  • “Am I scaring you little girl?”
8 year old Jennifer is scared of the dark, and on the one night her mother asks her to sleep in her own room, she wakes up in the arms of a police officer carrying her out of the house in the middle of the night. The man wants her to believe that she is safe, but she realizes he doesn't have a badge as he drives off to a remote area. Later that night, her kidnapper leaves her for dead in the middle of a field after brutally attacking her, and from that moment on, Jennifer vows to remember every single detail about him in order to make sure he’s caught. Her injuries leave her unable to talk, yet she still finds a way to catch him… 19 years later.

Well the police were formed to protect property. And our prison system isn’t about justice or rehabilitation it’s about enslaving the disenfranchised to contract their labor to large corporate entities. And our government doesn’t care about the trauma so many women and children go through infact they create loopholes in the adoption system to be able to sell children and parade them on a runway with little to no questions asked selling them to strangers in a process called rehoming. This results in kids being trafficked and so many states are getting cases from prior foster kids about how they were trafficked in the system. But the government relies on the supply of traumatised low income women so they can produce more children that will either become middle class workers, low income wage workers, or imprisoned low income slaves. That’s why states are starting to have a higher sentence for abortion (in any circumstance) than rape meanwhile they lower or abolish the age for marriage to be below 18.

Anyways, the laws against trafficking are very outdated to say the least. Children under ten are working in tobacco farms for hours in the sun, causing who knows what irreversible damage, and it’s allowed because of agricultural lobbying. And underage people who have been trafficked can be charged with child prostitution in some places! The American system is so corrupt. As someone going into criminal psychology don’t even get me started on the prison system either!!

Ignoring completely that in those same 20 years he continued to harass and rape other women. In those 20 years he believed he killed a child and likely attempted and succeeded in killing others and we'll never know because he took his own life.

@@davidb.6681 Yes my friend. Sadly, those who belive he was feeling guilty for years, cannot conseive the idea that there are human-being capable of that level of evil. They only comprehend what others do or feel, through a lense of analitical fallacy: a comprehensive bias, when trying to understand others actions and emotions through 'ones-self' limited understanding of the world. This is a form of naiveness that often costs the safety of Vunerable individuals, such as children.
Thinking that because 'you', as a person, could not do something terrible without feeling bad for another, means others would feel bad too, its dangerous.
Lack of awareness and knowledge IS dangerous.
Which is why, to this naive people, I could only recomend to get better aducated on the topic of psycophaty and evil (evil in the biblical and psychological sence, which are oftentimes aproached differently on each department).

@@Matt-mu3xm It is definitely possible that he could had cry because he felt bad for her at that point, its true.
The truth is that only that "men" knows why he cried. We can only speculate.
Researchers studying psychopathy have been able to corroborated that psycopaths are able to feel sad, fear, and even remorse. But psychopathic individuals, unlike other people, Can choose when to feel this emotions.
For example, when he decided to do what he did to that poor child, he Chose not to care.
I believe there lays the issue with not caring to hurt her, but then choosing to "care" After he hurt her. To me, a possitive does not cancel a negative. This is what I mean by this:
When he decide to hurt her, his act of self gratification surpassed his feelings of guilt. And at that moment, he didn't care for Her. And this, to me, it's what makes him an heartless monster. His 'regret' after the act is irrelevant. And feeling sympathy for him, and beliving his apparent guild (becaus he cried) was a sing of remorse, is a extremely naive assumption.
There is such much more that we, as a society, still need to discover about psycophaty. But one thing remains an absolute fact: psycophats are Not 'normal people' as they are capable of tremendous vicious harm to others (especially the vunerable). And choosing to humanized them, by beliving an apparent post remose act such as crying, would redeem their heinous past deeds, its not only dangerous, it's terribly negligent.

DNA evidence isn't always that easy to use. You need to argue against false positives, contamination, etc. And keep in mind the clothes were kept for 18 years (presumably in plastic bags). The other evidence is the name and drawing (but lots of people are named Dennis, and an 8-year old isn't the most reliable witness). That doesn't mean they don't have a case, maybe even a winnable case, but they definitely wanted the confession.

I know first hand the weight of being the only known surviving witness to a horrific sexual assault and attempted murder. I was supposed to be #7. I was the 7th victim and the only woman who survived this man’s assault. The only reason that I survived was because 6 months prior to my assault, I was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead for 4 minutes before I was revived and woke up 3 days later from a coma. I remember floating down a hallway and being welcomed to cross over to the other side. I remember saying “Thank you for the invitation but I am hearing I am welcome to come through, but not that I have to come through. I know there are things left in this world I still have to do and I don’t know what those are but I know I still need to do them” and turning around to go back to the physical world. Then waking up. Fast forward 6 months and I am fighting for my life once again. I remembered thinking, “God wouldn’t have let me come back just to die like this! I am not going to die today! Not like this!” I managed to escape after playing dead. I managed to find out the name of my attacker and found out he had raped and killed 6 woman prior to abducting me. I put him behind bars for the rest of his life and the worst part about it was that he was only 19yrs old. I identified him from his high school prom picture! The will to survive is primal and never to be taken lightly. It’s been 17 years and I now have 2 amazing children and a wonderful life. God has truly blessed me and knew I was strong enough to stop this sick man from hurting anymore women.

I have myself survived surviving a vehicle hitting me as a pedestrian versus a truck going 65 mph. Not 1 broken bone and I got up and pulled my Dad off the driver because he just thought this guy just killed me. I was 17 and remember it like it was yesterday and I am in my 40's. I also survived a rocket attack in Afghanistan when I was a civilian contractor. It killed the 2 guys I was walking beside and something told me to switch places from left to right and I lived in a bunkhouse to the left. The guy closest didn’t change directions, I just moved to the right of him. I was trapped under the concrete barrier for 2 hours, and woke up almost 4 hours later after being knocked out. I am whole and alive. RIP to the other 2 guys. Listen to your instinct/ gut feeling. This story is absolutely very awesome how she prevailed! I think it's because 1: many still find ways of abusing, even sexually 2: sterilization/ castration by governments has a sorid history. I know, who would care about sexual predators functioning, but unfortunately those techniques have been used on people that didn't deserve it.
But back to #1 -- it can even make them frustrated enough to inflict even more harm on victims. There's abusers that will use objects, other body parts, and become more violent when angered. There was a guy ("candy man") that did all sorts of sick crap to young boys before killing them. No method has worked to "fix" predators like this. Whew I got chills when she read her statement, imagine being kidnapped neck cut and left for dead at 8 years old and 18 years later finding that man and being able to say you made it. I bet she is sooo protective of her own children. It's hard to instil in your children that bad people exist.

    • @mikeexits
      @mikeexits Год назад +39

Very important to protect your kids, that's #1 for sure. But on the other side of the coin some parents take it way too far and don't let their kids be kids out of fear for their safety. It's a fine line/balance for sure. I wish my mom let me go outside more and see friends more, but I'm also glad I made it this far. It's a bit tricky. You want kids to live and thrive, but to thrive they also need some space.
I'm lucky in that I managed to socialize myself properly with a real to-die-for friend-family (I think of my close friends as family because of how much their presence did for my growth and helping me "catch up" after being sheltered for 18 years or so) and finally learn what it means to thrive. But until that point my life was all about surviving and feeling comfortable while also being unsure of who I was or what I was doing with my life, quite aimlessly living and not knowing where to take my life. Discomfort is key for growth. Discomfort can also be experienced safely. :) Hope lots of parents out there are learning from the mistakes of their own parents as well as other parents out there.

I was going to comment that some parents take it too far but saw that someone else already has. From personal experience, my mother overcorrected in responding to my childhood assault. She exacerbated my symptoms and made me regress well into adulthood thinking it was my fault for not being careful even though it was a result of parental neglect. You can't protect your kids from the world, you can only teach them how to navigate it.

    • @kittenmimi5326

Imagine if her kids, or people like her had kids that are a bit of an unruly bunch who likes to neglect the rules... and do things like walk alone at night or something. Must have been horrifying to like have PTSD flashbacks of her own experience while being worried for her children. But also knowing that overprotectiveness may cause kids to rebel EVEN MORE and cause them to hate their parents. Imagine being stuck in that kind of dilemma.
