I carried a USP45 the last 11 years of my career. My old department finally changed to the Sig 320 this year. The old USP's were still going strong but the department wanted to get something modern. We bought our first USP's in 1999, and those first guns are still functioning fine, over 20 years later. Most of the spare parts, actually practically all of them, that I bought in 1999 never had to be used.
And yet most of the “other” guns are in a trash heap because they were shot out. Sadly my agency carried a 92fs (mine was brand new and never had any problems). The FBI had to return their “Perfect” pistol back to Georgia because stupid slides kept falling off! My dad’s agency just got rid of their P2k’s for “custom” guns from the “Perfect” shop. All those custom features were only available on the full size and everyone got issued the 19, and the original contract was for each officer to get all 3 sizes. Instead if they want the 26 they have to purchase it themselves.
@Tony Hayeck not that I know of. We did have to put stronger mag springs in them when we hung lights on them. That was a common problem when people first started adding lights. There was less muzzle flip, which made the slide work a little faster. Glock had to change their springs for the same reason. Once we did that they were pretty much bulletproof. We allowed guys to carry other weapons and quite a few went to 1911's and Glock 40's. The guys that went to Glocks usually did so for a smaller grip circumference. Some guys just wanted the newest toy on the block. Cops go through fads just like everyone else, lol
I have the USP 9 full-size, and I'm so emotionally attached to the gun, it's ridiculous. It was originally introduced to me when I was a kid (SWAT 3, MGS 2, Rainbow Six); it was quite literally my childhood dream gun. All of your reasons are shared by many, myself included.
I understand, bud. I am that way with the Beretta 92 series. Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, John Woo movies, etc. I thought it was the coolest looking gun ever made. When I finally bought one, I also found that it was ridiculously accurate, reliable, and just as cool as I had thought. I own other guns, but I too am far too emotionally attached to this gun. I just bought the USP 9 Full-Size about a month ago, love it and have been putting lots of rounds through at the range. I also have an H&K P2000 9mm compact that I use for concealed carry, its about the size of a glock 19.
This has to be my favorite video that you have made. I appreciate the sheer honesty and love for the HK USP and MERCEDES G WAGON. Two of my personal favorites. You have come from someone who didn't know about guns to someone who is now able to express and defend his passion for guns. I'm glad you joined our community. @@FedUpVet I have the same gun as you but mine has the stainless steel slide, not all black handgun. I switched out the sights to trijicon night sights.
First semi auto pistol I ever bought, a German made USP full size in .40S&W in the 2 tone. By and far the most dependable gun I’ve ever shot. It goes bang every time all the time. It’s more accurate than just about any non custom striker fired gun, certainly more accurate than me. I can’t remember it ever failing to go into battery, as I’ve watched countless guys have slap the back of their “Perfect” pistol because it didn’t fully seat. Dropping the slide is 1,000% like a bank vault, nobody I’ve ever handed it to had ever disagreed with that. Some complain about the huge by modern standards controls, at least until they run it and they no long have to fight tiny controls. The biggest gripe they usually have is the European style paddle mag release. I have small hands so I use the middle finger in my firing hand. She stays in Condition 1 all day every day. Until I got a smaller EDC pistol she was my only defensive carry gun inside a Crossbreed Super Tuck. About the only guns I’ve found better are good 1911’s and old school CZ’s. My biggest complaint is the lack of availability of magazines.
USP .45 suppressed is where its at. It shoots soft and packs a nice punch at short range. I have never fired a USP in 9mm suppressed so I cannot speak for that aspect.
@@DaedalusHelios indeed it is! I have somewhere around 30-35 suppressed pistols and the USPT45 with Osprey45 is still, to this day, one of the most enjoyable to shoot!
It is reliable and all that matters is that you train and that you like it. Does the gun fire a bullet when you pull the trigger? If so, it's all good.
I bought my HK USP 45 in 1995 the 1st yr. they made them. Still looks brand new. I love this gun it is my first gun. This gun will always stay in the family.
Moved from Cali to AZ and was looking for my first gun. Came a cross an HK UPS 9 and bought it, Not knowing to much about it and come to find out that this gun is beloved by a whole bunch of people. That's cool!! Stay safe 2A brothers and sisters!
My first firearm purchase was a USP40 in stainless in 1997. I've had a little trigger work done and finally changed the recoil spring this year. It is the most reliable mechanism I have ever owned. I carry a P2000 daily. Occasionally, I hike with my USP40. It is the easiest shooting gun I own and far more reliable than my P226. The Sig jammed once in the two boxes of American brass ammo I fed it. The USP40 jammed in 1999 while eating steel Russian crap. The USP's just run. H&K's just run. I have 5.
I own 3 HK Mark 23's. One to carry, one in my safe as a "backup", and a 3rd, well, I guess because I just love those guns..!! Two have custom tritium night sights installed on them, along with Surefire X-400/U (green laser) 1,000-lumen weapon lights installed on GG&G pic rail adapters. 17-round, extra-capacity mags complete the picture. Needless to say, I'm not "under-gunned"...! :-)
@@northwoodsdad7506 Here’s how I decided on mine. I had the range master give me four guns to rent. I didn’t pay attention to the name or the price. I just went with what fired best and what felt the best. The VP9 was the hands-down winner. Range master laughed when I picked one of the most expensive selections LOL.
Inused to work in a gun shop yeara ago. 3 years ago I wanted to get another 9mm. I went to a gun shop and I tried 7-8 striker fired, polymer framed pistols. Hand fir side trigger feel. The HK won hands down. With 3 sets of grip panels and back strap offers 27 combinations. That came home with me.
I totally understand. A while back I acquired a USP Expert and really enjoyed shooting that pistol. I decided I needed something smaller that I could carry and got the USP Tactical. I really liked that pistol so I decided that I “needed a bigger boat” and now the Mark 23 is part of the collection. There are a lot of great modern pistols out there but there is something special about HK specially the USP series.
HK USP IS A LITERAL TANK!!! As much as i love my Staccatos and everything else, theres something about my USP that will always make it to my top 5 handguns of all time.
The first version of this video heavily influenced me to get my USP .45 Years later, it is still influencing me to get one, but in 9mm. Stop doing this to me!
I love everything H&K from the MP5 to the USP. I'm Retired Marine Corps Force Recon i carried an H&K USP 45 on both my Deployments in Iraq and my 3 Deployments in Afghanistan they are are the most dependable pistols I've used to include the Colt 1911 45 that was issued to me. I carry a USP 9 full size myself and your right they are absolutely beautiful.
My first gun was a USP 9mm. I bought it in 2019 knowing it was used, but I didn’t know how old it actually was. To me, it just fit my hand, I could shoot it well, and it’s a quality firearm. I found out later that it was actually made in 1994. That said, it’s still running just as strong as the day it was built.
Everything in this video is just 'yes'. I've had my USP .40 for 20 years now, never has it jammed/failed, nor required aut than cleaning. I can't remember how many rounds I've put through it, but I do know that it's my favorite to shoot by far.
They are not only awesome, they are now considered collectible. I have the USP Custom Combat OD in .40 and it is my nightstand gun. They are quite simply marvelous.
As someone who owns an HK and drove G63 (very slowly last week) I can relate to this video. Seriously, the doors on that G63 close with such reassurance, you wont want any other doors on your automobile
I Carry the HK USP Compact in 40 with the LEM trigger. I have no worries carrying with one in the chamber, the Long first trigger pull takes getting use to but the reset is quick and follow up shots come quick. They where issued to us at work and once we all got use to them it will be hard to give up. Love mine
I just put a deposit on one. Usp40 full size with the lem trigger. The pull feels a bit heavy but I like the pistol. Is the heavy pull normal for the lem trigger?
@@mattdg1981 yes that first pull is double action the reset will come pretty quick and follow up shots will be a bit lighter. Just spend some time with it .
Picked up a HK pistol at a gun show. Fit everything I wanted in I pistol. Wanted a 45. Went to the firearm store and met an ex police officer retired. Talked me into the 40 by his experiences. Never Have Regretted Buying it. Yes ! Expensive! Yes!? Worth it?! Yes!!!
I have 5 USP's, the full-size 9 is my go-to gun when headed out on a road trip. It's big, but its got 40K+ rounds thru it with zero problems. I trust it every time I've used it.
Have had my USP 40 ever since i turned 21 (10 years now), i have so many other guns from all the brands that come to mind, Glock, Springfield, Beretta etc. and none and i mean none feel like the HK USP feels in my hand. Like you said, its mechanical and just feels so right as it cycles, let alone i have put thousands of rounds through it clean, dirty, it never jammed/malfunctioned. I cant say thst about the rest of the guns i own. I also have a special place in my heart for my USP, first pistol to own and just so much fun. I constantly get compliments from friends who have shot 40 out of other pistols, then they try my USP and they are literally in shock at how smooth and nice it feels (i remind them the USP was built to run that cal)
I own a .40 sig P229 enhanced elite. Didnt want to purchase the USP because of its trigger, is the most horrible da/sa trigger ive tried, have You changed yours?
@@tacuazinful no and honestly I wouldn’t even consider it. Maybe it’s because I have had it forever and thousands of rounds through it, I’m extremely accurate with it, so I don’t mind the trigger at all tbh.
I completely understand the emotional attachment. My first handgun was a 1911A1 clone, and it is still one of my most favorite - mostly because I'm just so accurate with it. But my favorite, hands down, is the CZ-75. It just feels so *right* in my hands and, as a result, I'm accurate with it also. Plus, I think it is one of the most beautifully styled handguns of all time. And, as irrational as that may seem, it matters to me.
I've never handled that firearm but, a lot of the things you like about it is why I like my Beretta PX4. I have installed trijacon tritium night sights, it is double action/ single action and has a large capacity. I also shoot that gun very accurately which I attribute to the rotating barrel/ recoil design.
I just recently found you and enjoy your videos . I am new to gun ownership and tend to buy a gun before knowing much about it. I am 73 with small hands. Love listening to you. You speak so clearly I can understand you without hearing aids. Thank you for being there for us
I have to agree with you, the H&K USP'S are one of my favorite pistols. I'm not a fan of Glock's or most pistols without a external safety. Even though the best safety is your Tigger finger staying off the trigger.
Bro I love how you geek out on guns and cars this is exactly how my mind works. My friends look at me and just shake their heads when I start geeking out on my guns or anything I have a passion for. Most of the time In the end they tell me how they never looked at it from my point of view and it just enriches their experience. Can’t help it my mind just works that way.
I have a 357 model 60 S&W revolver I feel about it the same way! It’s just a little carry gun when I’m doing the chores around the house! I put it in my pocket and it spends most of the time in my hoodie front pouch! So I understand! Some people think revolver’s are not even a firearm! I love it 😍
I love my USP's. HK needs a "Gen2" updated version with Picatinny Rail, radiused safety, optics plate, improved trigger. I wish more holster manufacturers offered USP light bearing (X300/TLR-7A) compatible holsters (w. TB option too).
this is the comment, this is the one id be open to actually buying one they are undeniably great handguns that need only be modernized to be back on top
I have the same attachment to my fnp which is super similar to the usp. I have had it for 13 years now, and it's still my go too for daily carry and getting home. Even though it's not my only or nicest gun by far. I still love it even though the night sights are getting dim and I have thousands of rounds through it. It's never malfunctioned and the springs are still like new in the mags and they are always loaded. There is something to say about guns like that though, when get attached and comfortable with them, you become so much more effective with them, they become part of you, not an extension of your hand but like actually your hand.
The thing I love is the honesty; your not saying it's the best gun or anything just what you love. Glad I subscribed a long time ago. You base reviews and videos off of your opinions and not paid advertising. Keep it up man. Your a great advocate of the 2A community.
I feel exactly the same about my carry HK P30sks. DA/SA with a thumb safety. As you said; 'it ain't a glock' and that's part of the reason why I love it!
RC: That thumb safety is EXACTLY why I intensely dislike Glocks..! Look, none of us really expects someone to grab or snatch our gun away from us, but occasionally, it does happen. I'm 69, and I'm not so delusional as to think that "that could never happen to me..!!" Massad Ayoob, years ago, did a test wherein he put an unloaded but cocked and locked 1911 pistol in front of several gun "neophytes" who had never fired a pistol before. He timed how long it took each person to figure out how to pull the trigger & fire the gun. The AVERAGE time..? 25 seconds..!! That's enough time to either flee & seek cover, and/or go for a backup gun..! Documented fact: out of all the law enforcement officers annually in this country who are shot with their OWN gun, just over 80% of them were carrying Glocks..! Gaston Glock invented that pistol and designed it to be used on a battlefield - a "military" battlefield. An arena wherein there is little or no "civil liability". Massad Ayoob once said years ago that if he were the Chief of Police of a large metropolitan city, he would never authorize his officers to carry Glocks unless they had been trained in handgun retention classes - at the instructor level...!! Why? Simple. If your Glock is snatched or wrestled away from you & the bad guy decides to shoot you with it, you are well and truly fucked. A proprietary safety is there to save lives - your life..! Food for thought...!!
I had a USP .45 tactical. Wish I still had it. I'd have a muffler for it. And yes USP is one of those tools that everything about it just screams I will be here when you need me. Heck it would be my carry tool.
Shear quality. That is why people still love the USP. Guns today are made quickly and cheaply to satisfy the latest market fad. This gun was made to last and to get you home safely. She could use an update, but she is still a beauty and very capable
I think it would be interesting to see you review some of the "prepper" guns like the AR-7 or the Rugger 10/22 take down and see your thoughts on them for a go bag even though you are not a prepper
I know what your saying I am the same way but with the Beretta M9/92. some people don't like them but I love them and carry them as a get home gun. It points well for me action so smooth. Love the way it looks and feels in the hand.
Feel you man, I can tell how old that pistol is because of the add on rail. I bought my USP40 back in summer of 95/96 just after high school. I legit had to have my dad buy it for me and carried a note to go to and from the range. The gun is now going on 26/27 years old 😳 It has never failed me once. I have more guns than fingers and toes; you come thru my door it’s that H&K that’s feeding you Pb pills.
The USP was the first HK I bought and used extensively. The love for HK just grew from there to the other lines, even their P7. Absolutely the best quality.
I totally understand the love of HK USPs. I've thought about selling mine a few times now and buying a newer 9mm that's a little easier to find accessories for. But I just can't bring myself to.
The best firearm for you is always the one that you can shoot and shoot well enough to hit the target. No one is coming to your gun fight, make sure it’s a gun you can shoot. I fell in love with my uncles browning high power. He bought it in 1980 used. It’s an awesome gun. I love the Springfield xdm mod 2. It was my first gun and I can shoot that thing really well. I don’t care what other people think about the gun I love it.
Ive had mine for over 3 yrs now. ive owned and shot just about every platform out there. This gun is far superior to just about all guns on the market. Ive nicknamed mine the pocket sniper rifle. with other platforms you'd easily have to spend $300-$400 on aftermarket parts just to get it to perform similar to a usp. However i will admit the gun definitely has some quirks.
Whatever gun you are comfortable with and can rely on is the best one. That was one of the first things I learned when I became a gun owner. Please keep up the good work. You speak words of wisdom
I feel the same way about my USP 45 Tactical. There is no better example of a "combat" handgun, especially when you consider the amount of special operation units across the world that have used them. My USP 45 Tactical is my "to hell and back" gun.
I have the USP 9mm full-size. I 100% agree with you, Colion. It's my everyday carry firearm, I'm at the point that is a natural extension of my arm when I use it on the range. Thank you for making this video.
That USP 9 is a beauty. My main weapon is a Kimber 1911, which is not the most practical gun available in 2021, but it works for me. I totally get the whole "emotional attachment" concept.
The Hurt & Kill USP also has this wonderful idiosyncrasy of racking forward from slide lock when a fresh mag is slammed in when your in a hurry due to being in a serious social encounter. Just one more thing to love about them.
I feel the same way about my Arex 01S. It's an old school DA/SA all metal pistol that's built like a tank but for me is the perfect size and weight gun that feels very comfortable riding on my hip. In my opinion the toughest most reliable pistol on earth.
The only thing tonight do not like about the VP9 or any of the VP series is the trigger assembly clip. Mine has broken four times in the last three years. It's a piece of plastic. So right now as I'm writing this I have a gunsmith working on making one of those clips out of spring steel. Hoping that it will work.
@@jennifernelson9763 I have no idea. First time it broke I only had 50 rounds through it. Second time it broke I had over a thousand rounds through it. There are $5 a piece. So if I can get one made out of the spring steel I'll never have to replace it again I hope. It's the only plastic piece in the gun.
USP Compact 40 owner here and it was very first gun purchase. Everything you said here I totally agree. Wish it was more versatile as I have a laser/light on it but no holster. I’m a minimalist so searching for something to accommodate my current setup is long live challenge
I usually carry an HK P30 with decocker and safety and then I have an HK VP9 in my truck. They take the same mags so to me that's practical. I'm about to snatch a USP V3 Expert when my wife aint lookin because daddy needs another pistol.
Totally relate on this one. I have a USP compact with steam light on it that’s been my dedicated truck “beater” gun for a long time. I just feels comfortable and comforting when I hold it in my hands and I’m confident in where my rounds are going with if even under stress. I do t realistically ever see myself replacing it unless something happens to it, and then one of my other USPs will replace it
They are utilitarian for sure. Beasts! Bulky, chunky, etc. etc. BUT after 6200 rds through my USP 45 with 1 FTF that was totally ammunition related, its the gun I will never part with! If I could only have one handgun and I was going into a fight for my life, my USP is coming with me!
I understand exactly what you are saying. I feel the same about the FN509. I constantly trade out of guns but the FN I just love it. It does everything so well and you can always trust it.
Great video. I have a love affair with the HK45 as well. It's purely emotional as well. I cannot shoot it as well (timed drills) as a 1911 but there is just... "something about" HK. Hell, I don't know when the last time I shot it. But I've not ever thought of parting with it... just because.
@@MrSmith-zy2bp Gave up trying to get one for the simple reason that the tan Mk 23's came without chrome-lined barrels. Not sure if replacement barrels are chrome-lined, either.
Seen a uspc today for the first time today and didn't know anything about it, but after checking it out on the youtubes, I was on the fence about it. But after watching this vid, and your mechanical description of the functions of the pistol, I'll be pulling the trigger on it. Thanks for the entertaining content.
H&K USP 45Compact was my first EDC . It is RELIABLE!!! Its gonna go to work. And through the years i have collected any i can get my hands on :) And yes Colion they are built like a tank. But i recently Purchased a sig 365XL. Brand new, guess what it jammed up several times before reaching 250 rounds. I am still carrying my HK p2000sk 40. Reliable!!! Colion keep up the good work brother!
I like how you admitted to just being attached. Guns have a way of becoming family, lol. Ive had my Glock 22 since 1994 and rather attached. It was my first pistol at age 19. Used it for IPSC.
I had a USP Tactical in this exact role and it was recently replaced by a P30 V1. It was hard to put "Liberty" in the safe but I feel I've made the right choice. I shoot the P30 wayyy better.
@@Saanonymous80 I have to disagree with you. A rock over a Hi-Point..? No. I've never owned one, but I fired one at a pistol range once - the owner let me shoot a magazine through it. Sure, it's a 9mm blowback gun & it's got a recoil spring in it that could've come from the suspension of a railroad locomotive..! But it's still "shootable" and it's better than no gun at all. You'd rather have a rock..?? I can sure see how much you train..!!
I started USPSA in '99 with the only thing I had high-caps for...a USP 9mm. I had two 17 rounders and one with a base plate that made it a 21 round magazine. That was insane for back then. I love that gun. Thanks, Rainbow Six for exposing me to this great line of paycheck draining firearms.
That's TOTALLY okay. Everyone has their shit. And im sure it will serve you well if you need it. That's all that matters. They are tools. We use what works for us. I have many but carry a G19. To each their own. But I'd hate to be the fool that F's around and finds out. Training trumps everything.
@@TomFox1 personally whichever you practice the most with. Having a nice gun (which both are) doesn't mean you will prevail in a REAL gunfight. Use what your confident and most proficient with
@@TomFox1 the G43x will be a little easier to carry around all day and has the same 15 round capacity with the shield arms mags (gotta switch the mag catch out tho for the steel one and can't really use factory mags after that, 10 round mags are alright tho). The G19 (I carry a G19x, G48 and a G43) will be much more controllable and easier to put shots on a target than the G43X, which is going to be much snappier, in my experience at least. So to me it's like do you want to be a little more comfortable shooting the gun (G19, G19x, G45) or more comfortable carrying the gun (G43, G43x, G48, G26)? Since I have a G48 and a G43, I can change the slides and make a G43x too. I own 6 pistols and the G19x is my favorite by far. If I'm open carrying, I prefer the G19X, if I'm conceal carrying I prefer the G43, G43x or G48. I also ankle carry the G43 during warmer weather and open carry the G48. The G19 will also come with better factory mag capacity and you can use higher capacity mags too like the 24, 31,33 round stick mags so that's a huge plus. I don't own any Sig Sauer pistols so I can't speak on shootability, but the P365 and P365xl are also great concealed carry guns
I have the same feeling for mine as well. I love my usp45 and uspc40. Comfortable to shoot, accurate, made like a tank and give me the feeling that I ha e nothing to worry about when shit hits the fan. Hk nailed it with the usp series!

Its a HK that's what you get from it.. Quality
Did your department even have to change out the springs out of your USP’s?
@Tony Hayeck not that I know of. We did have to put stronger mag springs in them when we hung lights on them. That was a common problem when people first started adding lights. There was less muzzle flip, which made the slide work a little faster. Glock had to change their springs for the same reason. Once we did that they were pretty much bulletproof.
I need that Osprey on my USP40!
It is reliable and all that matters is that you train and that you like it. Does the gun fire a bullet when you pull the trigger? If so, it's all good.
All guns are beautiful. Except for High Points.
That's a massive over simplification.

It was my first pistol back in 2001 for a reason. Still have it to this day and it will stay with me till I die.

Durable, accurate and reliabe.. love my USP 45. and my wife has come to HATE "that sound".
It is good to be over gunned!
I have a VP9 and I love it. Fits my hand like it was made for me
Some day I would love one. I rented one at the range about a year ago. Much better than a Glock and close to a 1911.
I own 3 Mark 23's - all customized. Wonderful guns..!!
HK USP IS A LITERAL TANK!!! As much as i love my Staccatos and everything else, theres something about my USP that will always make it to my top 5 handguns of all time.
The first version of this video heavily influenced me to get my USP .45
Years later, it is still influencing me to get one, but in 9mm. Stop doing this to me!

@@stevejones3383 LOL Don't worry, I would keep my .45, I just want a 9mm one as well.

Ive got a full size USP 9 and an HK45.. love them both
My first gun was a USP 9mm. I bought it in 2019 knowing it was used, but I didn’t know how old it actually was. To me, it just fit my hand, I could shoot it well, and it’s a quality firearm. I found out later that it was actually made in 1994. That said, it’s still running just as strong as the day it was built.
Exactly how I feel about my 226. Sometimes you just know when the glove fits.
I know what you mean. My 226 SAO is the most comfortable fitting gun I've held.
I hear you. If I had to grab one of my handguns to bet my life on, it would be my P226, wouldn't even have to think about it.
Amen..!
HK45, P2000SK, USP-45, MR556A1, HK416D...I ❤ all my HK's! I have carried a HK pistol daily for 18 years!

Colion’s original USP 9 video is what insoired me to buy one. Although its not a 9, I ended up buying a USP 45 Expert. It was a very good purchase.

I constantly get compliments from friends who have shot 40 out of other pistols, then they try my USP and they are literally in shock at how smooth and nice it feels (i remind them the USP was built to run that cal)

im an hk fanboy. every firearm ive ever messed with from hk is a flawless work of art. my vp9 is my main carry gun, and my usp45 is my fun gun
Hk p30l was the second gun a bought. Became fire arm owner a year before pandemic and boy was i glad it.
I love hk
Bought my usp 45 full size in 2004 and never had a problem with it and I'm still using it at the range and home protection.
Same reason I like Glocks. Timeless design due to clean and minimal design.
I have 3 USP's and just happened to come across 2 more this week that I couldn't live without. USP's will always be my favorite pistol
Thank you for being there for us
The USP is definitely a vibe. Its a tank and the moment you related it to your G63 it made perfect sense.
I literally just bought one, perfect timing

I love my USP's. HK needs a "Gen2" updated version with Picatinny Rail, radiused safety, optics plate, improved trigger. I wish more holster manufacturers offered USP light bearing (X300/TLR-7A) compatible holsters (w. TB option too).
It's called the P2000
Hk needs to make a .45 jet funnel with a 15rd mag.
this is the comment, this is the one
id be open to actually buying one
they are undeniably great handguns that need only be modernized to be back on top
Picatinny rail is what ruins handgun look to me at least. Guns without it look much better.
@@Lordofthepoors not for Condition One carry it isn't, and it's mid-sized vs. full-sized.
Trijicon HD’s are the sights. Once you go HD it’s hard to go back to regular.
I carried a USP compact for most of my adult life. It was my first carry gun, and I have always been greatful for its solid reliability.
I had a USP .45 tactical. Wish I still had it. I'd have a muffler for it. And yes USP is one of those tools that everything about it just screams I will be here when you need me. Heck it would be my carry tool.

Got a USP .40 Compact from a friend for $400.. Came with Trijicon night sights, 2 mags, and only ever had 4 rounds put through it.
Wow, you overpaid…
I'm the same way with my Beretta.
First gun I ever learned. Holds a place in my heart
I have a HK P8A1 and absolutely love it, it might not be the new kid on the block but it still holds it own.
Wow, I've had my old USP .45 for almost 24 years now. Amazing that the design is 30ish(?) years old.
I got my USP40 new in 1997. It may still be the best gun I own.
My Mark 23 design is roughly 32 years old, but one of the best guns out there..!
I have the USP 9mm full-size. I 100% agree with you, Colion. It's my everyday carry firearm, I'm at the point that is a natural extension of my arm when I use it on the range. Thank you for making this video.
I Carried an HK USP Compact in .40 S&W for 14 years. It's my bedside gun now.
That USP 9 is a beauty. My main weapon is a Kimber 1911, which is not the most practical gun available in 2021, but it works for me. I totally get the whole "emotional attachment" concept.
I love these pistols and totally get your point about being emotionally attached to them. Thank you very much for the video.
The Hurt & Kill USP also has this wonderful idiosyncrasy of racking forward from slide lock when a fresh mag is slammed in when your in a hurry due to being in a serious social encounter.
Just one more thing to love about them.
My P2000 does that. I love it.
My beretta 92s do it too. Great “feature”.
I find that the older I get, the more I'm opting for the DA/SA. Safer to holster just by keeping thumb on hammer while holstering. CZ P07, CZ RAMI.
Love my vp9s like nothing else. Never had problem with the trigger clip tho. How did yours get damaged?
What's a trigger clip? You mean the mag release?

USP Compact 40 owner here and it was very first gun purchase. Everything you said here I totally agree. Wish it was more versatile as I have a laser/light on it but no holster. I’m a minimalist so searching for something to accommodate my current setup is long live challenge

I just feels comfortable and comforting when I hold it in my hands and I’m confident in where my rounds are going with if even under stress. I do t realistically ever see myself replacing it unless something happens to it, and then one of my other USPs will replace it
I have a Gen 5 Glock 19M. Love that pistol. However, HK is badass!

Great video. I have a love affair with the HK45 as well. It's purely emotional as well. I cannot shoot it as well (timed drills) as a 1911 but there is just... "something about" HK. Hell, I don't know when the last time I shot it. But I've not ever thought of parting with it... just because.

G43x myself. But a G22 for home
@@Saanonymous80 G19 or G43x for EDC? which you recommend
