Hi, I recently bought this mic and an unusual thing is going on , this mic comes with maono link as you showed in the video and works flawlessly. But, now maono added two of this mic in your windows 11 audio setting with new maono link 3 app, which are: Maono AI Mic and nomral Mic which is really funny for me cause the AI one is using shenzhen Driver from maono but the main one which can go up to 24bit is using Windows generic driver. could you pls check this to see this is the case for you too or not? K688 is more of a professional microphone, sounds better too with better looks.

The best value would go to the XM8500 IMO, the muddiness is just lower end bass which can be mitigated by moving a bit further away from the mic. or use eq to lower the bass frequencies. The Fifines are great too, but one thing I am not certain is their QA and longevity.

A note on the headphone output on the Minifuse: It has ample power (the demo doesn't really demonstrate this though given the headphones used aren't particularly difficult to drive), however it is a fairly high noise output. If you're using sensitive gear like IEMs, you will hear a hissing noise. Which is the reason I returned my Minifuse. It's not an issue if you plan on using low sensitivity over ear headphones, but something to keep in mind. Also Arturia's customer support is top class. Very knowledgeable and lovely to deal with, some of the best I've experienced. If they release an updated Minifuse that fixes the issues I have, I will definitely consider it.

Yeah, the AT2020 wasn't really designed for podcasting and stuff like that. It's more for music recordings (vocals), for the most part. It was good enough for Bille Eilish for her first album and her vocals sound great. It's a pretty damn good at that price point. The SM58 is a workhorse, a great mic in its own right. I think everyone should have at least one in their arsenal. Having said that, there are countless, much better sounding microphones at the same/similar price point. I encourage people not to just go with what most people say (the SM58 is all they know so that's what gets recommended a lot). When you really get into AB-ing the SM58 with a lot of other mics, you realize there are other mics out there lol. And that the 58 sounds fairly muddy in comparison to tons of mics for a similar price. But it can be made to sound great and sounds decent with almost anyone's voice. I'd go with the SM Beta 58A over it, though, because it has a brighter, more open sound with a little shimmer in the top end. But the SM58 has graced millions of stages and a ton of recordings and can be made to sound fantastic.

Whether or not you'd use the Hi Pass filter on the SM7B depends on the voice put being with it. For instance, your voice doesn't sound good with the Hi Pass filter on because it naturally has a lot of piercing high mid and top end frequencies that benefit from some low mids and bass frequencies. But if it's a person with a naturally boomy bass-heavy voice, it might work just fine to help alleviate overall muddiness in the lower end of things. So it really depends on the particular voice and how close to the mic that person is singing or speaking as well. Nothing in this vid screams that the AT 2040 is misunderstood. For podcasting, almost nobody talks right up on the mic like that. It's just not natural. The AT2040 is supposed to be a Broadcast type mic but doesn't really cut it. And nobody is going to clumsily be that close to the mic on a podcast so this is a no from me. But I will admit that when you got closer it did sound 100% better and less shrill. Another thing to consider is that every mic is not for every voice and I'm sure this microphone will work nicely for some people.

I rly had a bad connection issue with the fifine a8. I tried everything but ended up returning it to fifine. The mic quality was really that good tho

Fantastic review! I was thinking of getting this exact same mic for recording, but i saw some reviews about it being great for its price point only thing was that it wasnt as good for recording. I would like to hear your opinion as if this would be a great microphone for someone who just started.

I was about to buy the pd200x but hey the pd400x went down for $100/5k pesos in Shopee PH. A real bang in the buck. Pretty much a good upgrade from my bundle condenser of Manocaster E2. Thanks for this review, sir! <3
