    Really would be need to see 2023 p770/790 vs 2017/2019 versions

      The full 4 gens of 790 would be interesting to be fair. Same with 770, all new Vs Old would be good. I'll def be doing a comparison of new 790 Vs new 770 as I obviously have those heads. Obviously not in the same category of iron or performance but always interesting to see for people how different they are.

    Thanks for the in-depth review and honest feedback ; you saved me from selling off my 1 year old P790 for the new one !! Seems that the changes do not translate much in to performance to upgrade ..... thanks again

      No worries at all. Yeah if you have the 2021 P790s and they are well fitted for you (lie angle, shaft ect) then yeah there wouldn't be much reason to change 👍

    I have the 2020 p790’s. During covid lockdowns in Melbourne. I ordered just heads and a swing weight machine. Then built my set with projects x , flighted 6.5 shafts - to D2 ( I was very bored ) then got my local pro to flatten 2*
    I was considering selling them and buying the latest but after watching your video I’ll still hold on to them… was hoping someone was going to do a comparison
    Thank you

    Taylormade's got quite the combo oppurtunities with their irons. What do you think of a combo set of: 2-3 P790, 4-5 P770, 6-7 P7MC, 8-9 P7MB, wedges MG4. Scratch 125mph driver. Does this sound like a reasonable combo to you?

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Freddy, hmm certainly sounds like quite an interesting and extreme combo that 😂 that would just depend on so many things from a player specific standpoint that it would be hard to say..But personally I don't like it. Think you would need to mess around with the lofts too much to get consistent gapping. 2 iron as a driving iron absolutely fine. 3 iron if it's a set iron then you'd wanna go 770. So 3-5 in 770, 6-7 MC and then MB up could work with a little bit of loft tweaks to the 770s I'd say. Again depending on your delivery but you could make it work

    Been playing Rsi1 irons for 8 years. I shoot in mid 80s .Would upgrading to Old P790 be an improvement in dispersion? Thanks

    I think an upgrade to this test would be to compare the 5 Irons. Did the new CG actually make a difference with longer irons?

    • @asdfjkl981
      @asdfjkl981 8 месяцев назад

      i think the 790 ´21 and the 790 ´23 are by design almost identical. and they should. there is nothing to improve. i think the goal with the ´23 line is to make the other irons feel like the 7 iron.

    Hello,
    Could you do one comparing the Titleist T200 (2021) vs T200 (2023) or T300 (2021) vs T350 (2023)!
    Would be awesome!!!

      It is on the list. I will try my best to get round to them with all the new stuff coming out! I'm too busy with fittings nowadays 😂😂

  • @williamludwick77

    So I currently use R11 irons, and have had them since new (2011/2012). I know old set but I like how I play with them, although I'm not a good player.
    Would you recommend the P790 (2023 or 2021 if I can find them) for a 18-20+ handicap? Or would the new Steath2 irons be a better bet?
    I don't normally struggle with ball launch/height but working on keeping it straight vs normal slice or right push.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi William. I mean I would always recommend a fitting as I would fit based on how you deliver the club not based on your handicap. But yes if you hit the ball on the high side then the P790s should be fine for you. I wouldn't go Stealth irons they are terrible for many reasons, and not even any more forgiving than the 790s anyway, so go 790 👍

    • @williamludwick77
      @williamludwick77 11 месяцев назад

      @@epgolfstudios Yes a fitting would be beneficial. But I was wondering from a starting point (P790 vs Stealth). So thanks for the information.

    I have not bought new irons in 12 years. Is the up charge of $200 for the 2023 worth it. Also, I am 6’3 and have never bought custom clubs. Does that make that much of a difference?

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  7 месяцев назад

      In terms of 2021 Vs 2023 as long as you could get the right set up for you in the 21 model then no it probably wouldn't be worth the extra money in all honesty. And by custom clubs I guess you mean getting fitted, if so yeah it is 100% worthwhile and has the ability to help you improve your golf and score better (depending on how bad your current set up is for you) things like maximising distance while making sure you have the correct ball flight to increase stopping power, ensuring correct gapping, a lot of stronger lofted irons sets now give horrible gaps between clubs, and also getting the right weight and lie angle to reduce your miss.
      All of that is obviously going to help, but at the same time no club fixes a terrible swing! 👍

      @@epgolfstudios thanks! Saw a couple videos where 2021s were preferred and I wasn’t sure why. The one video even had more pull misses with 2021 vs the 2023.

    For a fair reviews please do alternate shot( new, old,new,old etc...) , not hitting 5 or 10 shot straight with new then the old 10 shot. It's unfair. I got p790 2019 version still love them.😊

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  11 месяцев назад

      I generally do multiple sets with both new and old and alternate between them. Most of my videos I will hit 60-80 shots. So I promise you my data and test are the fairest on RUclips 👍 and yes they are still brilliant clubs!! 👌👌

    • @freddywong5234
      @freddywong5234 11 месяцев назад

      During the video I didn't see you hitting an alternate shot or changing club during shot,no offence. Unless you edited out the changing club, but for me I didn't see you changing club in between shots. As a consumer is an unfair comparison.😁

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  11 месяцев назад

      @@freddywong5234 No offense taken my friend don't worry. But I always make sure the data shown on all of my videos is 100% accurate and fair so don't worry about that. I am 100% confident they are the most accurate and fair tests on RUclips. I'd happily show every single shot I hit. But people already moan about my videos being too long 🤣

    When you take the sound out, why not take the ball hitting the screen out? We want to hear the club to the ball, not the ball to the screen. Just my 2 cents.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  10 месяцев назад

      I'm not even sure you could do that if I'm honest. From the time of he hitting the ball, to the ball hitting the screen is like a millisecond. To cut it directly after the strike but before it hits the screen would probably only give you half the sound of the strike and just it would sound a bit too strange in my opinion.

    Ball is falling from the moon, spin, meh. More spin can also cause more curve, no?

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes at my swing speed anything will have a good land angle, but for slower swing speeds more spin increases decent angle so that creates more stopping power. And less spin can increase curvature. More backspin means less sidespin. Ball can only spin on one axis so when there's a shit ton of backspin the axis tilts less. Hence why the longer the club the more curvature you start to see. So more spin has a better miss

    • @BryanMontgomery28
      @BryanMontgomery28 11 месяцев назад

      All I know is I can curve a high spin ball more than a low one. And the straight ones would have more backspin as well. TopFlight vs Balata. I do agree with more spin helping gear effecting back to middle
