I just seen the best tool a man can have. A brain. We don t need every expensive tool out there to build quality hot rods. Car looks awesome. Great job.
Spent my entire working career in the sheet metal layout / fabrication industry and can spot a "pro" with just a few minutes of observation. A true pleasure watching you work. You become one with the metal, and that's what makes it work.
Bro 23 years of building hot rods and I have to say I'm simply amazed. Talented is an understatement. Love the metal and it will become what you imagine!
Awesome video man really really nice work thanks for sharing your craft. To all the young punters watching this vid take note how slow and steady Baron is.Cheers from Australia
You guys are awesome... I would enjoy you guys revealing one of your projects. I know you don't want to but it's a way to enjoy all the hours people have watched and supported you cool and beautiful people 💜
Good stuff. I like that your videos show a little fab action, and technique, then fast forwards to see end product. I also like how you show the individual steps and tricks. I look forward to seeing more
Man your skills are unbelievable i can watch you work all day your channel mike bello and karl fisher or my favorite metal men on you tube i worked as a painter in bòdy shop for close to 40 years and yall are some of the best ive seen thanks for the video.
Man that’s quite a compliment considering both Mike and Karl are professionals and I’m just some air conditioning mechanic living a dream on the weekend.
This is awesome!! Every other four-door-to-two-door conversion I’ve seen usually utilizes the quarters and doors off of a two door car. I love that this is all from the four door you started with. Well done!!
Hi really nice work. I myself am a bodybuilder from the old school. Where fiberglass and other fillers were not invented. Where brass and tin were used. AND it places great demands on the design of parts that are manufactured. So it's nice to see someone making video about what craftsmanship is. Again great work Many greetings from Denmark
Wow! You have a great eye for making the car look like it was chopped when it came out of the factory. So impressive!!! Might have to have you come down to Florida when I retire to escape those winters!
The care and craftsmanship is impressive. It’s great to see car work that has an eye to detail and talent so I subscribed (even if I don’t “get it” when it comes to chopping cars). The flow of the roof to rear trunk deck is masterful! Thanks for the great content.
i Love the shot of the Coupe in the snow. Chopping one of those was my first custom project ever in 1997 at 17yrs old. You could pick those coupes up for under a $1,000 all day long then. I let all my skills and knowledge sit on idle after high school to focus on my career. For over 20yrs of someone telling me what to do for a great pay and benefits. You are really helping me decide to hang it up and retire. I think im going to start a full blown shop where only I work and maybe a Super HoT and Sexy lady to answer the and make appointments . I still have a ton of my tools, English wheel, tig welder, DA sanders, paint guns, hammers and dollys, bead Roller. Everything looks TiTs, tear the bone out of it!!!!
My 2 cents once done I would draw custom moldings from front to rear Hire a carpenter or pro molding guy They mostly work with straight molding tell them pie cuts is ok it will be painted and wood paddy Then cast it use old spoons forks and butter knives weld bolts under them Send to polish shop
Ya, Ruined ! Lol. Really nice work and a lot of it. I've been a mechanic and later a trim carpenter and I can appreciate the work and hours you've put into the customizing of this car. Hope to see the finished product.
Yeah, I thought I would have preferred it as a hardtop but the slant of the back of the door window frames running into the rear quarter windows is awesome!
That's cool way ya put sq stock to support A pillar like when we chopped the neck off my H.D.R.G we but a big rectangular stock inside back bone to weld the A.S.30"short neck
These videos are very useful to me as I am in the process of doing something similar to my 89 Bronco. Not lowering but replacing a rusted roof with similar cut points. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on a couple questions if you have a chance to respond: - Do you think 1/2 square tubing or bar stock is adequate sleeving in the A and B pillars assuming it is properly rosette welded into both halves? - The B pillar on the bronco is about 10 inches wide and 4 inches thick. How would you cut it so that you would have a good chance of ending up with two parallel co-planar surfaces to weld? Thank you so much!
Yes, I would say the half-inch steel will be helpful in aligning everything or the bigger the better. Typically when I cut stuff I try to use a sheet metal template and it’s just a matter taking your time cutting.
fantastic work on this. really like the format too. great balance of a little bit of explanation, and lots of how you did it. great work on the car, and the video
By the looks of it .. esthetic wise, this four into a two door conversion, is going surpass any original two door chopped Merc. Very clean workmanship.
Younger generations should watch this type of craftsmanship. Then there would be more great cars cruising around and less people queueing up for I.T jobs
Lovely work ! As a complete novice, I’m wondering about the replacement glass when you have altered so much bodywork. Do you get the glass specially made ?
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I hadn’t considered that it might be all in a flat plane. Your ability to work metal into compound shapes is very impressive. Thanks for sharing my friend, best regards from England!!
Just watched your video, you do great work &😳 WOW you left your grinders safety shield on , crazy you love your hands & fingers too Lol 🤣 It seems nearly every American removes them in build shows , over here in down under 🦘 most blokes leave them because we like our hands & fingers. You do beautiful work , keep it up mate 👍🏼😉🚀🛸

If you decide you don’t like the car I’ll be MORE than happy to take it off your hands! Outstanding job on the chop!
Love the profile of the car at the end of the video. Very enjoyable to watch you work. Thanks.
Thanks 👍
This is awesome!! Every other four-door-to-two-door conversion I’ve seen usually utilizes the quarters and doors off of a two door car. I love that this is all from the four door you started with. Well done!!

Looks like you are ambidextrous. Comes in handy I’m sure working with your hands. Job is so well planned. Good work.
Yes, I’ve ambidextrous my whole life. Definitely not something most people pick up on.
@@Theoldironworkshop my dad was too. Could even write with both hands. Very uncommon talent.
