3 years later and this video still helping people. Definitely helped me this week! Had the same problem, went on Amazon, ordered the part ($10.00) waited two days and BOOM! Fixed it within 30 mins. Working like new. Saved me $$$ on having to call a repair tech or even then more money from buying a brand new washer. Thank you my good sir! Thank you for posting the RUclips video on how to fix the LE error on Kenmore and LG washers. The repair company told my parents it would be over $1,100.00 to fix after their $115.00 service call. My parents were going to buy a new machine, but after watching your video and buying the part on Amazon for $10.49, their machine is as good as new. It only took me 10 minutes to fix!

Had a LE error on my LG washer. Called a factory certified technician and he said it will take close to three hundred plus to replace the coil.
Bought the sensor for $12 on Amazon and a 1 inch socket for $3.5 from HomeDepot to remove the nut....replaced the sensor myself and my washer is back running as it was earlier...took me 30 mins in total.....if not for this video, I would have ended up buying a new washer.
    Sincere thanks to you.

I was not sure if it applied to a Top Washer and yes it does . The issue is not evident as it sound as it did hit something but no , the sound come from the motor going crazy because of the wrong speed position of the motor rotor and than it stop with the Error CODE LE . We even bought another new washer before finding this You Tube video so i got a Hall sensor parts Locally 46$ and after installation it did work perfectly so we cancel the new washer that was going to be delivered in 2 days.

Thanks for sharing! OMG! I couldn't get that 17mm bolt off for anything. I ended up resolving my LE error, but unplugging the sensor cable for 5 min. Upon reconnecting & testing was able to see the drum spin. I put the metal back plate back on and now my washer is working good as new. I'm so happy I didn't have to have a tech come fix it. Now I can treat myself to a nice relaxing dinner :) Hopefully this someone else too!

Not all LG washers have a hall sensor (aka rotor position sensor). The models ending in CW (Cold Wash) generally use the control board to control the motor and there is no hall sensor. If you have a LE error on these machines you need to check for physical damage to the stator or wire harness, and use a multimeter to check for continuity and resistance. In rare cases it could be the PCB board (as the board controls the motor speed). You can google "LG xxxx parts diagram" where xxx is the model number to determine if your machine has a hall sensor. Stators and PCB boards are very expensive parts... wire harnesses are cheaper and you can often splice/repair them yourself.

ferrari5k did it fix it? I also hear the hum but it acts like it’s lacking power to spin the drum. It’s not blocked as it’s free to spin by hand.

I replaced the sensor and the rotor with no luck. Rotor still hums like it wants to turn but won’t. Bearing is smooth and quiet, must be an electrical problem with the stator or a relay???? The rotor splines were iffy but obviously not the problem. Anybody have a suggestion?

For anyone reading, the wiring harness can also be the culprit.
