Hi, there! Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment! We'll pass the words along to our team of dial refinishers who definitely appreciate every word. Have a wonderful day! 😊
It would have been interesting if there was narration describing the steps that were taken. From the video it looks like there were redundant treatments, like silver plating that was subsequently abraded off. The scrubbing and polishing steps and why they are done isn’t clear from just watching. In the end, I can appreciate that it’s a complicated process but I’m still wondering what was being done and why.
Hi, there! Thank you so much for watching and for the kind comments. And haha - we refinish dials of any size and love that each process to refinish them is unique! We hope you appreciate our other videos of them as well 😊
I'm curious about the economics of dial restoration. I got into watchmaking about a year ago and have started with less expensive watches. Most of my watches were bought off of eBay for under $200. I'm a big fan of vintage Zodiac watches. Does the watch have to be a Cartier, Rolex, Omega, etc. to make such a dial restoration worth it?
Hi, there! Thank you so much for watching and for providing your insight! We're happy to hear that you've gained a passion into watchmaking. That's some interesting insight, however, we believe the value of restoring a dial is really up to the owner of the watch. The personal and sentimental value of a watch can just be as priceless as the monetary value of a piece; it's really just all about preference 😊
Hi, there! Thank you so much for reaching out and for your interest in our craft. Unfortunately, we cannot say the specifics of the materials that we use as our team would like to keep it a trade secret. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you again and have a wonderful day! 😊
Hi, there! Thank you so much for watching and for your interest in our craft. Our first step is always using acetone. For the rest of the process, we unfortunately can't provide the specifics of the materials that we use as we'd like to keep that as a trade secret. We appreciate your understanding and support and we hope you enjoy our other videos as well! Have a great day 😊
Hi, there! We use the traditional art form of printing; the print is aligned by stamping the print onto the transparent sheet that you see in the video before moving the actual dial in its correct position and using the transparent sheet as a guide. It's quite a meticulous step that our team of dial refinishers perfected after almost a century of servicing the trade! Thank you for watching and we hope you have a wonderful day 😊
Hello. I like your works. It is possible to know what kind of laser is used. I'm a hobbyist watch fan from Europe. I would like to know if it is worth investing in a laser for hobby purposes. Thanks

don't let other ppl put u down that "value will drop"
If it's vintage watch no amount of money can buy a new one, only can restore :)
Great video! Beautiful work! Thank you! What material do you use for the cliche you engraved with the laser? Is it a simple steel plate?

Lovely job you have done there. May I know what kind of liquid you use to wipe off the graphic on the dial?

The ink press is a bit confusing in relation to the alignment. Arguably the most important part. I would like to have seen how they did it when new.

why do you call a re-production of completely new dial as a restoration?
