Your annually SOTC videos just are my favourites!
I got into watches 3-4 years ago by watching your videos. How you talk about timepieces no matter what price point is simply aspiring.
The symbioses of pure aesthetic and history in watches is amazing.
I recently also started to care more about my edc. So I began wearing my grandfathers signet ring, carrying a lovely little pocketknife he gifted me as well and appreciate the value of a nice fountain pen.
And although I'm still 20, I love wearing a nice suit on the weekends.
Thank you TGV for guiding me into this hole hobby and for your role model as a real gentleman.
    Best regards from southern Germany,
    Lukas

I only began my collection this year!
Bought a Seiko 5 back in March, bought the mirror dw5600bbma shortly after (currently am wearing it on 20mm JaysAndKays adapters and Armilla NATO-completely in love), my dad passed down his gorgeous Nivada Grenchen to me, I then sold my Seiko 5, bought a Casio a700w from the new vintage line, a couple straps and accessories later, and now I am planning to buy the new Lorier Hydra II in the future.
Thank you TGV for putting out your videos that have been a part of giving me such love for the hobby!

    SOTC:
Rolex sea dweller 50th anniversary black dial
    Omega Speedmaster
    Omega vintage sea master
    Tab Heuer F1
Stowa Marine classic ( what ever came of your Stowa marine? )
    Seiko 5 sports
    Casio F-91w
My grandfather’s vintage timex, which is worth maybe $50 but is more valuable to me than my Rolex.

Great video as usual. “Long time fan, first time caller!” I appreciate the historical background you provide for your timepieces. I love many of your past and present choices, unfortunately I can’t warm up to the smaller watches (anything under 40mm), though many look so great. My collection is affordable, but appealing to me:
    - Tudor HBB red bezel,; Tag Heuer Formula1, Aquaracer, Aquaracer chrono, 1000, ; Hamilton Scuba, LL Bean Automatic field watch; Tissot Seastar, PRC, Visodate; Glysine Combat Sub; Seiko 007, 5, s26 50; Citizen chronograph eco drive; Steinhart GMT, Ocean One Vintage;. Saving for the new Rolex Submariner, no date. Cheers!

Selling my Polar 216570, and replacing it with BB58, gilt dial. Took me a long time to get over the "but I own a Rolex!" mentality, but the extra $$ in the difference AND having a watch I genuinely love in the BB58 will help. I keep thinking about how in the end, the only one that cares about my watches is me, that any perceived "status" is all in my head, and if I can be a little more financially healthy AND have a great watch...why not do it! Thanks for the 2020 update TGV, always a pleasure watching the channel

I'm just a high school senior and also an anti-capitalist (no shame if you do buy luxury watches, it's just not going to be my thing) , so I probably won't be expanding my collection in any foreseeable future that much! But I get a lot of joy from the five watches I own! :)
    1. Seiko SNK809: My first automatic, I love it and wear it to work usually
    2. Casio A500WA: this looks a bit like the classic A168, but it has a worldtime feature! I use it often for timing tests for school and I love the world time feature.
    3. Seiko Quartz Gold Dress Watch V700 8A10: this was my dad's watch, I love it and use it as a dress watch for orchestra concerts and other dress up events usually
    4. Vostok Amphibia (classic turquoise with the diver dude) I got this for Christmas, wonderful piece of history and Soviet ingenuity, don't wear it a lot but it's a quirky little watch!
    5. Seagull 1963 Pilot Chronograph this is my favorite and most worn watch now! I love it's history with it's swan neck movement based off of the swiss venus movement, and it's use by PRC pilots. My most beautiful watch with that champaign dial, and I sometimes use the chronograph feature as a date function and let a minute pass each day of the month! I love watches and their history, but I see it's material limitation as a luxury product, so I am only going to pursue maybe a vintage Soviet Pobeda watch or another Seiko. I appreciate these videos as your interstellar video got me into watches after watching that movie and googling that watch! I appreciate your odd humor and wealth of information and passion found here. Thank you and have a good day :)

    Hi TGV
“That’s the whole problem with these watches, you want to buy them all and then a lot of them is sitting in the box, not getting worn”...
Yup, know exactly what you mean, and my collection is less than a quarter of yours.
The good thing is that you tend to get more picky with your choices as you learn about watches. Still, there’s room for “mistakes”. And that’s a good thing really - life’s not supposed to be perfect 😆
What a stunning collection. Always looking forward to your state of the collection, probably the most varied and original on RUclips. Cheap watches, expensive watches, crazy watches, conformed watches, but there’s always a point. Love it.

Another great video - thanks! My current collection consists of Laco Fliegers Palermo and Augsburg (Ø42 mm), Laco Berlin 40, Certina DS Podium, Orient Diver and a Glycine Combat Sub GL0042 (as recommended by you, sir). Will finally acquire a Sinn U1 next month (long term ambition) - looking forward to its arrival. Keep up the excellent work!

    My state of the collection:
My first automatic watch: seiko 5 snk809
My first pilot watch: seiko flightmaster sna411
My first dress watch: vintage Longines cal.490
My beater watch: Casio F-91W on a nato strap
And my latest add to my collection: Seiko 5 SNKL41 (I wanted a white dial watch) which I’m going to put on a leather strap to make it a little more dressy.
Love your videos and your personality! You got me into watches and I thank you for this!
Tanti saluti da Firenze e da piazzale Michelangelo!

It's crazy how similar we are, as you and Teddy B got me into watches on another level. I've gone from Casio G-Shocks and F91s (two) to gmwb5000 then Tudor BB Steel and Rolex Z Blue Milgauss, have my 18k 1960s Gerald Genta Universal Geneve Polerouter Date, and everything coming and going in between.
    Cheers, dude.

As someone who is just getting into watches, I'm really enamoured with the Seiko 5 SPRE74 and whilst I'm not sure if the 71/72 will suit me better, knowing I've made a decision based on what I like and how well thought of Seiko are, I know I won't regret whichever one I get.

I started a few months ago.
    So far:
Casio Duro MDV 106 on a leather strap - love it to bits.
Casio Royale AE1200 on SS - Fantastic everyday
    Casio GShock GA-700.
    Casio MW600 (I think)
Used to have a BMW quartz chronograph which was more expensive than all these combined, sold it off

I actually rewatched your 2019 state of the collection randomly this morning before work. I came home to another seiko 5 I ordered just for kicks. Copped the mission impossible casio after your video on it, and waiting for my stowa flieger to arrive in a couple weeks😎. Ever heard of the Baltic Aquascape? Looks really cool imo !

Congrats in advance for your latest acquisitions, you are in for some serious fun. As for Baltic, I have seen them beautiful watches. Hopefully I will find time to cover them in 2021, thank you for reminding my my friend.
      Best regards,

My collection last year consists of a Citizen chronograph and a Apple watch. I recently purchase the Seiko 5kx with the green dial, gorgeous watch. Get even more into the hobby and at the same time, I found your channel which is such an inspiration and enjoyment to watch you express your passion and knowledge. A Casio A158W just arrived also and the Flighty is on its way, can't wait to get it on the wrist :D

Awesome collection. This video reminded me that I also have a Seiko Ripley and I need to get the bracelet sized. My collection this year expanded to a Gold Seiko Turtle that i returned because the chapter ring misalignment. A few weeks ago I bought a DW5600 to my cycling.
Hilarious intro with Hugo. Keep up the good work.

You have a wonderful collection of beautiful time pieces. I've just started over the last 4 years and have accumulated the following: 3 Rolex watches (sub, SS datejust, two tone datejust), Tudor Blackbay red, Omega Seamaster 300m black dial, Breitling Avenger blue dial, Seiko skx 009, Glycine combat sub and a Hamilton below zero all stainless steel. I still have my eyes on other watches, this is a disease of which i don't want a cure.
