Isolated across the rift, the Imperium Outpost Termina is plagued by revolution. The Imperial forces on the planet (led by their imperial commander, Kushon Maggrund) are tired of being ruled by an emperor galaxies away and shrouded in myth.
With the forces of the imperium stretched to their limits, every outpost, and the strategic positions they serve, matter. Captain Dantius Hashmal, a Blood Angels commander, has made the decision to lead a strike force to the planet, re-establish control of Termina, and make an example of Commander Kushon.
In an act of desperation, the revolutionary forces beckon to the vast nothingness of space for help against the angels of death. They summon forth an army of chaos demons led by manipulative commanders and brutal gladiators of the warp. The humans on this planet now have a choice, embrace rebellion and chaos… or cast off their revolutionary ambitions and help the Space Marines fend off a demonic incursion; the fate of Termina now hangs in the balance between good and evil, a battleground for Angels and Demons.

Just lovely to see so many classic marine units like rhinos, predators and tactical marines. Great paintjobs across the board too!
This kind of encourages me to try some 10th Edition (narrative)! I have an Ork and a Black Templars army from 3.5rd edition and with my current income (or lack thereof) can't invest into a brand new army. But if one of the best 40k channels on RUclips can bring their Firstborn into the table, then so can I!

@@boonballer My army is all firstborn too so am in a similar boat. Thankfully the new jump pack intercessors are basically identical datasheet-wise to assault marines, unless you had a special weapon in the squad), so the old assault marines are still perfectly usable.

This narrative was incredible! The voice lines recorded really stood out to me and I'd love to know who recorded them! I absolutely want to watch all of these and will get membership when I can. You guys keep elevating the standard for batreps and I'm so glad I found you guys.
So, I've watched every battle report you guys have posted so far on the channel. Holy crap, this one was by far the best you guys have ever created by far. Makes me wanna become a member of the channel for sure.

Unfortunately, we did not get the false claim sorted. Nick worked extra hard to edit a new version to a different soundtrack. Very excited to finally be able to get this out.

I love how the imperium is so densely populated but most city design is vast and unoptimized with statues and spacious structures everywhere. I guess the workers live underground or something

Amazing. I’m an Astartes player but you have to root for Nick. My heart broke when his valiant resistance was not rewarded in what turned out to be a crushing defeat.
After watching at least 5 of Nick’s games, I can tell he desperately needs a new set of dice
Just to note Death Company can naturally re-roll their charges so didn't need the CP re-roll (or could have used this for 3rd try!)
You can't CP re-roll re-rolls. Also, I *think* they talked about using the CP just because he had so many?

Love the content! Just wish your imperial guard lists were more competitive. I can’t recall seeing a guard list win on this channel since the start of 10th 😢
Not to disparage the batreps since they're so awesome, but there hasn't been a single well-built guard list on play-on that I've ever seen. A lot of the wargear, unit, and tactical choices made are really questionable which make even a decently played army from any other faction really perform against them.
I usually want the space marines to win because i play them, but i really like the storyline of this battle and was hoping for an imperial guard win

Hey I know its late, but what if, between games, units that were wiped out in the previous game can be swapped out in your army lists between games. This is basically allowing for each player to slightly tech for what their opponent is bringing by maybe taking more infantry units to score better, or more tanks to kill more, showing the adaptation of each faction to their opponents tactics in a long drawn out planetary conflict. This kinda lends itself to the idea that there are reinforcements from the imperium for the BA, or more guard on the planet standing up for their freedom
LOVE the narrative play and interactive terrain elements. Would have like to see any other army than more marines though, hope the campaign has some twists and turns. I'm hooked!

Red Rampage gives "Lance" which is +1 to wound IF the unit charged this turn, so using it in prolonged combats only gives you lethal hits.

Great intro and theme, I hope this does well for you, the effort you’ve put into telling the story is superb. I mean, I don’t like Imperium on Imperium narratives normally, but this is quite compelling!
Edit: And Nick needs to save those CP to use reinforcement - those two Overwatches felt like gambles compared to the certainty of getting units back to try and push onto and contest objectives that otherwise wouldn’t have been contested.
Yes, yes, play to the narrative. Clearly here the narrative was that the commander was rattled and pushing this troops into risky last stands for the ‘glorious’ rebel government… who I now have less sympathy for, as they’re just as willing to sacrifice the lives of their citizens for their own at a ratio of what… 20-30 to 1? :-)

@@PlayOnTabletop maybe release the remainder of the series for free later down the line (for example six months from now)? I understand the incentive for paying subscribers getting early access to the videos, but not everyone can do that, and we still want to be able to enjoy the narrative you want to tell.
All valid thoughts and thank you for the interest. We rely on Memberships now to maintain enough resources like our team of editors, our commentator, and our producers along with having to rent a full studio space. Membership stability and growth means we can continue to produce our main shows like 40k in 40m for regular public view. We want to give people a reason to join Membership and stay members through exclusive content. Maybe there is a future where we can make a different model work but as of now, we need and want to reward members who are a big part of funding this channel so content can keep being made.
