@@TheSpar29 Thank bro I watched one of this his videos where he made 31,000 in 30 days, and i seen a lot of other people's videos there is no way they are able to do these loads while only driving 11 hours a day. Lol
Please add a correction to this video... I just had my new entrant DOT inspection and was told that because we are driving a box truck with no sleeper berth the 2nd driver has to be logged in as on duty... not driving therefore using the same HOS as the 1st driver so in actuality you only can still drive 11 hours/day unless your box truck has a sleeper in it which most do not. I was told if we were ever pulled over by a DOT officer we would have been put out of service.

I can't thank you guys enough for NOT having BLARING hip-hop music as an introduction to you video. I too am a black man and get turned off trucking videos that look more like auditions for a cable reality show than an informational video on how to start a company that will ALWAYS be needed and make some decent money doing it. I bought a 24ft reefer box truck last year and got my authority in April. I did EXACTLY what you said, go on as many load boards and see what the rates were and sat down and calculated EVERYTHING involved from hotels, fuel, food and truck maintenance, especially insurance before I bought the truck. I called no less than forty different brokers to see if they would work with new authority (less than ninety days). The overall majority wouldn't but they did tell me to keep their numbers and call back at the sixty day mark. I got a few loads but it was just enough to cover expenses. I never got discouraged because I knew at that sixty day mark it would all pay off and trust me, on December 31st I looked back in disbelief that I made $73k in six months. I NEVER made that much money in my entire working career (I'm in my fifties) but I did it. No, I did NOT get to keep all of it but I see that $21k that I did manage to keep as a sign that I must have did it right for a solo operation. I made a mistake or two (doing unreasonable deadheads during my first sixty days out just to feel I hadn't made a mistake buying a truck and didn't realize the cheapest motel such as Super8, Red Roof Inn and such weren't as bad as I had taken them to be) but that was first year out. You are going to make mistakes, get discouraged and such but hey, aren't those the reason why you chose not to work in a damn factory lifing boxes for $11 an hour? These guys are on point and I STRONGLY recommend to all of you to follow their advice. For young brothers they've done their homework. Always, always remember that it doesn't matter how much you make, its how much you KEEP thats important and household and personal expenses MUST be included in EVERY load.

You are doing a good job of trying to help newbies but you must make sure you are giving them accurate information. You CANNOT run with two drivers in the same truck for 22 hours without a sleeper. It is also Illegal for one driver to sleep in your truck. If you don't have a dot approved sleeper then you must get a hotel room. Yes the dot will check you logs and hotel receipts. You must set the records straight so these new guys don't lose their businesses. If you drive 11 hours and then move over to the passenger seat your are still on duty and will be heavily fined and lose you business. Yes there are officers that will scan the truck stops for Box trucks with drivers sleeping across the bench.
I thought they sounded crazy too as there wouldn't be any proper sleep sleeping in a seat with no bed however everything I can find with the DOT shows that many drivers do this and the hours are only for each person separately. So the team drivers can do twice as far in a day. Crazy and certainly dangerous as one can expect without proper sleep but unfortunately no law maker has fixed it and they are allowed to as far as I can tell
You can not team drive for 22 hours unless you have a dot approved sleeper cab. Dot with stop your truck in its tracks if it catches a team driving on two seperate logs with no sleeper.
I’d have to look into that, but “TEAM” driving was never mentioned and ghats not what we do. Doing Amazon, one will work 11 drive time in 14 hours, then switch. You’re allowed to do that.
@@boxtruckbros9935 that is thr definition of team driving. You getting away with it fit now doesn't change thr fact its against dot regs to run a truck 28 hours with no sleeper

Thank you how would I find the the demand any key indicators? Thanks
when you are waiting to get loaded or unloaded does that count against you drive time or is that considered a break?
Im in Florida & is thinking about starting up a Box Truck business, are saying its not a good market in Fl to start something like this
California is a huge market, I made tons of money under contract with the Home Depot and Ikea delivery.

I made these mistakes but with a sprinter van. Oh boy! My profits looked interesting. I am now looking into investing in a box truck.
Did you keep the Sprinter? Did you get a box truck?
When in rental box you can run 20 hours straight there no log machine and they can”t tell how many hours you been running !
So I shouldn’t look into starting a box truck business if i stay in Florida ..?
