Compleatly understand taking a break and why. The hardest creative periods I've had have been when I've needed to keep the wolf from the door, and while replenishing the bank account is needed - it don't 'arf take it out of you!
I'm recording an instrumental jazz-rock album at the moment, and documenting it with pieces to camera about the whats and whys, talking about the vintage keyboards I'm using, how the things were written, etc. They'll be going up once the album is closer to release as part of the PR - so if you're interested I can let you know closer to the time (I really wouldn't be offended if not!)
Need to catch up at some point about playing in Sheffield, but after you're back from this thing in Seoul - what a lovely thing to do, hope it's fab :-)

Thank you! we returned yesterday and the grass really shot up in our absence - sadly many flowers have been eaten by birds but a decent amount of things are hanging on :)
I know what you mean about being overworked. This is my last week of the first year of a music therapy MA and a huge part of me is annoyed at myself for not being able to make music and yet in the last week I’ve been working day and night. I do think consistent work can actually warp our mindset after a while. It’s good to know that I am not alone and it’s good that you are finding a way through it.
That's a really good point, and it's funny how a bit of a break can reset the mind. I'm sitting here trying to make a sensible plan for my next few weeks and months and deciding what is and isn't worth my energy - but I so easily get caught up in the should do this, should do that mindset.
@@Penfriendrocks the word ‘should’ is where the trap gets set.

I also have a predisposition to watch videos on here that are just people talking to camera about their feelings/opinions on things, especially when those creators are the types who f people who encourage discussion and community
