    The Beretta M9 was suppose to be on this list as an honorable mention, honestly I just forgot to mention it. The 1911 didn't make it even though I love it bc it is made by too many different manufactures with different tolerances and quality control. 1911's from Dan Wesson, Colt, Springfield and so on are great pistols but they're are a lot of duds out there as well.

      I have nothing, but stellar things to say about my Sig Sauer 1911 Tacops. It has had one failure to go into battery when using Magtech Ammunition. I’m unsure what caused the issue, it wasn’t the magazine, maybe the round before the FTGIB was under powered. It chews Blazer Brass, Federal, Barnes Tac-XPD’s, Sig V Crown, as well as Sig FMJ like a fat kid chokes down packs of oreos, I bought it used for $780 from a guy who only put 200 rounds through it. Your mileage may vary on how one of their 1911’s works out for you, or doesn’t work out for you.

    I have qualified with an M1911, M9, P226, and Glock 21 as duty weapons. All of them were reliable, but the P226 is my hands down favorite. When my PD switched to the Glock, I was able to purchase my issue P226. I have put somewhere north of 20,000 rounds through it without a single problem. I also had a CZ75 that my dad traded to me in exchange for a Smith and Wesson 5906. I loved the CZ75, but Dad did too, so after a few months he wanted to trade back. I don’t blame him. If it had been anyone other than my dad I would have told them, “Too bad!”

      the sig p226 is a great gun best i ever did shoot. my freiend had one and couldnt hit the side of a barn with it so i tried it 25 yards out as fast as i could pull the trigger emptied the clip i shot a 3" group. it took me about 3000 rounds before i was able to hit like that with my S&W 6904

  • @bbannongmu

    Definitely agree on the Sig. had a P228 (lil brother if the 226) that spent the night in a creek, underwater and in silt (long story) and found it , took it right out to the range and it shot all 14 rounds that were underwater all night and then another 300 rounds with zero malfunctions. Used sig P228 for 10 years as a duty weapon and never had a malfunction.

    Not a big target shooter... but I used a 1911A1.... would not be here without it today. It was rough to look at and use but it did the one thing I required... It kept me alive in Vietnam. All I can say is it was beloved by me and NEVER let me down... and it hit what I aimed at (no, not targets) and not a single person got back on their feet coming up against us.

    I carried my issued Browning Hi Power in the Canadian Army. The only misfire I had was ammo related. Accuracy sucked mostly due to the hundreds of thousands of rounds that went down the barrels of these workhorses. Excellent firearm. Today, I own a S&W M&P 9. Goes bang every time I pulled the trigger. I liked it so much, I bought stock in the company.

    I went around and around, reading up in search of the best gun around, and though a steel on steel gun may not be for everyone, I absolutely love my cz 75b .40. Had it for near a year, run over 1500 rounds including a variety of self defence ammo, and have not had a single failure. Warms my heart to see it at the top of this list.

    I love my PX4. I tried several guns on the range before buying it. As a noob with bigger than average hands, the .40 variant shot as well as 9mm glocks. The double action means I'm comfortable carrying with one in the chamber and safety off.
    I've only got 500 rounds through it, but basic tear down for cleaning is simple and easy. I don't store it in a bucket of mud, so envisage reliability will remain good.
    I live in CA so only have 10 round clips, so each round needs to make an impression.

I've been carrying a 75b concealed for 8 years, giving up a Springfield 1911 for it as soon as I shot it! I've taken hogs, Bobcats, & turkeys. All I added to my 75b was THX sights. Period.

    I've been carrying CZ'S for over 20 years from & I own one CZ- 82 Makarov, a 75 compact, a P01, 3 Rami's two in 9mm & 1 in 40cal. before they stopped making them, one 75 D in 40 cal. & just bought a P07 for my birthday. Next is the 750 sniper rifle once I'm done saving up for it. People laughed at me even 15 years ago when I told them what I was shooting and carrying. Way back then I said they eat every kind of ammo I put in it, it'll eat it and spit it out and keep going. I am glad to hear this weapon is getting the props it has so long deserve. I trust my life to any of my CZ's next would be my 3" Ruger GP 100.

    Definitely valid that the 1911 would not be on here because of the amount of different manufacturers that have made it over the years, but I do own a SpringField Armory 1911-A1 Mil Spec, and it is by far my favorite pistol I have ever shot. Perfect trigger and naturally points. I can hit exactly where I want when I want, and I have never had a single malfunction with it after over 2,000 rounds. I take care of it of course, but in a self defense situation, it would definitely be the gun I would go far out of all the ones I have.

    Carried a 92 on duty for ten years. No malfunctions, extremely accurate, High capacity, safe carry, second strike.( I've witnessed many high priced , over rated Sig DA/SA 226/229 etc malfunction during annual qualifications.) I suspect the Spec Ops/Seals/Elite forces get to choose and spec out their Sigs and they aren't "off the rack". They also carry the HK MRk23 and it's tactical HK .45 variants. I personally own an HK P2000SK it is the only DA/SA I consider as an option to the Italian 92F Beretta. the rest of your list is good although the Glock grip angle and tab safety isn't my cup of tea.

    • @oleboy7615
      @oleboy7615 2 года назад +3

      I have to say that, although I do love and appreciate the M9 (qualified sharpshooter with it when I didn’t know anything about pistols so I can attest is a very accurate pistol), I do not subscribe to the whole “second strike capability” theory, and for that reason I respectfully dismiss that as an advantage of a DA/SA pistol. That said, I do believe the M9 did evolve into one of the most reliable battle hardened pistols in the world, but that wasn’t always the case.
      The reason the SOF community opted for the P226 over the Beretta is b/c it was just a better gun at the time. The ONLY reason the Beretta became the M9 was b/c it was the cheaper option. Not b/c it was better. That is not to say the Sig didn’t have it’s issues. The SEALs had a hell of a time with rust, which is one reason their guns were coated, and then eventually Sig replaced the stamped carbon steel slides with milled stainless steal slides.
      However, the Beretta and Sig have both served with distinction, but both have been replaced, and rightfully so, by more modern striker fire options. It was a long time coming, IMO, simply b/c they’re just better options, especially for the masses. In my experience, striker fire pistols are much easier for beginners to master, they’re much lighter, which really matters when you’re carrying gear, and they’re really just easier to maintain and more reliable than other, older options. Cheers!

      Most accurate ... well surely they are fairly accurrate guns, but compared to the CZ Tactical Sports, several SIG models or well built 6" 1911 Models they are only average.
      But dont get me wrong, I personaly have a Shadow 2 as my competition gun (IPSC Production) putting around 1500 Rounds threw it a month and my only but still rare malfunctions only occured after I installed a 12lb hammer spring (13lb works perfectly fine). And those "more accurate guns" are all priced way higher

    Ruger P90 (.45acp) is pretty damn reliable too. Mine hasn't jammed, stovepiped, nor FTF in over 20 yrs of use. I can mix different brands of /and different projectile type ammo in one mag, fire it fast as I can pull the trigger, and it fires every time.
    While mine was made in 1997, and it is a DA/SA hammer pistol, and not striker fired, and a bit heavy by todays standards, it works for me. if it jams tomorrow, it'll the the 1st time ever. Not bad for a 21 yr old semi auto.....

      Vin Ellis ... compared to the standard model 92, in my hand the Centurion version with a shorter barrel and slide balances and points better. Personal preference

    CZ 75 is great. In all the years I've owned one I don't think I've ever had a jam, and that's including using reloads. Have literally put thousands of rounds through it.

    Gave my son my Ruger LC9-the 1st gen with the exceptionally shitty trigger. With things being what they are lately, I wanted him to have a better option. Gave him my CZ75. I've still got my P10c and P10s, but damn I do miss it a little. Meh, he's more important to me than the gun.

    IWI Jericho 941/ Aka baby desert eagle 2 semi compact is a phenomenal pistol albeit a bit on the heavy side , completely reliable and can take some serious abuse without misfire or malfunction. I think IWI is often quite overlooked

    Your opinions are worthy and many would agree with your choices,eg I count the CZ75B and the Sig226 as among the best for reliability up to a count of 5000 rounds each( my personal favorite nines) but you have not shown that your choices are the top five. SHOWN.

    CZ75B
    I love that contraption.
    Supernatural accuracy due to its reversed P210 like rails giving it a low bore axis conducive to lower recoil and muzzle flip and the damn thing is crazy reliable. Being all steel, you can literally hammer nails and still maintain incredible reliability and accuracy.

      It states most reliable. And the 1911 as stated tomany manufacture the pistol with different tolerances. Some good some not worth a damn.

    • @khempleman
      @khempleman 4 года назад +4

      @Bob that's exactly the point. Although the ones manufactured by colt have the right tolerances designed by MR. Browning the clones dont. And the amount of clones in circulation designed on slightly off spec by multiple different manufacturer is why they didn't make the list.

    • @teamcybr8375
      @teamcybr8375 4 года назад +5

      They jam a lot if not made exactly right. A good 1911 is hella reliable, but the average one is less so.

    • @teamcybr8375
      @teamcybr8375 4 года назад +6

      @Bob A 1911 is not necessarily a Colt M1911. If it is built with the exact same design, it is by definition a 1911.
