Lisa if you read this, you might enjoy getting your kids a salt gun for the flies. We live near a lot of dairies and finally got a salt gun to shoot the flies and my kids absolutely love this “chore” and we get rid of all of the flies so I love it!

Love seeing this "behind the scenes" kinda look. And I love when you aren't "fixed up"/wearing makeup bc it reminds me that most of us just look natural most the time and we're still perty cute. ;)

I just found your channel, but I wanted to say that I love the authenticity in your videos. So many videos on social media-whether they are about homemaking, parenting, hobbies, etc-are so edited and only show the picture perfect side of things. And it makes viewers (myself included) feel as if what they're doing isn't good enough...or natural enough...or eco enough.
I love that you show the realistic balance of life. You milk your own cow, bake sourdough, and make cheese and ALSO order groceries from Walmart. You keep things natural but you ALSO use bleach and clorox.
Thank you for not filtering out all of the "not picturesque" realities that so many content makers seem to do.

As a child in summer I would spent a couple of weeks at my grandmothers farm. She had fly strips hanging also. Funny thing, on the front porch I would swat them and she would always say, “As the saying goes…The more you kill, more will come for their funeral.” LOL I learned so much staying with her.❤

I know by now you have your precious new baby because I’ve already watched that video. I love how you use the language "address"😂 It feels so much better than saying "I'm going to clean. I'm going to do laundry. I have to fold things."
Somehow, "Adressing the laundry/addressing the porch" seems SO much better to me and my brain! I'm going to use this!

You are amazing!...... so much work in one day........ I'm almost 64 now and have slowed down alot.... forgot how active I used to be with four little ones, until I saw how much you accomplish in one day!
Say hi to Paige Sander for all of us who loved her as well. I think about her every once in awhile..... I was a career woman who came to kids late in life..... and had an epiphany with my first that I needed to re-order my life because my new found 1000% love of my little babies was so much more important than my career...... that I previously thought was the most important thing!.........I had 4 babies in 4 years..... because I just loved them so much...... now they are awesome adults 28, 26.5. 25. 24.... but I totally get chucking the career to embrace the little people......anyways, cheers to you both!

One of our favorite twists on the dutch babies is to make it savory. I never add the sugar into the batter; if we are having it sweet, I sprinkle a cinnamon/sugar mix on top. For the savory then, I'll throw cheese on top of it, and any sauteed veggies and any meat we have on hand, and sprinkle a little garlic salt over it all before popping it into the oven. Helps to use up random leftovers, and some of the family prefer the savory version😃

I’m right with you on using oldest inventory before replenishing fridge, freezer and pantry. A few years back, I developed a plan to quarterly, skip weekly grocery shopping ti force us to use up older inventory. Sure we may run out of yogurt or other perishables but using what we have on hand forces us to get creative and greatly reduce food waste. Just love re-stocking when all areas are clean & organized ahead of time.

I’m ready and our home is ready for the weekend. We live on a lake and our summer decor is the same for the porch, towels, life jackets, water shoes, swimsuits, all adorn the porch. When ask how we decorate for summer, come see our porch. Wouldn’t have it anyway. A sign of what summer is all about!

JUST found your channel. LOVE IT ♥️ You remind me of me kinda. It’s my lifestyle , only 3 children ( grown up now ) I scratch cook everything, I wash on a washboard BUT there’s a reason… I lost my house twin an electrical fire in the middle of the night a year and a half ago. -… my son was here and had 95% of his back burned getting out me and pets. He’s a breeder of Siberian Husky’s which is hard to do in an apartment in a city- I live so far off the road, my sides and backyard is surrounded by woods- can’t even see street lights. I’ve been here 39 years- I say here because I have many gardens that I need more than the gardens need me 😄.
I grabbed an apartment in town as it allowed dogs snd the hips wouldn’t release my son unless it was to a clean environment. He’s healed great, actually just got the ok to go to work, My dog went into heet. -and the two males go crazy and FIGHT for alpha title , so I said I’d bring her back up here for the heet so we didn’t get evicted 😄 l never rented before, my son wasn’t comfortable with that AS I brought my small flock of hens in the porch that night as the coywolves were howling- my hens didn’t stand a chance 😪 I lost them, my calico kitten, and 2 huskys … the firemen brought my girl out and took her to the vet- she’s fine and no sign of being traumatized. I couldn’t get out- my son pulled me out and I lost grip on a very scared dog and she wouldn’t come to the window - they found her with her head under my pillows 🙏. ANYWAY- to bring her up home for that heet I bought a small camper. It came the end of May ,2 months after the fire, went back to the apartment when hurricane Fiona hit… I came this year in April, and if I could get a wood stove that would fit in here- I’d stay year round. I cook outside a lot in the old wood stove , I have a oven that sets on top and it bakes beautiful. Until I can be here year round I can’t get hens or goats. I LOVE your garden, and your house is amazing. I’ve always lived as rustic as possible and am big on the OLD WAYS ARE THE BEST WAY. This week I’m bringing in one of those twin tub washer spin dryers- it’ll cut laundry down to less than half the time- I’m arthritic and can’t wring out the bedding. I’m definalty trying some of your recipes - I’ve never made mozzarella cheese and gonna try that too… I will tell you I wasn’t as energetic when my children were small - I watch you going snd it’s just all with ease. And all those babies ♥️♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰. I had C sections and back then it was only 3 babies. The incision was up and down which now they fo the smaller incision across the bottom. I wanted a dozen or more children BUT… 😢 I really enjoy your channel, I’ve been binge watching every day it rains 😄 In the speech of today’s children YOU GO GIRL. ♥️
Just proof read and goodness I wrote you a book 😯. Not cutting it down though, my fingers are in a knot from writing all this 😄. 🙏 BLESS you and your family. I’m going to share your channel as the little ones I babysat, have children of there own and you’ll be an in inspiration to them

Now as grown kids with kids they have taught their kids the song. 4 eggs, cup of milk, cup of flour. Then butter in the pan. Super easy breakfast but my kids used it as a snack food as well. And we topped it multiple item’s depending on what we had. Cheese and tomato with gr. Onions, salsa, powder sugar, cinnamon, apples etc.

As a young muslim woman I was and still is inspired by your work. This is an important message to inspire women with. Hopefully, I can get to become a good homemaker one day, If God wills it.
I also like the simplicity and authenticity with which you show us your days; normal daily life is packed with God's blessings for the hearts that see and appreciate it.
Allow me to pray a simple yet most important prayer on my way out:
In the name of Allah (The God), the Entirely Merciful (to All creation), the Especially Merciful (To believers).
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds -
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
The Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
Guide us to the straight path -
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
    Amen

Yes girlfriend! You get that toaster!!! :) it’s one of those appliances that I just can’t minimize. Gotta have it in the kitchen. I like your idea of just adding to the delivery list throughout the week and having your Monday morning delivery set up.

How do you get your kids to eat the same meal as you? Maybe you can do a video on this, your tips. Thanks in advance.

Dont give them any snacks, they'll learn to be hungry and actually eat their food.

I have to add something to this conversation. I grew up in the city, but was always in love with country life. Growing up reading Tasha Tudor, little house series, Anne of green gables, etc... I was a dreamer. I've grown up, had seven kids, and have battled my shortcomings constantly. I am not naturally good at anything that requires structure. I'm like a leaf blown in the wind. My home reflects that... My kids don't have a lot of discipline in the areas of diligence. The house is always a mess, and it seems like we're always cleaning. We're always late, and behind. We have pigs, chickens, rabbits, and I've taught myself to slaughter, butcher, cure, cook, ferment and so many other cool things. However, I don't do any of it with finesse, consistency, or efficiency. I have breakdowns where I just feel like a failure, and I cry.
The thing is, I was raised very unconventionally, with little to no structure. My parents are wonderful, but I was the baby, and just left to do my own thing.
I don't think I'll ever be what I want, but I have come to accept that it's better to pursue beautiful things, even if you don't do it well, than to convince yourself to what you're good at.
If I stuck to what I could do well, I wouldn't have my God, family, or lifestyle to constantly challenge my selfish, lazy nature.
I just wanted to say that for anyone who feels as "loser-y" as I often do, don't compare yourself to others. If you're pursuing something lovely, good, and worthy, be thankful that you are capable of recognizing what's worth pursuing, because many people are lost with no direction at all. And think of where you'd be without the desire to be better?
We should let ourselves get excited about every tiny accomplishment, like an edible loaf of bread! 🤣 And not dwell on how it wasn't perfect, and how the whole kitchen is trashed.
Lisa is amazing, and I can appreciate her accomplishments without comparing myself to her.

When my kids were still at home, they loved Dutch Baby pancakes! I had chickens and a garden, and we ate a lot of wild meat. One of my kids was allergic to preservatives which I rarely fed my kids, but I became very intentional with what I fed them. I bought raw milk when I could. This brings back sweet memories!

You must have boundless energy! You work so hard! I am exhausted just watching you! My 9 kids are all grown up now. We started homeschooling in 1984. We bought an old farmhouse on 6 acres and got goats and chickens. We lived in that house for 30+ years but we only kept the goats and chickens for a couple of years. We never quite got into homesteading because it was just too hard for us!
