I love the torture tests! After you do several you should take all the guns that “survive” the test and make a video of you destroying all of them completely
It's like a bolt action rifle. Since the rounds are not loosing any power to cycle the next round the projectiles possess a lot of power and velocity and thus can be used as a sniper rifle, same way as bolt action rifles. It's actually a smart gun if you observe nicely. It just has a different way to cycle the rounds, diffrent feom bolt actions, but results in the same way.

Yeah theoretically in CA you could have an AR with normal grips, and normal magazine operation (though still only 10 rounds) if it was bolt action. Pretty dumb solution, really a bandaid, to the problem of government overreach

I still dont understand why a pump action AR isnt cool. Great range toy, as well as a good suppressor platform. Matt may've been wrong on that take (as evidenced by the 76-24 ratio)
Its because this thing exists because of restrictions of peoples rights. Without restrictions like in Australia this gun wouldnt sell at all. Its an objectification of compliance with restrictive gun laws
Its dumb fkin gun, thats why. Its just cringe abomination made to avoid gun control laws, not something cool at all. Like some kind of cope gun for people with limited access to guns. I would understand that but still you could still buy semi auto AR in gun controlled countries, just lazy fucks usually dont want to work towards getting permit so they buy things like those to cope. If you cant abolish gun laws then at least exploit what you have to get proper guns instead settling on this cringe.

This gun was made for those people for sure! I've handled one, and the action is really slick! It seemed to be very well-made too. 300BLK would seem ideal for this one.
Probably Cali commie compliant also
It has to be quality built though lol. This one isn’t quality
But yes it makes a lot of sense I agree!
It's also really popular in countries like mine in which semi autos are regulated but manual action less so
5:15 something else came to mind
You make fun of that gun but it's probably the only AR pattern rifle I'd be able to buy in California without a fixed mag
Just buy one without a pistol grip.
haha california
@@mysteriousdisappearance yeah that's cool, still has to have a fixed mag
Go featureless and you can have removable mags
@@ephemeraldrift9599 build my own and don't take them out of the house and I can have whatever I want... And lucky for me Bidens new gun grab doesn't effect existing firearms, good thing he's not the brightest
There is one added benefit to that rifle.. since there is no gas system, you're not losing velocity down the barrel. Kinda makes it like a bolt action.
Probably sufficient to describe it as manually operated
There's an insignificant amount of loss for an auto vs a manually operated action. So still it's a lousy AR.
10 to 15 percent can be significant based on use.
@@mattking4483 except it isn't as much as that.
@@mattking4483 it's nowhere near that. It's generally within the standard deviation of a given load.
I love the torture tests! After you do several you should take all the guns that “survive” the test and make a video of you destroying all of them completely
That sounds like a medieval witch test, where you first try to drown the accused woman and if she survives that, you put her on a pyre
When's the next hubby and wife challenge!!!! We love yall!!! Great job💯👍🏼👍🏼
You need to take that into a gunsmith and tell them you want it cleaned!!! that would be a funny reaction
Send it in for repair
It's like a bolt action rifle. Since the rounds are not loosing any power to cycle the next round the projectiles possess a lot of power and velocity and thus can be used as a sniper rifle, same way as bolt action rifles. It's actually a smart gun if you observe nicely. It just has a different way to cycle the rounds, diffrent feom bolt actions, but results in the same way.
thank you for that info. I wondered for sometime what the big difference between bolt action and semi auto was but never looked it up
I would love to see you do a video on medieval crossbows, a blow dart gun, and other various weapons. Can a medieval crossbow shoot through a plate of armor?
no a crossbow can not go through plate lol. it barely cuts into kevlar. its less powerful then a .22
@@umbreona4559 are you sure with that kevlar thing? i think i saw a video thats shows a bolt / arrow going straight trough a kevlar vest (without a plate just pure kevlar) so i think depending on the strength it has a chance.
What kind of armor? What kind of medieval crossbow? There are many kinds of both.
@Erik Jessen Look up Skallagrim's channel. In an older video he featured medieval and modern crossbows where he also shot a steel plate.
Not likely they may poke in but they aren't shooting through. Plate armor came about because bolts and arrows can get through lighter armors.
Something about a pump action .223 is.. incredible!! 😂😂
It seems (well before you destroyed it) to function pretty well. To those of us in gun friendly states it might seem dumb but if you want some kind of AR platform and live in CA......it's an option.
Yeah theoretically in CA you could have an AR with normal grips, and normal magazine operation (though still only 10 rounds) if it was bolt action. Pretty dumb solution, really a bandaid, to the problem of government overreach
We didn't say you could not destroy it after you pimped it out. We also didn't say you could not unpimp it before you torture test that thing into the ground. 🤘
I honestly thought he was going to keep everything on it while torture testing. Not gonna lie I probably would've cried if he did 🤣 that was a lot of money put on that thing lol
@@tristanmack5779 Lol, true that! 🥲
I still dont understand why a pump action AR isnt cool. Great range toy, as well as a good suppressor platform. Matt may've been wrong on that take (as evidenced by the 76-24 ratio)
Absolutely. And legal in countries (Australia) where semi auto centrefire rifles are much more restricted than pump action
Its because this thing exists because of restrictions of peoples rights. Without restrictions like in Australia this gun wouldnt sell at all. Its an objectification of compliance with restrictive gun laws
It looks better than the straight pull monstrosities that we have here in the UK
@@BigMek456 I’d want to buy it. Pump action rifles are so cool lmao
You should collaborate with the slow mo guys and come up with a cool video idea and get a close up and slow motion view of things. I and other people would love to see that I think u should do a poll or something to see what people think.
That seems like an ideal suppressor host. Quieter than a semi-auto, and faster than a lever gun.
The torture test is VERY legit, but…
To make it truly fair, you’ve GOTTA run some high-end and/or gucci-guns thru this gamut. Maybe Daniel Defense, or some operator-level equipment, etc…?
He has.
Daniel Defense MK-18
Matt, the gun lube you use isn't "buttery smooth." It's "buttermilk-y smooth." Get it right!
Actually, my wife and I now only refer to ranch dressing as Gun Lube. She grabbed a pizza on the way home last night and then called me to ask if we had any "gun lube." At first I was genuinely confused, but then I just started laughing my ass off. Thanks bro, you do some awesome work and make people's lives better, even if it's just a small dumb joke in the middle of an afternoon.
She sounds like a keeper, great sense of humor.
Shout out to camera guy at 3:50 catching the shells with the camera way to have a good time with it buddy 💪🏼
honestly, that thing would be amazing for target practice because you have to completely re aim after every shot.
I never heard anyone say re-aim... ever
@@ELITE_AG I have..?
Love your videos
Been wanting one of those for many yrs now. Little too expensive tho. Seeing u treat it like worthless crap is sad. Could've just given it to me. Thanks
10 years from now Matt's going to finding glitter on him and the ranch
Matt gets home, Mere asks "what's with all the glitter?" Matt just smiles and says "don't tell Mere!"
Great punishment! Although no way would I close the bolt on a live round by slamming it muzzle end down. If the firing pin was jammed forward by debris it could have fired. I love these videos but would hate to see a mishap.
Keep up the great videos!
Amen. So many sketchy. . . It’s best we don’t tell Mere. When it does happen, law of averages (I pray it never happens after each sketchy - hopefully He Will Survive), I will definitely buy the T, just like I did with Scott. 🙏😣
look at Iraqveteran8888 torture tests... does that exact thing but with a gun that is overheating lol
I actually want one of those to give to my cousin. Semi's are practically banned where he lives, but pump action rifles are perfectly legal.
Same in Turkey this is basically the only way a civilian can own AR kinda rifle
That thing held up like a tank. I’m pretty impressed
A proper way to treat anything California compliant
i would actually like to own one of these, i know the pump makes it different an i can understand why ppl would dislike it but id still like to have one just to play with.
Great way to only blow through maybe $200 in ammo vs $800 in a short period of time lol
It’s just so goofy, but it has a certain charm to it.
If you live in a restrictive location is makes sense.
But we've had reliable auto-loaders since before smokeless power was a thing.
Would make an excellent DMR using 6.5 G.
The more I see this cinematic filters, the more I want to see a "Hollywood Ranch" series, in which Matt shows which guns/acessories he would use to face movie enemies: aliens, zombies, robots, terrorists...
And of course, shoot weird targets that could simulate how each enemy would take each bullet
Dude I love that gun !! I love the idea of a pump action 223!

Hey mat I was messing around with spent shotgun shells and empty co2 canisters and the co2 canisters fit perfectly in the shell, I was wondering if you could test it if it could be shot out of a shotgun. The canister are pretty tough I think it could handle the pressure. Edit: the canisters diameter is slightly thicker than the bore of a 12 gauge barrel just for safety reasons if you do decide to test it please use a string and pull at a safe distance
Check out his old videos. He’s already done that before
@@brandonlarue3170idk if he still even has those videos anymore. I thought he had to take them down. I remember when he used to shove all sorts of weird loads in that old shotgun
This actually isn't a completely terrible idea. If you have a failure with your gas system (i has a Seekins upper that would constantly fail). You could stay in the fight with a pump backup. Better than reaching back to the charging handle...
Yeah that's one mighty manhole, very sturdy and can impressively take a beating. Well done.
Honestly… I need to know if Mere has ever messed with his manhole. He always seems a liiiiiitttttlllleeee too excited when he talks about his manhole.
don't worry about it
