Awesome Tips MyMan! Great info with the loading and unloading example. The same thing goes hand and hand with double-checking the BOL before shutting the doors to the trailer. Always take a second to look over that BOL to make sure the "Pallet Count" and the "Weight" match the Rate Con. If they don't ... DO NOT LEAVE that shipper before you call the Broker to re-negotiate the price for the extra product that was added. That's another easy way to get $200 to $300 more Bucks. I had a Driver the other day do just that. The Shipper didn't load 500 pounds they loaded 1,500 pounds and the Driver wasn't the owner of the company and didn't have the experience. So they loaded him up and closed the door and he drove away from the Dock... Because he closed the doors and left the Shipper it was WAY harder to re-negotiate the new rate for the difference added because he already left the shipper ( the load is marked as pickedup ). If he had stayed this puts the Broker in a tight spot and they have to comply with the Truck because the product hasn't been picked up yet. Plus, the Broker isn't going to try to find another Truck to do the load because that Truck is already there ( this gives the Truck more leverage ). The Driver/Trucking Company is in more control if they don't leave the shipper when issues like this happen. An easy way to get extra cash. Keep the videos coming.
Wow your idea signing up with J B Hunt was very good. This was an eye opener. Thanks for this idea. We will consider renting a truck for one week if we do not get to purchase our own truck👍
Love the content my guy! Were you able to find the second company name? Im looking at it right now for box trucks you just look at the weight of the load right?

Just wondering what insurance level did you need to drive OTR. I know Amazon Relay wants $1 million policy $2 million aggregate $100,000 cargo What were the insurance levels you need
hey very interesting thought to be in the trucking business... my major concern is how could i start with renting let says ryder for2 weeks to try it is jb hunt or amazon needs insurance for the rental company? and can use s corporation instead of LLC because i have s cops already thanks you buddy
I drive a box truck for a company right now and let me just say that I really enjoy the weekends off and being home every day. That's extremely difficult to get in the trucking industry, so I am very proud of that. But I'd prefer to not unload my truck every single day. So if I can find a gig where I can go to these places and they load/unload the freight for me, that would be awesome 👌
@@meditative82 that sounds like a smart idea, I will have to check them out around my airport (Charlotte Dougles International Airport) but what stinks is that I have a Class-A license, and I was hoping to find a nice local 18 wheeler gig with daily home time. Now THAT, is hard to come by.
JB Hunt will want your authority to be active for 2 months before they will approve you. Every carrier is different. Some will work with you right away others will want up to a year with your own authority.
He’s talking about home delivery of appliances, treadmills, and general large items that can’t be delivered in a regular delivery truck. XPO Logistics, J.B Hunt, Brandsmart, and a few others contract for home delivery with owner Ops. You can make good money doing it but you’ll need a helper with you because some do require install.
I appreciate you dropping all this knowledge!! Many blessings to you! Lease, rent, or finance a truck? Should I save at least $10,000 dollars before I get a truck ?( expenses, truck maintenance etc…) If not $10,000 what’s a good amount to start with?

Try air cargo freight (around the major airport's)

For Aldi would it be a lot more for reefer 53’ trailers or almost as much for 26’ reefer box trucks?
