I need to find me a girl who says, “good job honey, you’re impressive too”
Yah. She's a nice pay it forward type. I agree.
I thought exactly the same thing!
🤣🤣🤣 mine just constantly tells me I'm dead inside. 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Looked to comment just when I did.
I carried a USP 45 as a duty weapon for many years. It had the decock only plate and match trigger. It was the most accurate and completely reliable work gun I ever carried. Pastor Don
I have the same HK as a duty pistol ( it's retired to my underwear drawer ) I loved it so much I bought a compact 45 and USP 9 and 9 compact as well , all 4 have been stellar
Picked up a Maryland State Police used USP 45 and it’s my go-to handgun. Trigger feels lighter than some of the USP I have tried, did have to get it sent in for a new frame and fresh night sights (had a small crack near the mag release).
@Peter Angles a good one
You don’t need to sign your posts. Pastor Don
@Peter Angles career previous to pastoral ministry
When I was a police officer in a cleveland, ohio suburb, we switched from the Smith & Wesson 5906 to the HK USP .45 in 2001. In the 11 years I worked there with that firearm as the department issued sidearm, we had “0” reported range failures or malfunctions. The entire HK line are Amazing firearms. Triggers arent the greatest, but they will all go bang everytime you squeeze the trigger.
Insert the 1911 train…… again……. They’ve been fronting those triggers for over 100 years now. Training training training. Sucks buying .45 auto tho
My carry when I’m out of the People’s Republic of Maryland is a USP 45 that I got second-hand after the Maryland State Police cycled it out. Never had an issue and take all my pistol classes with it
I sent my 20 plus year old USP .45 to Bruce Gray's shop for a trigger job this summer and it was worth the money.
After my agency’s switchover from revolvers to bottom feeders, I carried the S&W model 39-2 while in uniform. As soon as a business suit took the place of an obvious P.O. Uniform I began to carry my 1911. Near the end of my career I switched to the HK USP .40 Compact. Along with my Les Baer & S&W model 66 the three are currently in my EDC rotation.
Glad to see a review from someone that is from Cleveland (Pat Joslin)
Coincidentally picked up the Mark 23 yesterday! Your review from last year convinced me to pull the trigger on one.
@@silverbackgorilla2112 how so?
@@EdwardOrnelas Have you fired yours yet? It's just a big unbalanced clunker. I wish I had see one in person before ordering. I'm sure an HK sheep will pay me a big price for it.
@@silverbackgorilla2112 LOL yeah its a big gun. sounds like you didn’t know what you were getting yourself into. of course it’s not an everyday conceal carry gun. it was meant for special kind of task.
@@silverbackgorilla2112 you bought the longest slide offensive handgun produced by HK and was surprised that it was a long offensive handgun?
I love mine. It’s obviously slower then most 4,25” guns, but man is the trigger good and it just puts them where you want them.
My USP Compact in .357 Sig is over 20 years old with over 5k rounds through it. Never an issue...amazing firearms!
I have one.., originally in .40 but sporting a RCM barrel in 357Sig. Awesome pistol!!
You should consider selling it to me please.
@@gsactotube NOOO. ME!!
My USP 45 is about 10 years old and has never jammed, which I thought was impossible. But the gun speaks for itself. Over 2,000 rounds and NO jams...
Starting in the 1980s, I shot 1911s until 2000 when I bought a USPc 9mm. I have "a few" other good pistols now, but, my love affair with HK has never faltered and it never will.
In the German military we engaged the mag release with the middle finger. Works quite well
Thx for the review. Bought the Expert 9mm a view months back incl the beveled, extended magazine-well -> extends the capacity up to 18 rounds and makes magazine changes a joy + you've get a better grip (pinky finger). had up until now ~700 rounds through it, not a single malfunction. thats what it has been designed for. waiting for your 1000 round review.
Just wanted to recognize how supportive Mrs.Outlaw is. Always great with the camera and comments, also a good shot.
Hitting targets at 130 yards with a PISTOL 😲 dude is freaking amazing
Just bought the HK VP9 longslide 5.5 inch, and yes its a tack driver. Pricey at over $900 but it did come with four 20 round mags. I run Tula 115 fmj 99% of the time for practice ammo and have had few problems. Maybe 1 failure to fire in 1000 rounds(even after second strike on the primer) excellent power and accuracy in all my 9mm pistols. I will continue to buy it as long as it's available.
Chris/Honest Outlaw, you may be unaware of this. I have been following you for years. You seem to miss a shot or two when Mrs. Outlaw is moving the camera in your peripheral view. I assume you can not correct for this as your, mine, anyone is unconsciously going to notice/be disturbed to some extent by movement in your peripheral. In your case and many shooters , possibly because we train for situational awareness so, we have trained ourselves to pay attention to movement in our peripheral view.
Dude, that being said, you are a hell of a shooter, put most to shame.
100% agree
I was so happy to see an H&K that I watched both commercials in full.
So what you're telling me is that this trashy ammo is great for loading into range mags for malfunction clearing practice
I have had the HK 45 for 11 years now. My second favorite pistol hands down. My GS has the HK mark 23 for sale at 2100. I really really want it.
Congratulations on 700k but I feel you should have a hell of a lot more. One of the best gun channels on RUclips.
The only one I've come across that I feel os genuine. Too many cave to their sponsors.
Agree 100%. Best one! He is honest, many are not. In this world honesty is rare anymore
My first gun was a USP 9mm. It was just under $700 new and I’ve had people offer $900, 20 years later. Trigger sucks but it hits anything for sure. I can’t bring myself to sell it
I was issued and carried a USP .40 for 8 years. No malfunctions and I bought it back when we switched to Glock. I’ve also owned a USP 9, USP 9 compact, a HK45 and I took the USP/HK45 armorers course. I had LEM triggers in all my personal ones. Dated ergonomics but very accurate and reliable pistols.
"Dated", LOL!
This is insane. I was literally thinking today I wish he had made a review for the expert. I was planning on getting one for my first pistol. This was a great video and proved that it’s a great choice. I’m getting one.
Not a great first pistol.
Don’t listen to Michael.
1. He couldn’t take 5 minutes to explain or provide alternatives.
2. Get what you want as a first pistol. Learn that. Two things will happen: you’ll learn to shoot while making memories, and you’ll learn what you want in your second pistol.
3. Get what you want and what you’re willing to practice with.
4. Shoot as many guns of the type you want as you can and pick your favorite.
@@vipe650r it's an amazing pistol. The reason I say it's not a good 1st pistol is.
1. Mechanically it has alot going on DA/SA with a manual safety and decoder.
2. It's a large full size pistol so ccw would be difficult. It's a very purpose driven pistol.
3. Cost, Mags, Availability of parts.
Again it's an amazing pistol but there's a ton of what I would consider to be a better 1st pistol.
@@michaelperaza1079 That makes it a great first pistol! Because you learn a lot, and you then need a second pistol. Smaller striker fired probably. Then you need a 1911 and a revolver. And then a mid sized gun too. And then... haha
@@MyPointofPew lol they are like lays potato chips. You can't just have 1, but il stick to my story. Again it's my opinion and opinions are like butt holes we all have them and they all stink lol.
I have a .45 Expert my absolute favorite gun. If you find one buy it. The single action trigger is truly something that needs to be experienced.
I’ve had my USP .45 for about 4 years now. Most reliable pistol I’ve ever fired. Love my H&K. That price tag doe…
Buy once cry once
@@Dex916 damn right. Better to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
Yah get what you pay for in all reality!
@@mylesharvey6488 this is true. I would DEFINITELY spend the money again and buy it.
Is the USP line still in production? Like Outlaw says, they're so rare it seems that's the case
The Expert is my all time favorite pistol. I own 4. Won competitions with it.
Which variants do you own?
@@5jjt 3 in .45 & one in 9mm. Also own Elite, one in each caliber. Also own other HKs.
I'm in the market for my first 9mm and want the most accurate HK, would you say this one is it with your experience?
@@joshaustin7419 Absolutely. My favorite of the USP family
I do not have many regrets in life, but one that I do have was selling my HK USP Tactical. It was the best gun I've ever owned.
You can get a jet funnel and 18 rnd mags for faster reloads and more capacity. They help balance the gun better, and the 18 rnd mags being weighted help dropping them on reloads. Hk parts makes +5 base plates to take you to up to 20 rnds but I’m not sure if they work with the jet funnel if you go that route.
Chris, Your shooting skill is just Legendary! Hitting at 130 yrds with a pistol is Amazing. That was a really good shooter. I have never had a chance to shoot an HK Pistol but I definitely will first chance I get. Mrs. Outlaw was looking Pretty and dropped those pop ups like a champ too. I saw the new Swag and will pick some up next month.
Congratulations on the subscribers milestone. You and your wife do great work and I love your reviews!
Metal Gear Solid made me fall in love with HK.
You can use the hk45c large magazine release. Makes a WORLD of difference
Nice acquisition. I’ve owned the P2000V3, VP9, VP9SK, and the HK45C ever since those models were first introduced. I have yet to have my first reliability issue. Of the ones I own my HK45C is my favorite.
Seriously impressive! Your eyesight must be well above average. I'm only a bit of an amateur shooter, and I don't mean to dis any brand or model, but I don't like "glock style" triggers. They feel "mushy" to me, and the distraction of this affects my accuracy.
I get my best results from a classic 45 frame and trigger. I like the fact that this gun has a similar trigger pull, also it appears to be narrow, in the same way as the 45. I think I would like one of these.
HK USP 45 full size was the first handgun I bought back in the late 90's. Fell in love with HK after that. The worst part of this gun is the magazine springs. I replace mine every couple years. The best modification you can do to this gun is changing out the DA/SA trigger to the light LEM. Lighter trigger pull and shorter reset. It's an easy factory modification you can do in about 15 min.
I've handled the LEM on two occasions. I'll never own an LEM.
HK VP9sk is my edc. I can run all kinds of trash through it and still have never had a failure. I’ve had my eye on the Expert for some time, this review just increases my urgency. Great vid as always, Go Hawks!
Definitely worth it if you can find one. I’m just thankful HK still produces them. If not, the prices would be stupid
@@rickhunter6513 when I first held the USP, I became an HK guy. When I bought a VP9, I was hooked. I sold off my Glock and S&WMP and bought the VP9sk
I still have a Sig, but I decided at that point to move as many firearms to a 9mm so I could stock ammo, not break the bank and not have to hunt for all kinds of different calibers. Now I only have 4 types of ammo to look for- 9mm, 12g, 30-30 and .270 The last 2 types I can’t ever find and if I can, I’m paying $2+ a round.
Looks like a fine pistol, but I'm in awe of the shooting! Hits at 130 yds. offhand with an iron-sighted handgun?? Unreal. Love your reviews!
Great insight and love the passion man! You rock it!
"Good job, Honey; you're impressive too." This was my favorite part of the video.
Just seen the small section of slide serrations at the rear of the slide. Not bad but should have front slide serrations. Big fan of slide serrations.
An OEM jet funnel will aid in mag changes, add some length to the grip and will help counterbalance the heavy slide a bit. Only caveat is that you'll have to use the more expensive 18-rd mags.
Yes. It's not even complete.
Accientally drop one of the jetfunnel mags and all ur rounds are going on the floor
I use both the standard mag and the 18 round mags without the jet funnel, the 18s work fine and still give you a little something for your little finger.
The jen funnel maxwells really are nice. I picked mine up at hkparts for under $60 and they're a snap to install. Aside from the added capacity, I think they really top off the aesthetics nicely. Yes you can use the larger mags without the jet funnel, but looking good counts.
I've had an H&K USP .40 for over 21 years. I love it and will be looking for this one now. Thanks for the videos
Best .40S&W handgun ever made !
I have one as well. The ergonomics are impeccable and I haven't had any issues outside of the mags being a little picky on certain ammo. I may eventually carry something more compact but I'll never part ways with this one.
What's your opinion of the HK VP40?
Considering it with a 357 Sig barrel swap.
They make the expert in .40 but they are rarer you can find one though. Good luck sir
@@ProudFudd I'd love one but I think my trigger is now much nicer than the expert. The DA is smoother than original but the SA is nearly 1911 specs.
The issue you had with the rear sight, is exactly why I have a sight pusher sitting in the safe.
Nice video like the others, I have been watching you since quiet a lot of time, and the only tipps I would recommend is for you to get a camera stabiliser like the DJI’s one, it would be much easier to get less camera shaking and it would also be easier for your wife (which already filme really good!) to get better shots and focus
Nah we’re good but thanks!
I belive the first polymer handgun was the h&k vp70 but I could be wrong.
Bingo !!! I saw that a few days ago watching some Glock history. H&K had it beat by about 15+ yrs....haha yeah 😆 🤣 😅 😂. 😬 oopps...it was 12 yrs.....haha 😄 🤣!!!
@@richards.2690 HK, first striker fired polymer frame handgun too
Just got a .45 USP “Elite,” and found that some light target handloads need a very hard grip to function. Good factory ball, +P, and .45 Super, always work.
I can provide a bit of explanation for this. The recoil spring assembly is different on the .45 Tactical, Expert and Elite (which is the most ridiculous one, but also the coolest one. I mean, *look at it!*). It is much heavier total spring weight than a regular full size. If you remove the captured recoil spring assembly and compare it to a regular .45 full size recoil spring you will see a cosmetic difference at the rear most portion where it hooks into the underside of the barrel, there is a noticable cut that travels the circumference of that area of the recoil spring assembly. That indicates that is the heavier recoil spring assembly that is exclusive to those. I think it's inclusion on the Expert and Elite is silly but on the Tactical it is of merit. Shooting a suppressed handgun will be exposing the recoil spring assembly and by extension every other part of the pistol assembly to much higher operating pressures.
Or maybe you know all of this already. I have absolutely no idea. That could be an explanation. Without more info it is mere muse.
"Military grade"?
In the context of small arms, "Military grade" is synonymous with "good enough".
"Military grade" = "It doesn't suck".
I'm quite sure that USP is better than that.
Mil spec= lowest bidder after all.
@@kangaroomaniac9732 Lowest bidder that meets milspec.
Ugh….I’ve been trying to dodge seeing this gun as to not relapse
I was waiting for an interview about this pistol, thank you ! I first shot the HK Expert back in 2002. Fell in love but back then I couldn’t afford one. Finally was able to pick one up with the “jet funnel” 10 years ago. Easily one of my absolute favorite pistols to shoot. It’s chunky, the ergos aren’t the greatest but it’s an amazingly soft shooter with outstanding accuracy.
my usp 45 rides around in an emergency bag with me always...little too big for carry but if things went bad i would like to have it with me
Wow! That's great. My HK USP Compact .40cal is my favorite pistol to shoot. I got it as one of my first guns after getting my CWP. Was around $1000. All because Jack Bower carried one on "24" lol. Haven't regretted it since. I can't wait to try this badass piece of hardware. Im jealous.
Awesome video. Great shooting as always. You’re making my Christmas list longer and more expensive!
I just started watching your channel a few months ago and decided to buy my first CZ. Super pleased.
CZ sp01 tactical suppressed. 🤘🇺🇸🦅
Cz builds great guns i now have 3 (p01,97bd, shadow2 orange)
Great video! I have an H&K USP Compact .45 ACP that I bought in 2000. It is the most accurate pistol I own and has NEVER malfunctioned with over 3500 rds through it. Because of that gun, I bought a P30 SK with the light LEM trigger for my EDC. I have about 1700 rds through it now and have had NO malfunctions and this pistol is also very accurate.
Finally grabbed a USP .45 Tactical last year as my Holy Grail pistol to go with my USP compact in .357 sig. Love these pistols.
I’m a big fan of the USP series. I have the regular and Elite models in 45. Might eventually pick up 9mm versions but wanting to get some other wants first.
The first gun I ever bought was a USP 40. I've had it 21 years now and it still shoots amazingly. I love it.
I own a USP .45 and USP .40C and the only issues I've ever had with ammo is with remanufactured or the cheapest kind as well. Otherwise the only gun that's more accurate than my .45 is my 1911. Great channel sir, really enjoy your content.
Great video Chris & Mrs. Outlaw and yes, you’re impressive too! Edit: just secured mine this morning! Also, if you can find one they seem to be going for $1299-$1400. I paid $1414 for mine. Like you said, it’s all about how bad you want it. Quick update: Picked her up this morning, and wow! I've never shot a pistol so accurately in my life, and I absolutely love the trigger; very, very smooth. The grip is the worst thing about it; not very ergonomic. I grabbed the jet funnel kit, a few of the 18 round mags, the GG&G rail adapter, a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight (I actually really like the stock sights though, but a fiber optic front will complete it), and some granular Talon Grips (grip is a little slippery when the sweat starts). Such an iconic and cool pistol!
Congratulations Guy's! You Deserve Many More Subscribers!
On my list. You will instantly know the difference between these modern plastic guns compared to real pistols like this one.
I carry a USPc in 9mm, my highschool graduation gift from my dad
The USP Expert is brilliant. Just wrapped up my review of it compared to the tactical and standard. Such a wonderful pistol. Have mine set up as a hybrid match LEM.
So I know you love the cz shadow 2. If a guy was going to buy one expensive handgun which would you recommend? Cz or h/k ? Thx
I think now just the USP tactical is being made. Unless they make so few they no longer list it. Either way needs a reworked magazine to hold 17 rounds at least for that size grip frame. Still very nice.
Greetings from the H&K country. ;)
Amazing video once again! Thank you for all the no BS content!
I just wanted to second all the begging here for a long term review of the USP Expert.
Maybe with an included comparison to your beloved CZ Shadow 2...
Would be awesome!
I wish I could give three thumbs up...one, for him Not reviewing a Canik or some other knockoff...two, for him Not reviewing a $4000 2011...three, for just plain doing a good review.
Absolutely right on!
Love HK but I always compare them with Walther, I often wonder why Walther misses that market and won't produce a .45 with a 5in barrel as well, HK not only does that but with all the features as well what a shooter. .
Can’t decide if I want it in 9mm or .45
I have P30’s, P30L’s, VP9’s P30sk/VP9sk all in 9mm
And the usp compact and HK45c in .45
Anyone have the expert in both 9 and 45?
Jesus Christ, I wouldn’t spend a dollar on Phoenix Ammunition bro , that was awful.
I will never spend my money on a USP. The H&K USP in .40 cal was my duty gun for over 10 years. It was by far the worst pistol I've ever shot. It was overly heavy. Terrible ergonomics. And the trigger was an atrocious 10 pound gritty pull. The pistol had way more recoil impulse than other comparable manufacturers. Everyone in our department had constant malfunctions with them. Typically, stove pipes and double feeds. Our weapons were all held to H&K's maintenance schedule. The only thing good I could say about the pistol is that once the bullet left the gun, they were pretty accurate. I, and most everyone in our department, hated the gun. It put me off for the USP for life.
Where is the 1000 round review from the usp expert?
Had the mark 23 and wasn't impressed. Big and bulky but had a cool look.
Definitely not a concealed carry gun
Hey best greetings from Germany.
Do you plan to upload a long term HK USP Expert review?
Thank you for your entertaining channel :).
I wish that H&K would retrofit their existing line of pistols with optics ready versions.
And standard pic rails…
@Chris G LOL - Good point!
An optic ready P30/P30L and optic ready usp experts would be awesome
@@K-bob_45 totally agree!
I had an HK USP 40 that was a tack driver & I saw one at the gun shop with night sights so I traded in my tack driver for it & it wasn't worth a damn. Really loved that USP even in 40 S&W.
You had to add cash to that trade. So why not just buy sights and have them installed at the shop? I've made gun purchase mistakes but man that's a tough one.
"You're impressive too honey" that was super sweet. You two are awesome. Love the video
I never shot this pistol, but did get an opportunity to shoot the HK 45 Tactical, that we rented with a suppressor. It shot extremely well and the best part is the 45 ACP ammo doesn’t need a special type of ammo to run suppressed. HK does makes some great pistols, but I was disappointed with the PK30 after your review, so I took it off my wish list.
I am getting used to waiting for the end... you guys are too much fun. The gun looks good, glad Chris was happy after the wait.
Finally bought this tonight after years and years of being on my list. My first pistol 21 years ago was a usp 9mm and it’s fantastic. I can imagine this only cause I bought it online and am waiting to pick it up. I’m happy to finally get this in the safe where it belongs with my other pistols. I don’t know why I waited for this classic. It’s a tried and true platform. Hk is a beast for certain. Thank you for tipping me over the edge to scoop this up.
Had 3 squibs with reman fenix ammo
@Honest Outlaw, if you liked the Expert, you should try the Elite and you will adore it. It is going one notch beyond even the Expert. Right now the only place to get an Elite in 9mm is GB.
For the magazine capacity, you have an Expert model without the Jet Funnel. You can add one to the pistol and then use the special 18 round magazines. As the Jet Funnel is like an extension and magwell, it will give you more to hold on.
For the trigger reset, Grayguns have an aftermarket short reset system that will cut the distance the trigger has to travel forward noticeably. You should try that once you are done with the 1000 round review.
For the softest shooting USP, IMHO that would be an USP 45 with Elite or Expert conversion upper to 9mm from HK directly.
I wish I could have a 9mm conversion unit for my USP45 Elite, .45ACP is still too expensive for me to shoot regularly. All my HK pistols are 9mms except for my USP45, USP45 Elite and Mark 23, and those three don't see the range much unfortunately.
@@servicerifle16 Call HKCS on the phone and order one. :-)
There is a long wait usually, but it is what it is.
If you have enough money for those pistols you have enough for ammo. How many can you carry at a time?
@@whiskeytangofoxtrot9403 I bought the 23 and Elite when I was being paid by Uncle Sugar, now that I'm out of the military I have much less play money. Those are all range toys except for the regular USP which is one of my house guns, for carry I use a P2000.
I'll stick with MP 2.0. Same performance for less.
Smart. HKs are highly overrated
@@silverbackgorilla2112 10000+ rounds so far, cleaning twice, without a malfunction. Enough said
Love my HK’s…they’re all tackdrivers
your wife sounds like the purest human being ever.
Sweet gun. I feel like you had a bad experience with Freedom Munitions a while back, but I think they make great stuff and have never been disappointed. I gotta say I’ve never been let down by any of the Federal loads either and I’ve shot 10’s of thousands of rounds.
So which would you go with? CZ Shadow 2 or HK USP Expert???
Not gonna lie, alot jealous here, that's a dream gun for me.
You know you got some truly trash ammo if a usp cant even cycle it.
Wear a USP40 frequently, wore it to church yesterday actually. Great sidearm. It has my complete trust. Have it in V.3. Decocker only.
H&K VP70 possibly the first plastic pistol. LOL
I absolutely love mine and it's one of my favorite pistols. I scored mine off of Gunbroker and as someone said, buy once, cry once. While not as sexy as the Stocatto or CZ TSO, it will definitely hang with them as far as accuracy goes.
I still love my Arex Rex01
Any chance of the 1000 round review being in the works ?
Appreciate the heads up on ammo. I was looking at Fenix yesterday, but didn't find their prices that great. I would definitely been disappointed after buying if I had that many F ups. That was some impressive shooting.
I'm pretty sure he misspoke. I think he meant Freedom munitions, not Fenix. As far as I know Fenix doesn't even sell reloads. I've never heard anyone complain about Fenix.
Yeah I wish I still had my HK USP 9MM that I was able to hit pie plates at 100 with.
My H&K USP 9 was the second pistol I added to my collection. I got mine for new for about $950 at the time. Beautiful firearm. The beefy slide adds some recoil in the 9mm version in my opinion but maybe that’s just me. I considered selling it during hard financial times a bunch of years ago but couldn’t let it go, it’s too nice. Still holds up extremely well compared to today’s polymer-frame handguns.
Adds recoil ? A heavier gun and mechanism reduces recoil. The same .357 mag round fired out of a tiny little 5 shot snub nose wheelgun is about 3x the felt recoil of the exact same round fired out of a big heavy desert eagle . The weight and heavy slide soak the recoil RIGHT up.
Another great review !! Thank the wifey for her comments on your awesomeness....haha yeah 😆 🤣 😅 OMG, I guess this one has to go on my list of Must Have .haha 😄
I own an HK USP in 9mm. It’s accurate, reliable and honestly one of the best handguns in the market.
I want a USP 45acp Expert so bad it hurts. Its way better than the FN 45. Congrats on your new purchase!
Ammo change is key and also glad you bring light on the situation of what you pay for is what you get in ammo wise!!!!
Only gun witch makes me wish I had hands of giant. Maybe we see hk vp9 match or soon?
surprised that HK is still making USP's
I'm almost going to buy my 4th USP.
These things are the definition of a war gun, and there's nothing I'd rather trust my life with.
