Curly’s Mercury is one of the chopped Mercs that set the trend once again in the early 1980’s. An how to on chopping the top on this Mercury has been the inspiration for many chopped Mercury’s during that time, and even decades later.

So much respect to whom ever sprayed this, it's so slick that booth is on point.
It's nice to observe the retro work done previously and making a beautiful upgrade. A new interior would have been nice too. Good job.
Well... That's gonna be stuck in my head for the foreseeable future.
Thanks.
OMG this car took me back to when I was a kid , when this car was being worked on at Rod Powell's shop in Salinas, ca I remember when Butch did the chop they even had an article in I believe Hot Rod on the chop the first photos were taken out in Monterey then the other at the Rod Powell picnic at Royal Oaks park in Prunedale nice to know this car is still around Thanks for the Memories.
Beautiful job.👍
Nice to have thst closed captioned things
I was glad to see it was left as is under the hood, carbed with a stick
But.....what was the engine? Looks like a hurst shifter so I assume it was converted from a three speed column.
Perfection
Excellent.
Great work :)
Love the color dude
Great work 💪🏾👊🏾
Awesome.
Nice
I see this was done in 2018 (putting together the video), did anyone go back and put Fin Tips on the end of the exhaust pipes?
The other car that I would love to see because I lost track of it that also had come out of Rods shop was Harold Olsens 46 Chevy I remember Rod had it for some time sitting in a display window wearing grey primer then after a while purple primer after that I know that Harold had taken it to Gene Winfield for a Tequila sunrise fade job then later painted a brandy wine then it seemed to have DISAPPEARED
One of my Frist cars was 1959 lead sled Mercury
YEAH ! U WANT a MEDAL ?
1949 lead sled Mercury
*What color is this*
alunak oliva gummy bear.
Is this a paint code that someone can purchase like say a PPG, Sikkens or House of color example?
Use Black chrome is more beautiful
great car, the dash color sucks to sissy. beautiful color but the theme song sucks too.
Looks like about the same amount of bondo to metal.
