Very nice video guys! I was always a massive fan of the German game "The settlers" and especially their version "The settlers: Duel" actually we also got some inspirations from this one for our new game :)
Whenever I play war of the ring I take a picture of the board every 3 rounds or so. It's awesome to then see how the armies moved, how much the ringbearers moved and where a lot of units were MUSTARD. It's awesome to look back at it when you finish the game

I’m a huge fan of two player dueling card games. Android Netrunner being my favorite game of all time, but now things like Summoner Wars and Radlands. The new game Worldbreakers is so good too, can’t suggest that highly enough.
Great list. Have only played a few of these but looove Targi. Jaipur is also a favourite. I’ve also just bought Botanik which I’m excited to get to the table.
I too, am mostly a solo or two player gamer. I appreciate the list. I do have Patchwork [Americana], Targi, and Beer and Bread, and would like to have Caper Europe. Fun tip for Patchwork: buy color coordinated buttons in two sizes, [you can get them pretty cheap] to make game play more thematic. Thanks guys!👍👍

Loved the video, the only games I would add are star realms and Mindbug. Mindbug is surpisingly a very very fun game!
Great list. My favourite right now is Beer and Bread. My list would have also included Star Realms, Odin's Ravens, Splendour Duel. I had forgotten that there is an expansion to Targi - will definitely check that out so thanks for mentioning it! My wife and I actually started into the hobby with 3 Kosmos 2 player only games,: Caesar and Cleopatra, Sakkara, and Das Riff, and we still play a lot of games at 2. I have not played your top 2 games. We are usually not interested in games where you play a side, you don't want to represent, like in War of the Rings (we did not like Star Wars Rebellion for the reason). But will certainly try Fields of Arles.
Just had an fantastic WotR game with the wife yesterday with me as the shadow. Epic battle for Minas Tirith on round two between Aragorn and Mordor, she played the card that makes me hit myself on 1's in the combat roll and then proceeded to roll 4 hits from Aragorn's blade storm while I rolled 3 1's killing my own men from the chaos that ensued. This put me in a bad position from the start with Gondor activated and winning the early game war.
I took the northern Elven kingdoms and eventually Pelagir and Dol Amroth with my eastern-lings while continuing to batter Minas Tirith with Mordor forces holding Aragorn in place with his armies of men. Rohan slept through the game while Orthanc only supported Angmar and Mount Gundabad. I ended up coming back at the end with a key Shelob's Lair hunt draw stopping her from moving onto Mount Doom and succumbing to corruption on her next move attempt. Just a amazing game and deserving of all the praise it gets.

Watergate, Mandala, Paris: La cité de la lumiere, Aqualin, Spirits of the Wild and Naga Raja are some of my favourite 2 player games..
Crokinole, Codenames Duet, and Hanamikoji would be on my list

Just played Beer and Bread a few days ago and really liked it!
I have no idea about baseball. I have never played it and I have never even watched one game. But god I so want to try the baseball 2045 you mentioned! It felt soo cool!
To be honest I have not had a non racing game in my collection at all, and you have sold me on this!
BattleCON and Mage Wars are my favorites. Puzzle Strike, Exceed, and Epic are also really good.

We love Jaipur, 1960: The Making of the President, and recently stumbled upon the old 3M bookshelf card game Mr. President. Star Wars Rebellion is fun, but is really hard to get to the table as it is a bit much (rules and time wise, now that we're parents)
I've been so tempted to get Klask but I don't have the space. Then again that's never stopped me before.

Whenever someone talks about Baseball Highlights, it reminds me of an old NES game called Base Wars, which had a similar theme. Your robot players would fight to settle force plays. Fun times.

Yes! Memories of Base Wars is one of the reasons I love Baseball Highlights so much.
Morels, jaipur, cascadia, and splendor duel are my husband and mines favorite. I just bought beer and bread, and im excited to try it.

Baseball Highlights: 2045 was my therapy after going to Dodger Stadium to watch the Giants beat the Dodgers, 15-0.
Claim sounds like a really cool version of the card game German Whist, which my wife and I love. Might be something worth looking into!

* Yes, I know you can play the two "Realms" games with more players. But they're two-player games.

I think it would be more fun is each of you had a top 10.
Yeah we definitely do that at times but for this list there was just way too much crossover so it made more sense to do the one list

This is what I'm always looking for but can never find. Every 2 player games list ends up being multi player games that play at 2 players but are not strictly 2 player games. Please do more of these and lists of solo only games as well

mythic mischief is my #1 game of all time. such a great 2 player game

Highly suggest trying Gosu X out. It's a deck builder with different factions and abilities.
Also, you should try Yokai Sketch which is a pseudo set collection tug of war game

You were going for a good 'B' aliteration for Bread and Beer and you lost it at "you have to be good at both" when "you better be good at both" was waiting for you

You guys should try the Paolo Mori games Blitzkrieg! And Caesar! Something something in 20 minutes. They’re both awesome tactical quick 2p games. I think there’s a third one coming soon too!
We have played Blitzkreig and did a quick demo of Caesar! Love them both! We're actually streaming Ceasar and the new Dogfight on twitch in the next month! Excited to play both!
War of the Ring is SO good. Curious how the painted minis have held up and if you have any tips ...I've heard that the plastic being so soft causes issues (minis get sticky).
They do stick like crazy and it's very frustrating if I'm being honest lol
@@TheBrothersMurph I can imagine. I've heard a few ideas (like pre varnish before primer) but it doesn't seem to be a guarantee.

We have a couple of 2 player games that I will play with my husband while kids are in bed. Watergate is excellent, I wasn't even into the theme but love how it plays so much.

If you like 2 player Euro style games, then you HAVE to check out “Pagan: Fate of Roanoke”. Many compare it to Netrunner but it has worker placement elements on top. With great theme & art work on top. If you have played it already I would be really keen to get your views on it!

I understand that this is a two-player only board games list, but I just recently bought war of the Ring, I haven't tabled it yet, but the box says 2-4 players 🤔 .. . is that game on this video because nobody plays it at more than two?
You could play on teams but Its generally thought of as a 2 player game :)

I loved your picks! some of them I haven't tried so on they went to the wish list... and about Summoners Wars, YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY IT :D ! it has so many different factions, all of them feel way different from one another, yet thay are all balanced, the 2nd edition that is, I cannot vouch for the 1st one, but yes, it is an excellent head to head deck-building/ skirmish hybrid, LOVE IT!
I would add The fox in the forest, I think it's a great trick taking game.

We thought about putting it but since it’s technically a game that can be played at higher player counts we left it off (but let’s be real it’s a 2 player game)

Claim Pocket, which comes in a really small tin box, is the best 2p travel game ever.
I love Claim, and like to think of the theme as an (american) election, where you don't win by getting the most votes, but with the majority of right kind of voters 😉.

The game has a fantastic rep and absolutely deserves it we just don’t enjoy confrontational war games. So it’s definitely an us problem

I thought you guys were kidding about not having Twilight Struggle on the list. An incredible 2-player.
Targi is my favorite. It has a lot of depth in a little box, and we enjoy that player interaction that's so lacking in games these days. Even if it can be a little mean at times, that adds to the tension, and we're nearly always satisfied by what we were able to accomplish. I disagree about the expansion, though, but that's coming from someone who generally dislikes expansions. It complicates an already perfect game.
War of the Ring is incredible, but so hard to get to the table. I hope my partner and I can play it this autumn, where it belongs. :)
And a shout-out to Star Realms, even just the base game, which is quite fun for such a tiny box, with a ton of replayability.

Avoid games by eagle gryphon. They have terrible customer service. I bought highlights and a few expansions but the cards were different sizes so you can tell if expansion cards are on top besides being really hard to shuffle. When I explained the situation I was told tough luck. Lovely.

No worries. I'm sure most people won't have any issues, but customer service is important to me and I was turned down by 2 separate representatives so I myself am done with them. Glad your interactions have been positive.
Maybe you could solve the problem with sleeves which don't have a clear background.
Then they have the same size.
I know its not optimal but could help for this issue
@@asura899 thanks! Yeah I considered that but with the expansions there's a ton of cards. I just don't feel like doing another $20 on it just to make it playable.
