      This video is silly as fuck. I thought you were gonna say something intelligent like “I run an AK bc I prefer the stopping power of 7.62x39” or “I prefer using a side charger”…But hey, ever heard of a KS47? AR that shoots 7.62x39 and takes AK style banana clips. And there’s plenty of side charging options too, you can choose your barrel length, they come in piston driven versions commonly, etc, etc, my fingers will go numb if I type out all of the advantages. But on the real I like AK’s too, but I’m not gonna lie to myself and say it’s a better rifle. I’m glad to hear yall are training though.

    I definitely love the aesthetic of the ak way more than the AR. Like u said, u can have the same gun look 50 different ways with the same utility (light, optic, grips, etc) all going about it differently. Honestly the only downside to the AK platform is your more likely to get an AK with nonconcentric threads/bore than an AR. So suppressing an AK can be a bitch but its worth it. Love the content. Would love to see a breakdown of each of your aks as well.

    @Elong_Musket 4 месяца назад +21

    Definitely feel the "boringness" of ARs vs AKs. Running Ak's def takes more skill to operate efficiently. But the "boringness" of the AR 15 is what makes it such a great platform. You don't have to think as much once you get the manual of arms down. Everything is right where it needs to be. So all you need to do is focus on yourself and the fundamentals. Aks are better at testing you as a shooter and I'll never get rid of mine, but I had to go back to maining an AR cause it just makes sense in the world we live in today. Love yalls videos though and how much yall shoot. That's the biggest thing, fuck what's better, just go out and shoot. Train haha.

Would definitely try an AK though and am interested in getting the AK-103 from PSA. In a SHTF situation, I would much rather have the accuracy of an AR and the ammo abundance of 5.56. To me, the 2 massive advantages of an AK are that it is much easier to operate in the cold with gloves on. And secondly when I shoot my a r sometimes and I seat the mag on a closed bolt I hear a click but when I let go. The mag falls out. I'm not the only one this happens too it's an incredibly common Issue for a lot of people. But I've never done a mag change on my AK and wondered if the mag was truly in there or not.

    AK was built as a Battle rifle. Big bullet and rugged for durability purposes born in fire and came out as iron. AR is like a kids toy it's damn near all made out of plastic built for boom and zoom easy to handle and operate under stressful situations and not as heavy. I'm an AK guy but, maybe for long distance purposes 100yard+ but, if we're clearing rooms or in some urban environment then AR all day long because it's more practical. I like to use the AK as if it's a mid range sniper rifle with fully automatic capabilities.

    Ive used an ar in sub zero freezing conditions and hot as balls, between the 2, its really personnal preference, both handle fine in nearly every environment. I also will say it depents on the set up. Ive always used a gpr. An ar will always be lighter and smaller than a similarly set up ak. If you want 7.62, go 300bo or just ×39, though i will say, theres a reason lots of armies are going to a ar-18 design.

    The AK-47 stands out as one of the greatest firearms ever made due to its unmatched durability and reliability. It works flawlessly in the toughest conditions making it a favorite in conflicts worldwide, not to mention it is incredibly easy to use. Its simplicity, combined with affordability and global availability, has made it a trusted weapon for decades. The rifle's widespread availability and low production cost further cement its status as one of the greatest firearms ever designed. which is why i own 2 trust PSA AK9mm and GF3's :) Sometimes you got to go against the grain AR's are alot like elephants once youve seen one you just about seen them all lol.

    Nothing wrong with a a good AKM rifle. I'm a AR guy. I do think the AKM is starting to go into obsolescence. Due to the fact the AR is such a better optics platform. And it's more about the targeting system than the rifle itself. Plus with the AR. You can switch ammunition and now be able to engage from way further out. Putting distance between you and your target. 7.62x39 is akin to throwing bricks ballistics wise. Compared to 77gr OTM 5.56 stuff.

    There's only a few issues but they're pretty niche. A big one is parts availability and ease of repair/maintenance. Ak's are not as common in the united states and there's less companies making parts for them actively in this country making parts harder to source if parts being imported stops. Also actually working on the rifles, to rebarrel an ak you need a damn arbor press while with most ar pattern rifles all you need is some hand tools and a gun vise. Then there's also night vison usage with an ak. Simply put the mounting options for proper and effective night vision LAM setups are fairly limited. Along with many of them requiring you to install aftermarket rail setups, and there aren't many good options that will actually hold zero for your LAM. That bullshit being said, aks are super cool rifles and all three of those builds are badass.

    7.62x39 is better out of short barrels than 5.56, and the piston/bolt and carrier is more robust on a short gun than a direct gas impingement AR in a short barrel.
    AKs are meant to be able to run garbage quality ammo, ARs are not.
    Stuck case clearing and chamber access is better on an AK, although, an AK is less likely to get a stuck case to begin with.
    These are the biggest advantages.

    Im glad i watched this video cause i agree 100% with all of the answers given iys the sense of accomplishment you get from running your ak just as good if not better than the guys with the 5-10k ar15 builds i run a ak101 built from a chopped saiga and after having this for a year im ready to trade all my ar15s in

    I'm a throw a wild card out there. AR-18 / AR-180 over everything It's everything the ak wants to be but better and every way Has all the benefits of the AR-15 as well
