    I'm using the Fifine AM8 and it's awesome. Not using it in XLR mode and doing a lot of voice overs that sound awesome, thanks to your review on it.

    I do agree with not upgrading if you have a good USB microphone already, XLR for home recording is the route for people to grow.
    But something like this is great if you want to create content even if you go on holiday, I know i bring my laptop with me usually and theres always a table.

    God, now I have another mic to pick from. Still thinking about upgrading from the Blue Yeti to the Wave 3, but now I'll have to look into this one as well.

    • @DaveSoltura
      @DaveSoltura  9 дней назад

      The Wave 3 is great for the clip guard and a neutral tone, and is best used with Elgato's Wave Link software. The NEOM has its own soft-clipping technology (not as effective as the clip guard, but nice to have), but it has a warmer tone, and has all its feature on the mic, so it isn't software-dependent. Do what you will with this information!

    I’m stuck with FDUCE SL40, Feelworld PM1, And AM8. Both of them are solid. The only downside of the FDUCE SL40 does not have a mounting plate like the Feelworld PM1 has. I’m not sure about AM8, it is popular in the market.
    Can you recommend which one should I buy?

  • @kukysgod

    I'm just a starting content creator, I'll mostly be producing short form content and some mid length (10-15 minutes) content in the gym. I have bought the Hollyland Lark M2 for the gym/short format content. In the future I'll also probably be doing some voice overs/long length content, since I'm just starting out my budget is pretty tight. Any recommendation for the best USB mic money can buy for like 110$ max? Fifine K688 is 105$ and Fifine TAM8 (we do not have AM8 version) is 110$ in our country, are there any alternatives at this price (considering Fifine should be way cheaper than it is in Europe)? MAONO PD400X is around 150$ which is already a stretch for me when considering I'll also need to buy a mic arm.

    • @kukysgod
      @kukysgod 6 дней назад

      been eying the KBD669D but it's XLR and that's prolly a no, no for me. I don't need anything PRO, I literally just need "average to above average" level of audio.

    • @kukysgod
      @kukysgod 6 дней назад

      oh it seems there is something that is called the T688 and it looks like a K688 bundled together with their BM88 boom arm for like 110$ which doesn't literally make any sense. There must be some error or I have no idea at this point. Prices all over the place.

    Using the Fifine k688 usb and it sounds great, no need of XLR. Nothing a 3rd party app can't do to improve sound too. Sure the Neom sounds great out of the box, but 180$ US ? No thanks, ugly AF too. 60-70$ for the Fifine, good looking, light, USB and XLR option and sounds like the Sure SM7B. For the price, I think there's nothing better on a budget.

    • @DaveSoltura
      @DaveSoltura  9 дней назад +3

      If you're happy with the K688, enjoy it! 😊 It really is a fantastic value, especially for streaming. You're absolutely right that software can improve the sound in post, and I have some tutorials if you're curious. For the price, it's hard to find something that competes!
      That said, the NEOM is designed to address a different need. While it’s not exactly a 'budget' mic for most new creators, it does offer great value compared to pricier XLR setups.
      The K688, being a dynamic mic, has a darker tone that excels at reducing background noise-perfect for streaming. In contrast, the NEOM, as a condenser, has a brighter sound and is ideal for capturing finer details, making it better suited for professional voiceovers and music. Plus, with its 24-bit, 192kHz A/D conversion, it can match the quality of an audio interface, at least on paper.
      Do most K688 users need 24-bit, 192kHz? Probably not, but for those who need more post-processing flexibility, the NEOM's features could justify the higher price.
      Just wanted to clear this up so people can see that the NEOM and K688 aren't really competitors-they’re meant for different use cases and needs.
      Enjoy your K688! Still one of my favorite budget streamer mics. 😀

      My quadcast s also died on me recently and I bought the Fifine A8 plus it sounds just as good and soo much cheaper and has similar looks to the quadcast s, the only down side is the RGB light controls, there is no software for it so there is no fine controls, only a button but if you don't care about that, it's great and if you don't care about pick up patterns you can get the Fifine A8 which is even cheaper for the same soud quality or the Fifine AM6 and I would also suggest taking a look at Maono mics they have similar price and quality. Dave has reviews for both the Fifine A8 and A8 plus so I suggest watching those videos.
