while it a vibe(bit heavy of a vibe lol), there is just something so beautiful about just a standard AK that makes me wanna take all of it off and run it slick again.

It’s good to see new people drumming up interest for AK’s because more people need to learn how to operate and maintain these awesome machines. I think this is a must needed video for a lot of the newer guys out there. I learned alone, on my own and man has it been a rough road! Looking back on it and watching this video, I would have progressed so much faster for sure! The sight block got me... I also had an over gassed rifle sent to me, and man I pissed off some elder gentlemen my first day out. I dumped an entire magazine about 20 feet down the range table just pelting them all with steel cases... I highly suggest the hockey net style brass catcher out there to the new guys! Whether you make one or buy one, keep a spare on hand! Thankfully though, they were cool and after I had shot the magazine, they grabbed my shoulder and presented me with one. Phew, what an embarrassing encounter! Don't be that guy! Soon after I learned about gas adjustment, which became my first modification. Great lesson learned!

A shop a little over an hour away from me thankfully lets me take AK's apart, check mag fitment, do an overall thorough inspection and I'm greatful for it. In my area there are mostly less than optimal AK's available. But that one small shop gets the good stuff. Love the content of your channel, great way to pass time when I'm cleaning or swapping some accessories around on my AK's! Nice introduction video covering the basics of AK ownership and earned my subscription. I bought my AK about 7 years ago when it was hard to find decent ones in stock. There was a local company manufacturing them at the time who sold through a well known on-line AK distributor but it seemed they were always out of stock. I resorted to looking up their address and actually visiting the factory. They had a small business office in front with some rifles on display. The chief production engineer came out and greeted me. After telling him of my interest in purchasing a rifle, he went back and selected one out of production and sold it to me. The owner came out and introduced herself and explained the lifetime warranty. This rifle was spot on out of production and all I've added is a sling, red dot and more mags. It may have been my best gun purchasing experience so far and the AK is very fun to shoot and one of my favorite rifles.

Hey bro KLAYCO47 !! There is 1 thing missing in your AK selector Switch lever , its the third notch that 3rd selector hash mark on it that put the rifle in safe position.
It retains the selector switch retained to the receiver of the gun . So the selector doesn't disengage when you slide it all the way up when the top cover is removed....
Edit : the select lever doesn't overrides when that *safe position* is made engraved on place where it suppose to engage safety.
You can see that on Soviet AKs , Romanians , hungarian and some more ...

Good stuff. I got my first two Davranov chest rigs in the mail just yesterday, one for AK's and one for AR's. They're pretty expensive, but wow they're really nice. They look like artwork and seem like they'll probably last for 100 years if you take care of them. I got a Zastava m90 a little over a year ago when russian ammo got banned. I love the m90, it's one of my favorite rifles, watched all your videos on it. Got mine when you could only get it with the gross magpul and hogue plastic trash on them. But, I ordered a walnut m70 furniture kit and stained it dark walnut and rubbed a bunch of coats of boiled linseed oil into it. Turned out gorgeous. It's a tack driver for an AK, shoots as good groups as any of my AR's.
