I think you should make an episode taking the Century AK to Brandon for repairs with no idea what went wrong. He should probably clean it for you too.
just a little calculation : the sound takes 0,384 s to travel from the 100y plate to the camera. The speed of sound given the approximate temperature in the middle of the day at the date of the video (24°C/75,2°F) is 345 m.s⁻¹(~1132 fps) so the sound takes 0,265 s to travel from the plate to the camera, which leaves us with 0,384-0,265=0,119 s which is the time of travel of the bullet from the gun to the plate, which gives us a speed of 768,7 m.s⁻¹ = ~2522 fps which is quite high for an AK. It's really good

I remember the story of when Mikhail Kalashnikov was invited to the US to meet Eugene Stoner. Stoner was talking about the AR-15 going through a 10-foot drop test and how the rifle passed it. when I studied in the USSR as a designer of radio-electronic equipment, we were taught that in general ANY wearable electronic device must withstand a fall from a height of more than 1 meter. 10 feet is very small.

I mean, it's century, they figured out long ago how to make dry water. Probably why they can be confident sending the rifle to Matt when we isn't even gonna pour glitter into the guts of the gun, but dumps it on the left side for some reason

Hey Matt, after watching your video I decided to try your Demoranch lube for myself. It really did a fantastic job at oiling up my gun. But I have a few complaints. For one, I'm not a big fan of Ranch and I would appreciate it if you could offer a French ranch version of your product. Secondly, it hurts to pee now. Maybe this is user error and I should be more cautious when applying demolube to my gun in the future. But overall this is just a minor complaint and nothing a urologist can't fix.

Actually old com block armorers kits have devices where you can fixate for example the gas block to hammer it back into shape. The Ak would still be servicable after a visit with the field armorer. 1 hour work maybe
The rivets would have to be replaced because as it was there its just a matter of time before a catastrophic failure

With those sheared front trunnion rivets I wouldn't be willing to be close to that AK firing even behind that plate. The front trunnion was probably only being held in by the bent receiver at that point.

@@PurpleCh4lk it’s an army joke, since they are usually the ones running point and up in front of the group. The main reason for this being that when shots start getting fired, you don’t want to be anywhere near that guys line of fire, as he’s going to open up a literal hailstorm of return fire.
They’re usually packed full of ammo, pissed, and looking for a reason to quite literally lighten their load. So they’ll cut down a damn forest if it means getting their team to safety, etc.

I love your vids man that was sick. I was worried when you put the ranch on the bolt because I’ve seen instances on SKS rifle where cosmoline could make the firing pin stick and the gun could runaway in full auto. Very impressive.

Unlike some people here I have no real issue with American made, but century arms doesn’t have the best reputation for AKs. This one still functioned after being dragged around, albeit more like a bolt action. Brandon went surfing on one of his and it functioned fine. Less speed admittedly but he was putting his weight on it the entire time.

You should test outside materials on a home, not just drywall. Been hearing a lot about random bullets striking innocent people in their homes. Test how safe it is to have a brick home vs stone, siding, wood, stucco, etc. Would be interesting to see how they hold up.
