I purchased a 26 ft box truck with lift gate 3 weeks ago and this past week was my first time running loads. No dispatcher, no experience, just determination and will power! 💪🏾🙌🏾 been watching RUclips and taking notes. Long story short, Just got in yesterday from a 3 day trip OTR out of NJ! It was my very first week running and I dispatched myself off the load boards DAT and truck stop! Went from philly pa to Pittsburg pa. Then from Cleveland OH to Barre VT. Then from Boston MA back to NJ. I drop my Boston MA load off on Monday morning in Denver PA a hr from home! It Was a crazy 72 hrs OTR I got a lot of NOs because I’m in my first 30 days and still always to go until I’m out of my 90 day new authority phase but I made a quick 2750 for 3 days of work!
PS. I also stalked the load boards at every stop and thugged it out in the cab during the nightly rest periods. Wasn’t totally comfortable but I made it work! I appreciate your knowledge and content, keep it coming! Salute!

Fascinating! Retired CIA logistics executive writing from my hotel room with a 26' rental box truck in the parking lot. Had a client with a deadline and no better option so doing a 1,000 mile round trip in 24 hours to get it done. Drove through Charlotte twice. Had no idea this box truck LTL OTR stuff was a thing. Had I known this when I first retired I'd be doing it all the time. Love long distance driving. Downside is I eat the entire time I'm on the road. Guess I'll go back to consulting, but loved the video and wish you the best of luck.

That's true i was working for an Expedite company and i was all thru those same states. I didn't make no money because... weelllll i was working for someone else's company and they didn't pay me sH!%.
I had thought about driving for Amazon but the more I looked at their rates the more I saw it as a TOTAL waste of my time. I have a 24ft reefer box truck. Amazon demands a 26ft box truck. In my opinion, or lets just say the way I saw it the loss was theirs, not mine. Driving a load with three stops for $350-400 aint no money in my opinion. I called my insurance company and took that excess $60 per month I was paying because of Amazon off and went on my merry way.
@@outreachvideo Broo, I can't say nothing about Amazon Relay because I haven't haul for them yet but I have to touch the freight, multiple stops and cheap rates I may never haul for them.
@@peterguerrero4712 Amazon is TOO dictatorial for the meager rates they pay. They are just as bad on carriers as they are on their employees. A high turnover rate is not good no matter how big you are.

Hi, I have a question about load bars. When you don't have a load on your truck how do you secure the bars? Do you just clip them on e track or did you buy a holder that clips to e track?
I wanna go over the road so bad! But we have to wait until we get another truck so that we can still run the local loads for the shippers we've created relationships with.

My polite suggestion is you edit out the part where you're sleeping in a truck with no Sleeper. That might get you shut down for 10 hours, especially when you're loaded.
What is a good resource for checking the reliability of various trucks and selecting for a good one? Is there a commercial truck reviews site, or a discussion forum? Thanks for the content!

Two questions:
1. If you have a box truck do you have to unload yourself or do you just back it into the dock? I currently drive a full tractor trailer but it seems like a lot of local work is California that’s needs to be looked at.
2. I have the company open, but when I get the MC numbers do I have tell them it’s for box truck?
Idk if my questions makes sense, but I’d appreciate if someone with knowledge can share with me.
