those canon lover are pretty stupid. those videos are basically the same. This guy could just swap the names and you guys would still scream canon all the way.
... they're the same .. and you can clearly see that .. clearly .. I honestly can say that there is hardly nay difference in between the two .. when it comes to lightning per say .. as far as sharpness goes well .. hell that pretty much looks the same as well ...
Hello, have you come across "photo SFX art" (google it)? There you can watch a nice free video featuring how you can make incredible photos. It helped Matt to shoot photos which have that wow-effect any time you take a look at them. I hope it will help you too.
@cjnibley "Having owned both" did you owned both with the identical lense or with different lenses. If with different lenses, your test was completely useless and doenst tell anything.
Having owned both I take grave exception to this comparison. Video from a77 is far, far superior to anything the 60D can do. This comparison was either heavily edited or a total fraud.
fuck. it is a video I was looking for the last few months. tomorrow reconsider it in full screen on my computer, and finally choose something one. thank you! thumb up video)
To all Canon fanboys, you say that Canon is way better because Canon is famous!!! They're pretty much the same, I must say, even though I have a77. Don't be fooled by the "Exclusive Canon Club"
To see the real difference between them, video should have been watched in slow motion (fps test) and the speed of AF should be tested. And also, different ISO ranges should have been examined for different cases. Comparison is insufficient to tell which one is better I think.
Canon is exceptional & its competitor a close 2nd here, owing to a higher "Flaring" from light sources & an almost unnoticable tad image sharpness lag.Canon's body shud be made a tad smaller & have internal body image-stabilisation,as in Sony's DSLTs to accomodate a myriad of lenses that doesnt have internal lense image-stabilisation.That be perfect!
I always thought the 60d would destroy the Sony in low light because of the mirror technology Sony uses, everyone makes it seem like it looses a bunch of light making it bad it low light. Well right here it seems like it did just fine I say it tied maybe even surpassed the canon a little.
Struggled to see any difference in picture quality. You should have gone on to show the AF differences between the two cameras and the way they handle exposure as the camera pans around.
I find it reassuring to see that the difference is minimal. I had to look at the video twice to notice a tiny bit more sharpness in the Canon, but certainly no reason to get rid of the Sony. The clipping of whites in bright daylight is more of a nuisance than some grain in a low-light situation, that can more easily be circumvented.
I always liked canon but i think its pretty much the same. on some shots i could see canon have slightly more sharpnes but it was so minor i dont know if it is due to the internet speed or what. so its pretty much the same. one weird thing i noticed was that black sky had more noise (looked less black) on the sony one but on other shots it was the other way around so that was pretty weird.
What this clip fails to mention is one important thing. . . The A77 has WAY better AF during filming compared to any (including the 60D) DSLR. Meaning the A77's AF is actually extremely usable during filming, whilst the 60D's isn't. Though for that an SSM or equivalent AF-motor lens is recommended.

A77 has better image, but 60D has better low light in the film. the A77 costs twice the price of the 60D though...
lie, u shange the name the canon is sony and sony is canon.
lol, they're similar) but sony have af, and stable, another side canon have magic latern.
Not much of a difference really, though I own Sony SLT-A77... :D
We have all been fooled...These are the exact same camera
a77 more detail ... somehow I think the 60d looks better
@igogosh can you elaborate what is your issue ?
sony's video is better for post production

A77!
I preferred the canon in ths video, I feel it had a much more cinematic feel to it
- Red Spectrum Pictures
60D
60D won that all the way
canon. not as much noise. also curious about the lenses because canon's seemed sharper at 0:45

Its really hard to say that there is some kind of noticeable difference.
does only sony have AF when filming?
