I went to Sabine in 89'. The first lesson she got me to stop directing to my nasal area. The book to the gut trick, belt to expand your rib cage for fuller sound were great tools. Never knew that you only hold a note on vowels till her. Standing in her room, looking out those corner windows a break thru for me was her telling me to tell her standing next to me "Hey, don't go away." So in a lower speaking voice I said it. Then she told me to tell the person down the block the same thing. Which to get it to carry you naturally do louder and 3 octaves higher. She said now you are communicating effectively, so sing like that to get your point across. Not sure my neighbors understood her warm up phrases of: Go Away, Gotta Be, I Die, Don't Go, I Do. It worked for me. Stopped going after my brother died and she got a little weird on her Scientology messaging. Nice lady.
I took many lessons from her and eventually gave lessons to some of her prospects for a time. She was known as the "Heavy Metal Grandma" and taught many vocalists who are STILL performing today! R.I.P. Elizabeth!😎
tuesdays rain Hi there. Can I ask about her teaching with the abdomen please? Did she mean to tense the abs( e.g. Bracing for a punch), or did she mean to push it out, or push in? I have her book, but I'm unclear on this? Thanks if you could reply. Best wishes! Colin.
@@colinbell-NI You push down like you are having a bowel movement. One of Sabine's students us Glass Shattering vocal Indtructor Jaime Vendera. Jaime has released Sabine's book.
I studied with Elisabeth too but no nodes. The theory is that the voice is an electronic instrument and that the diaphragm acts like a speaker cone. You send the vocal signal to the diaphragm and it amplifies it just like a speaker. Really interesting method.
@@moshfreak900 lmao, unironically using"soy boy" as an insult. you know that word means nothing to anyone with an IQ above 70, right? you're really doubling down on the cringe here. fucking loser.

That old lady is the most metal person in this video...by a long shot.

I had David her understudy. He passed away too. Rip. He died right before this person put clip up. I just found out more recently.
The heavy metal Granma. May this amazing woman rest in peace!
2:12 Wasn't expecting to see Omen here. RIP JD Kimball.
J.D. Kimball was who turned men onto Sabine.

If she not dead, maybe Axl Rose meet again with she, learn vocal
She died in 2015.
gay metal? xD
A lot harder than gutturals or inhales. it will always be an iconic staple of metal.
I wake up everyday and thank the God's gay hair metal is dead, buried, and gone! Pantera keep it brutal and real during these trying times!
