    Thanks, Chad.
I’m in a different financial situation than you are and I’m joyful for you that you can afford all that stuff.
As a husband, and father to four children who we homeschool, I am the sole source of income for my household and money is tight in this economy.
Here is my “range kit” and it’s far more feasible for most people.
1: Standard AR-15 with iron sights (preferably a military tested brand) My favorite rifle is the M1A but practicality of the AR beats it in many ways
2: A sling for the AR (I like Spector gear 2-point sling)
3: White light for the AR (Streamlight 625lm does everything I need so far)
    4: AR parts kit
    5: Universal cleaning kit
6: Side arm (I prefer Glock full size)
7: White light for side arm (I like the Streamlight tlr-1)
8: A good holster for the sidearm
9: Parts kit for the side arm
    10: Combat sized knife

I mean your setup better than a lot of guys in America. I’d suggest a red dot, something you can co-witness the irons through in case it goes down. Feel like putting a dot on a target is always gonna be faster than lining up two sights then focusing on the front sight and target but you’ve got everything for a damn good loadout. AR, Glock and decent size knife 👍

You are farther ahead than you think. You have a kit that each part has been thought about and debated on. Many buy things without that thought process and knowing the roles for their equipment.

I get that, but it kind of defeats the purpose of making a video saying every person needs them then saying "but you don't need them right now, get them later"
A large portion of Americans are struggling just to get by and pay their bills. This is probably $30,000 give or take worth of gear. Most people would take out a loan for a car that can be up to 6 years long that costs that much. Imagine trying to find the money or make the extra payments to afford gear like this when you are already struggling to get by.

He succumbed to the gifts from Agent Orange some time back. I feel like you're picking up where he left off and your delivery, your stoicism, genuine experience and reasoning speaks volumes. I learn something every time I watch you. Oddly, I see something in your eyes I used to see in his - I always got the impression he went back to some point in time even while he was in the present.

Here is an alternative setup for the financially challenged:
1.) 16 inch PSA or Aero Precision AR upper on a lower from either brand. Streamlight weapon light with mount, Vortex Strike Eagle or Primary Arms SLX LPVO, and a two-point sling of your choice.
2.Your choice of a sidearm that is reliable and can carry atleast 12ish rounds.
3.) A good chest rig that can hold atleast 3 mags and is of good quality. USGI TAPS rig is the lowest I would go and a mayflower would be the highest.
If you noticed, I didn’t add a CQB weapon because when SHTF, you’re not going to be running around with NVGs doing CQB and kicking doors in like a Navy Seal (Chad lol). You are most likely just going to be defending your home, so range and magnification can help you spot and engage bad guys before they reach your house. That being said, these tools only work if you TRAIN and have plenty of AMMО

Fuck. Common sense found the internet today. 4k is a small investment. You don’t need ir state side. Ya it’s cool but the average person won’t even be able to shoot under nvgs. Let alone put rounds on target. People also forget muzzle signature. You’re going to see that flash and in the shtf situation with the average person. They are just going to light up that spot where it came from. This shit isn’t the movies. 🤣

I agree with you guys. So let’s say the SHTF and you gotta go hunker down. My choice if I had to pack a rifle case would be the AR of choice, paired with a decent scope or LPVO, and 5-30 rounders (loaded) maybe a sling if you have it ….why not. Like others said a reliable pistol with 4-5 loaded mags. If it’s OR fine but good ole irons are full proof. A decent pump 12/20 Ga. and a box of OO and Slugs. A decent medical kit. Forget the NVG, IR and lasers. 99% of us are just your average guy who will be in a defensive situation not offensive. And lastly once hunkered down you are stuck! It will likely be a situation of surrender (if it’s LE outside), you win and attackers are dead or well…..you take the dirt nap. Then the winner doesn’t get to keep you expensive toys 😂

      Investment can aid in comfort.
Having a shorter barrel can't help you fight to an objective and only helps you in one. A mid to longer barrel will get you to that objective and will still fight on it. I've seen dudes scoot rooms with 20 inches and manage it. Takes more effort, and it can be exhausting, but you can expect it to reach out should you need that. That shorter length will be comfy, but it isn't going to give you results at distance.

@@Tanner_ray0213 What does "state side" have to do with using an illuminator/laser with NODs? You think the US is just brighter at night than other countries? "the average person won't even be able to shoot under nvgs"? What logic brought you to that opinion? The "average" person who joins the marines at 18 years old is handed a PVS-14 and a rifle with a PEQ15 on it. That's it. That's the training. Shooting under NODs is not difficult. The average person who can shoot a gun can shoot under NODs just fine. The only thing you said that wasn't complete nonsense was that this isn't the movies....but I don't remember anyone claiming it was?

If I could’ve afforded it, that what I would’ve went with instead of the strike eagle, but like I said, I’ve been very happy with it. Monstrum LPVO & rattler IR scope. Wait on a Black Friday & that will give you time to save. I picked up a great pistol upper, trigger, and LPVO during Black Friday. The problem is I have enough for an army; I’ve been collecting since I was 18 and I am now late 50’s. Make a goal for one piece of equipment per year. The next thing ya know is you have enough for an army because weapon systems change and upgrade and the apocalypse or civil war never came😎✊🏿. Don’t forget about NBC protection as well. Also buy a freeze dryer and prep food not only long term, but for short like work meals, camping meals, and storage of low cost food compared to future costs. Also, with the freeze dryer all those leftovers get turned into meals for years down the road, Instead going in trash. Also pick up small quantities gold and silver every paycheck. Oh yeah in the beginning buy a safe four times bigger than you think you will need, trust me😎.

    • @btumminaro
      @btumminaro 11 месяцев назад +1

Why buy lower quality products that are intended to save your life? Most people complaining about cost have a safe filled with "budget" firearms, which in total, probably add up to one quality rifle with sufficient accessories to make the person more effective than 12 cheep rifles. Saving money is as easy as finding a few wasteful spend items and putting that money to the side rather than wasting it. Can't imagine how much people waste every week just going out to eat lunch 5 days a week. When people say tactical gear is too expensive, all I really hear from them is that they don't put quality gear as high of importance as eating out and TV streaming services.

Just caught the channel. Solid advice so far. I am a Retired Army Infantry guy with some cool guy schools under my belt. I agree with this list for the most part. You started with the case, great selection but I would also add Silica packets in the case to draw out moisture thus preventing rust especially if you have this kit staged for a SHTF SCENERIO. I would add a couple of things to this list. 1st would be that if you have never played with the " Black Rifle" platform, get yourself a good block of instruction FIRST.. The 2nd would be a parts kit for that platform. Knowing how to maintain your weapons plays about as much of a role in weapons ownership as knowing how to effectively engage targets with them.
You mentioned 2 different uppers but did not mention "barrel twist rate" are you running 1/7, 1/8, 1/9 or some other barrel twist? Are you running 55,62,70 or something else in the way of bullet grain? I would suspect the 62gr. Green tip m855 ball ammo but that's what I run. Let me know....I look forward to watching more of your content.

I’m seeing some posts regarding “it cost too much “. There’s shortcuts that can be made in some of his equipment and achieve the desired results. For instance, I run a gen 3 PVS-14 (green) that I was lucky enough to get for $0. Notice I didn’t say free. I friend upgraded his kit but also needed three trees cut down on his property. I took care of the trees. I was gifted my AR 27 years ago that I simply have updated over time. My point is, you need to think outside the box and be willing to put in the work and effort. The only thing Chad has on me is the thermal scope. I’ll remedy that inside a few years.

On my Wilson Combat 556 Rifle I run the FNH Cold Forged Chrome Lined barrel, Troy Open Flip Sights w/the Eotech EXPS3-2 and G43 Magnifier which the Eotech has night vision capability. My 2nd barrel is set up with the same FNH barrel Troy Open Flip Sights and the double laser DIR-1 w/ IR Laser and vis Green Laser. I changed both barrel hand guards to the Troy Graphite to lighten the load a little on both barrels. I run Monocular NV's which I have a Thermal Clip on for them and a Berings Optics Hogster-R Thermal Scope that is know by my hog hunting buddies as the REAPER, I strongly advise getting one as for it's tough and works as a hand held monocular or rifle scope that has range adjustments on it for distances, love it.

Chad they have an adapter for that 590 to use mini shells. They have plenty of power and are very handy. I have ran the crap out of mine with no problems

Excellent base setup kit. Looks like a GBRS second best sling, I would suggest one for each AR upper, and one for the shotgun. Can easily be switched to single point, when moving "on the range". A combo tool, and fighting knife would be easy additions. TQ on the butt stock, always at the ready. Thanks for the great videos Chadd.

What is on the front of your full length rail and pistol grip? What’s the main reason for you? Always great videos. Thanks. 👍

I've never thought of having multiple uppers and switching out lowers. That's a damn good idea.

Can you please have a follow up video on what you decide on the red dot on a pistol? If you think it's a benefit or not for close quarter combat? And if you are going to keep using it on your personal pistol?

When you switch your full length upper for your cqb short barrel upper do you need to switch buffer spring weight? What buffer are you using?

I haven't been able to get into red dots on pistols. Might I suggest a ghost ring set of night sights from Ameriglo? I find them to be absolutely fantastic for lining up shots quickly.
