    So basically, if you own any version of the P790s that are still in good shape... Keep your irons.

      They all perform. My opinion every 10-15 years the technology changes. But everything in between is a advertisement, cosmetics change , maybe color change, advertise the piss out of it, millions of dollars into Jedi- buy this-nonsense- mind trick. Think about it if I gained 5-10 yards every year by now I would hit it 800-1,000 yards😂😂.

    Thank you for that insightful assessment! I was pleased to see you like the 2021 better over the 2023, as I bought my 2021's in June, and didn't know the 2023's were coming out a couple months later! I love my 2021s - they replaced a set of Taylormade M4s, from which I did notice improvements in feel, stability and control, and launch.

    Got fit into the 2023 p790s w a project x6.0 shaft and golf pride cp2 jumbo grips. I never in a million years would of thought 1) I would play TaylorMade clubs 2) that I would like the grips😂 but Ive been a tattoo artist for a little over 20 years and like happy Gilmore "my fingers hurt"😂 the jumbo grips I definitely wasn't expecting to like. My swing is as violent as Texas chainsaw massacre so I was expecting the project x shafts😂. Went thinking i would walk out w the 100s/150 Titleist new+new-ish t series. I was absolutely blown away when I hit the 790 and the t200 was honestly the best feeling to me. But the numbers didn't lie with 790s and after I got tired swinging I was still getting consistent numbers with the 790. T200 for me felt amazing but I really started hooking them when I got tired with the Titleist clubs. Tried A LOT of clubs in those 4-5 hours. If you want distance I can speak for myself when I say the 2023 p790s definitely perform and feel like butter sliding off the club face. 😂😂😂😂 Hope all my golf family out there has an amazing golf season!!!!

    I have a set of the 2017’s. Like them so much that I am really not sure I would spend the money to switch. I bought a 2021 4 iron to complete my set, and I must agree it does feel more “buttery” when you flush one!

    Picked up the 23 irons first part of October moved from the stealth irons and I am really enjoying them, stellar feel when struck well, I went kbs tour stiff which are 120 and the stealth irons had kbs 85mt stiff,that being said I'm feeling where the club head is throughout my swing

    I just got a set of brand new 2021s. Couldn’t believe I hit a 223 yd 4 iron, and a 200 yd 6 iron. Bad shots didn’t punish all that much. So far I’m super happy with them. I had previously the p770. The p790 is miles easier to hit. Had a lot of fun with these.

  • @cliverkay
    @cliverkay 7 месяцев назад

    The casual way you hit the 23 irons showed you had already made up your mind. !!! The real difference is when you select the other clubs in the set ie the 5 or below the change in the weighting shows a bigger difference. The 23 irons are in my bag !! I had a 19 iron as a tester before I bought and these are miles better although I preferred the glossy finish .

    Good review. How do you compare them to gen 6 pxg ? With the mg4 wedges out can you compare to jaws raw ?

    • @GolfmagicPlus
      @GolfmagicPlus  11 месяцев назад +2

      GEN 6 have more of a Ping feel to them, whereas these feel more explosive across the entire face with slightly improved feel. MG4 > Jaws RAW for me, but that's just my personal choice.

    I have had the '21's since January this year and love them but I could get on with the 5 iron. I'm a 14 hdcp swing around the 100mph with driver. Anyway I also use the Titleist TruFeel ball which seems to compliment the clubs very well. I get excellent ball flight with stoping power on the green too and have yet to experience a flyer. My set is 6-AW and I replaced the long irons with a Stealth + 4 22° hybrid and a 5 25° DHY. The only problems I have are down to my game 😂

    • @peternguyen2075
      @peternguyen2075 11 месяцев назад

      I have similar swing speed and hdcp. May I ask, what shafts are you using on them and what irons did you game prior to them?

    • @uglygolf
      @uglygolf 11 месяцев назад

      @@peternguyen2075 Sure. Before a played Taylormade Rocketballz which had 85 gram regular shafts but I drew them to much when I improved somewhat.
      My irons have Dynamic Gold 105 VSS stiff shafts which I love. My 8 iron goes 148 yards, 7 iron 160, 6 iron 172. I have Hzrdus red 80 hybrid in the hybrid & DHY. The 4 is a soils 200 yard club with the 5 at 185 yards. All providing I hit a good shot 😂

    Excellent video! I had the 2017’s, and currently play the 2019’s. Was thinking of upgrading to the 2023’s, and now I understand the differences better. Sounds like the 23’s might be worth upgrading from the 19’s, but not so much from the 21’s?

    • @GolfmagicPlus
      @GolfmagicPlus  11 месяцев назад +2

      That’s correct! I’d say 19 to 23 is a worthwhile change, but not 21 to 23.

      Just switched from 21 too 23 and I notice a huge difference. I okayed the 21 for 2 full seasons and have no played about 15 rounds with the new ones and they are loads better then the 21. So I wouldn’t say it isn’t worth the switch because I think it was money well spent. Plus I got $750 in trade credit for my 21 so I only paid $450 for my new ones. I will take that all day long.

      Just a warning the new apex pro are definitely a players iron if you're not a low handicap or even scratch your dispersion on miss hits will be tuff they just don't fly unless you're trapping the ball consistently. This club (any and all clubs) are only as good as the swing you put on them. Save your money, get lessons, try and practice some and play as often as you can. Golf is a difficult game, very high maintenance and very expensive. Even the best in the world struggle and they have nearly unlimited time and resources to practice and play. Temper your expectations when you are out there and enjoy the round no matter what score you post.
