Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Alex, I’ve been playing an earlier version of these for several years and they transformed my game. I’m 75 and a very average golfer, in my opinion they are made for folks just like me and perhaps a lot younger. And sorry but I love the look of them!!

I have a new set of these. Been using for a month now. I LOVE THEM! They have improved my game so much! I use to do I everything I could to avoid having to hit an iron. Now, I'm excited at every shot opportunity I get to use one. My Son said to me, "Dad, you are actually golfing" and "hitting golf shots". I'm so thankful for what Cleveland produced. No one who’s gaming these is trying to turn pro or even win the club championships. It’s just about keeping you in the game imo.

Back in the 17th century, 2 Englishmen, John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham, formulated a philosophy called Utilitarianism: that is, an object or process should be judged by how useful it is. Personally, I ascribe to this philosophy and I use the Wilson LP2 irons which are quite similar to these Clevelands and give me a better game than my old MacGregor Tourneys ever did. So, use what works best for you and that will make it beautiful to you.

Performance and the results make his reaction of the club more valid. Ugly. Large. Horrendous sound. But.. it works. Very good of this guy to display it.

Secondly, they are not really ugly just a bit chunky - bit like me so I may be biased!!. The irons which were truly ugly were, as others have mentioned, the Cleveland VAS irons and slightly more recently, the Taylor Made MCGB.
Finally, these clubs are not really designed for higher swing speed players but for a more senior golfer who is losing some club speed they are pretty good

Alex, two things. First, every time I hear a club on any video that I have watched, they all sound the same. It is just a click. Some are louder than others, but they are all just clicks on my monitor. Second, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It just looks different than other clubs. I have a set of "hybrids" that I got years ago that look almost exactly like those clubs. I couldn't hit them, so they are sitting in my graveyard of discarded clubs (my spare room). I have had and heard some terribly sounding clubs. I have a Wilson Spine driver that I used to use that sounds like you are hitting the ball with a Mason jar. It has a hollow ring to it. A friend has a PXG 211 driver that sounds the same. My PXG 811X driver sounds great.

Only problem wit those clubs is inconsistent distance. They fly 10 - 25 yard windows which makes it hard to hit greens.

If people play hybrids, how would this be ugly? It’s more like a 7 hybrid that flies like and iron. Full face grooves may not be necessary. Maybe don’t need a entire set, but as long iron replacements it seems like a good option

I am 69 and have the older version. Love them. Only negative is the black paint on the back is poor. It flakes away fast. I just repainted mine unfortunately it is chipping away.

The 7-Iron doesn't go as high as expected because the halo's have strong lofts on them, closer to another manufacturer's 6-Iron.

Im off 16 but should be lower....i just struggle with my 6 and 7 irons, but cream my 5 hybrid...id rather be seeing my handicap tumble with clubs I can hit than worrying about what they look like or sound like!! Golf snobbery at its best!

I think they look great myself but then I have always thought blades look boring and plain. To me a club is a tool and you want to use the tool that is easiest to use and gives you the best results.

I carry about a 9 handicap, I'm 68 and I've never hit better shots since using the Halo irons the past 4 years. Yes, my ego sometimes get in my way and I start playing my TM 790's only to result in cussing out myself for the poor iron shots I hit. It comes down to this: Would you rather has ugly clubs, or would you rather have ugly shots? Seriously, I hope my friends don't start playing these Halo's, because I love taking their money!

Low baby draw, high baby draw, 3rd one looked long and straight - 198, and high baby fade. For a clib that you just unboxed; you hit every shot that you wanted to and with better distance numbers than you expected. What's not to like. I think, with numbers like that, you will better appreciate the clubhead design.

I purchased only the 4 Iron, last year, to use in place of a 4 Hybrid. Your comedic snobbery notwithstanding, the club actually performs quite well.
I have not warmed up to the shape of modern hybrids, which look more like mini-fairway woods, with their heads continually being stretched back (which is why they look like woods). The first hybrids that I used, back in the 1990s, were the TOUR EDGE Iron-Woods, which look similar to that Cleveland, except the back of the head was rounded out, not "pushed" in. The Ping G15 and G20 Hybrids also had that look to them. The fact that they were not commercial successes was probably due more to the fact that Tour Players didn't use them, rather than how they performed (which was simply brilliantly).
Since many amateur players have trouble hitting fairway woods from the turf, I fail to understand why manufacturers would not understand that even though stretching the head back may increase MOI, the "look" of the club on the ground can cause an amateur to "freeze" up during the downswing the same way that they do with a fairway wood.

95% of golfers are hackers because of “straight jacket” golf instructors who basically wrap us up in a straight jacket and twist us into pretzels and say now you should be able to swing freely and hit like tiger.
We dont know how to use the tool so we end up being absolutely plagued by chunks on the course.
Nobody has to teach us to use a hammer and after 1 day we all can hit the nail in the middle of the head.
If we knew how to use the tool we could add all the power we wanted.

Probably would fly higher if you hit it off turf, rather than the range surface.
