I had the OG Boya BY-M1000 back in mid-2020. An absolute steal for its price at the time. Built like a tank (it weighed 812g, even its shock mount was metal) Sounded great (somewhat similar frequency response as Neat King Bee). And it's still selling online today for an even lower price. But with this new "Pro" version, could this mean that the OG version will phase out?
Also, I'm just as surprised when you did the plosive test w/out the filter. Great review as always.

Nice review, I can confirm the conclusions.
For home studio singing I have a mic from Sennheiser for more than tripple price, I went for this Boya to easily sing/record with my little children and I must say that for the money (bought in sale for approx. 60 EUR) it was surprisingly a great buy (yes I also went for a better XLR cable directly 🙂).

I got mine alongside the AM1 mixer also from Boya but I didn't get the stickers 😢. It's still an awesome mic though.

@@randomroblox2430 Believe it or not-- as much as I have extensive experience with the AT2020 and have adored it through the years, the Boya BY M1000 Pro is a streal for the price. Has 6db better signal-to-noise ratio, I prefer the tone, and it has the best plosive resistance among all the mics that I own (with the pop filter on), and I really like the tone compared to the AT2020. It also comes with a 2-year warranty, so Boya has more confidence in this mic!

So I’ve been looking to get the Rode NT 1 Signature Series. So I was wondering would you recommend me get the Boya or the Rode? I want to mainly use it for voiceover work.
Choose Rode if your room is decently sound treated, if not just get a boya instead as it'll save you a headache in doing vo work.
Which one will be better for voice over between fifine am8 and k688 with mono caster E2.

Hi! I’m not sure. But build quality of this one, if it’s just the mic, is great. Sounds great to me.

There are various budgets, but this mic is a great choice for that! Just make sure to have good acoustic treatment and decent sound proofing in your room.
