      Pump action rifles are legal as a Category B firearm, subject to 10rnd magazine capacity regs. Cat A/B is the most common licence type in Australia.
      Pump action shotguns are category C or D. They are classed the same as a Semi-automatic rifle or shotgun, which are much more strictly regulated. You need to be a professional hunter or primary producer (farmer) to even be eligible to apply, and even then it takes forever to get the application processed. My Cat H (Handgun) licence took 6mths to be processed, after a 6mth waiting period after joining a club.....

      No, that would make it a braced pistol, which is still legal (for now). I'm not saying I would run out and buy one, I'm saying it might be a viable option for some people. I think in some countries semi- auto firearms are more difficult to own or sometimes totally banned, whereas manually operated are okay. If those areas don't have barrel length restrictions (which are stupid anyway) it might be an option.

    Pump-action is kinda special, and putting manual action on a self-cycling-by-design gun is unusual, but it does have not one, but few utilities:
    * Firing low-power rounds

    Hey mat I was messing around with spent shotgun shells and empty co2 canisters and the co2 canisters fit perfectly in the shell, I was wondering if you could test it if it could be shot out of a shotgun. The canister are pretty tough I think it could handle the pressure. Edit: the canisters diameter is slightly thicker than the bore of a 12 gauge barrel just for safety reasons if you do decide to test it please use a string and pull at a safe distance

    This actually isn't a completely terrible idea. If you have a failure with your gas system (i has a Seekins upper that would constantly fail). You could stay in the fight with a pump backup. Better than reaching back to the charging handle...
