    Already knew this concept well, but now it's crisp and clear.
    And some extra points:
    •Left shift is also called - Haldane Effect
    •Right shift - Bohr's Effect

    First of all, thank you for your amazing video. In the video, you said that the decrease in hydrogen conc. (alkalosis) causes a shift to the left, but you also said that the increase in altitude (which will cause resp. alkalosis) also causes a shift to the right. Thanks for your answer in advance!

      Both statements are correct when taken separately. Alkalosis is a left shifter, whereas high altitude is a right shifter. In real life, we can have all sorts of combinations of different factors.

    This is so good. The automatic assumption is as SpO2 goes up, O2 to the tissues is increased. What's almost never described is why an SaO2 is typically 97-98%, i.e. the difference is dissolved in plasma as PaO2 as it transits to tissues. Love your sarcastic humor!

    right shift means the SaO2 reduces on the Y-axis, while a left shift means SaO2 increases and on the Y-axis and Sao2 rises
