I'm gonna try to fix my broken belt by wrapping electrical tape around the outside of the broken belt so that the tape shouldn't heat up as much.

If the belt is only stretched and not broken you can wrap electrical tape around the brush where the belt goes to make the belt tighter. It works. I just tried it. I got the idea from this video.

Cloth tape for wiring harnesses might hold up better. It won't melt like plastic tape and has more of a grip than smooth plastic.

You can also try using a needle and thread to sew together the broken old one. You just need to make sure to use a lot of stitches and then tie it off really well when you're finished. I used it temporarily when i waited for my new one to come in the mail and it worked great, but i don't know how long it would last long term.

Great idea. I have a piece of shit vacuum that actually works pretty good, but I dudnt want to go buy a new belt. I wouldn’t even know where to find one. So I’m gonna give it a shot, see if it works for me. Thanks man. Two thumbs up! Btw I noticed you had 28 dislikes. That amazes me. With the internet came yelp and such, all of a sudden everybody has become a critic. I don’t know how anyone could watch that video showing a broken vacuum belt hack that actually worked, and dislike it. To all you 28 miserable fucks, you really should learn alittle gratitude for people taking the time to make a video that helps someone like myself from having to go buy a new one. I’m actually very busy, I don’t have time to run on out to the local vacuum store and then try to find some dumb ass that works there, probably a few of you 28 assholes, and then ask where I can locate a goddamn vacuum belt. . I apologize, it’s just that shit pisses me off. Good job bro.

    • @Her__Canvas_

Husky Vacs The reason my belts keep breaking is due to a rusty component that eats through each belt. I have a carpet shampooer. Regardless of what belt I buy, it will wear away and snap. I can afford the belts but I chose to try this method to discover why my belts kept breaking overtime. I’ve already tried sanding the rust off but the metal revolving part that spins the belt is still rough. Thank you for the unsolicited advice though.
