he’s not broken (or needed) but he has strong teams & is well-balanced IMO.
BTW his healing is great & i explained that, however for future videos i may try to also include a showcase of the healing numbers, in case you guys are interested & want a visual.

Every cyno player immediately knew baizhu would be the perfect support. My cyno usually dies during ult or has to use dendro mc out to apply dendro and proc reactions, so I’m rly glad I pulled him quickly last night 🙏
he positively surprised me, i wasnt expecting much and decided to pull for him anyway cause he looks cool, but he ended up feeling very smooth and comfy. Not to mention, he is so versatile that you can play him in so many teams, so it's a very easy unit to make use of

Despite people calling him bad (here we go again, lol) for me Baizhu was exactly the unit I needed for some of my teams. Especially for Cyno. I have the same team with Nahida and Yelan as you showed, and I’m super satisfied with this team. I used Zhongli or Kazuha there before, but most of the time I need them on the other team.
I also think Nahida + Baizhu is a super strong duo, like Zhongli + Albedo, but for dendro teams.

after 2 and a half years or so waiting for him, I finally have not one but two of him despite not aiming for his constellation at all. his C1 just feels so good and more comfy to use. what can I say, an all rounder dendro support that isn't too busted or too weak. he's perfect.
No such thing as too busted in this game, all enemies die in the over world with one e skill anyway the only challenging thing is abyss.

baizhu is useful and comfy, but if you're a meta person, you'd probably skip. his dendro app is quite eh, for example

Didnt really come for his dendro app to begin with since I usually run him with Nahida but its his fast team healing where I am all at and its really comfy to have in abyss.

The constellation wasn't really necessary, but it was an unexpected early pity drop so not much harm done there.
Pulled for Kaveh but got zero Kaveh. Instead, finally C6'd my Fischl, got C3 Candace and a couple fav weapons. The 4 star system is a joke.

i feel like baizhu could’ve had a anti-heal secondary effect to his attacks/abilities. A unique passive of some sorts. Lingering ticks of poison/dendro somewhat like nahida’s. Like, he is a healer, therefore low dmg, but a nice increment to his “dmg” output would be welcomed…
Maybe that’s changsheng’s doing idk a venomous aspect to the pharmacologist with a snake kit is adequate tbh

Happy to know with this video that farming deep wood for him was not a waste of time 😅 I worked really hard to give him his 50k with that set and some people made me fear it was not the best option. I’ll keep it though. Getting all those pieces wasn’t easy to begin with.

It's pretty much his best use-case. Cyno's field time and character swap restrictions make it extremely difficult to play optimally, especially in wave-based encounters, because Nahida can't swap in to mark enemies, Yuegui will time out about halfway through and you won't always be able to consistently keep enemies in DMC/Collei's burst fields. Baizhu's uptime should be enough to keep up Quicken aura throughout Cyno's field time and since it's a shield that follows you around, you don't need to worry about losing application. The pinch of interruption resistance is appreciated too.
I'm using Baizhu/Kuki/Xingqiu/Layla team...and holy crap, its so much fun to play...i love catalyst keeps applying element without so much work

i am basically running the cyno/xingqiu/nahida team for my baizhu, but instead of cyno because i don't have him i'm running razor! i was actually super excited when dendro came out and made electro kinda nuts because razor has always been one of my favorite characters (i literally gave him my wolfs gravestone over diluc) and i'm sosososo happy to finally find a team i can effectively use him in! :D
Razor is more of a physical damage tool than electro. If you want to maximize him better go with phy shred unit
@@MrClaus. hyperbloom is such a broken reaction that it can easily make up for razor’s electro dmg + thundering furry team now has a higher damage ceiling than his physical teams lmao

In just under 200 pulls i was able to get c2 Baizhu :') hes my first c2 limited character and im happy with it. Hes going on my Haitham team so i can keep Kuki with Cyno. So happy to have him on my account!
Can you please make a Candace guide? I don't see one you made in her first run and there's more dendro units etc. now, so I feel like it's a good time. Also I finally managed to actually pull her ^^
Same. Candace was the reason why I stopped pulling on the last banner after I got C4 on Kuki. After doing a big chunk of the Sumeru questline I have become an even bigger fan of her character.

@@Osprey1994 for me, they put her on a banner I wasn't gonna pull on the first time because I saved for nilou. I risked 30 pulls trying not to get cyno and having to start over again, that worked but I didn't get Candace. And then mihoyo thought it was a fantastic idea to not put her on any banners for longer than the 5 stars that came after her. I pulled on ei, yae, Ayaka, nilou rerun but she was on none of them. Then I predicted they'll probably put her on another banner I don't want to pull on. Jup. I don't want baizhu and I have all ganyu cons I want already. My last pull on nilou banner gave me mona, so it was risky but I HAD to get Candace.
Luckily this time, RNG blessed me and I pulled her in 2 pulls. I'm so happy! What an adventure lol. I want constellations but I'm not going to risk my guaranteed 5 star. The important thing is I've finally got her ^^
@@BluecoreG I don't even know what icd is exactly, but I love both babs and Candace so either is fine. I find babs works better for my nilou team than kokomi and I'm gonna play lots of Candace now I finally have her

I've been waiting about 3 years for this man, and I can say, as someone who built him for Spread, that he's great. Even in a DPS build, he heals a decent amount with the leftover HP stats on my artifacts, and does about 10k with normal attacks at level 8. I haven't tried him as a healer yet because I'm fucking insane, but he's absolutely wonderful to have. Both because I like him and because of his utility.
what artifact set did you use for dps build ? And weapon ?
@@nanasabritones Currently running R4 Solar Pearl (though I'm only doing that to go all in, R1 should be fine), 2-piece Wanderer's and 2-piece Gilded (4 Gilded will get better results with similar substats), Dendro goblet, EM sands, Crit Damage mask. Last night my normal attack talent was at 8, but I got it to 9 just now, so yeah. Be sure to 90 him as well because of how Spread works. He's also C1.
I just started playing Genshin actively a couple weeks ago, I met Baizhu 3 days ago and was like "Ooh, this guy looks cool, I wonder if I can get him as a character." And here he is 3 days later LOL (Sorry for the people who had to wait 2 years...)

Cool but just some advice you probably shouldn’t pull for a character like him, he’s very niche and only good in certain dendro comps like with cyno and keqing. It’s best to get a good dps first.

Pulled for him a minute after they dropped the banner. Got him and Kaveh in my guaranteed. I like him so much because he reminds me so much of my fave Yu Yu Hakusho character, Kurama.

i really saved my primos since i started 3.5 when i got c1 Cyno. and now I won c1 Baizhu, c5Kaveh and c4Fisch in the house!
the sheid is mostly for Bloom cores exploding , and as u mentioned before his burst shield when expires or is destroyed it shoots out his skill , so tenacity is a perfect set for him

Wasn’t planning on pulling for him until all the reviews dropped and I seen his potential with Cyno, i was also pleasantly surprised to discover that I had a perfect full deepwood set for him chilling in my bags
Got him + got really lucky in pulling Jadefall on a ten pull. He feels super comfy to play (with around 160% ER) and I can finally let go of my Zhongli dependency lol. Using him on my Keqing and Nilou teams, plays really smoothly.
i was saving my guaranteed for kazuha, who i heard was getting a rerun on the second phase of the next patch. fortunately and unfortunately, i got baizhu on early pity while pulling for kaveh. now here i am, trying to learn how to build him. on the bright side, since the abyss has been so focused on dendro related reactions since sumeru's release, i'll be able to put him in my second abyss team! my first one has nahida, tighnari, kuki and raiden, and the second one has alhaitham, xingqiu, mona, and now alhaitham (used to be yaoyao).

I was really hyped with baizhu since i also have cyno, but it feels like zhongli's better than baizhu... indestructible shield, resistance shred, petrification from burst for rotation safety, etc.
I tested my cyno-baizhu hyperbloom damage but zhongli just increases my damage output way better than baizhu. So i kinda regretted pulling for baizhu.
(Baizhu passive is good, but zhongli resistance shred is just better. Example: Baizhu passive only increases aggravte cyno which is his n1, n3, n5 and skill damage, and hyperbloom damage. But zhongli resistance shred not only increase all of cyno damage sources (all normal attack hits and skill damage) but also my yelans burst damage, hyperbloom damage, nahida skill damage, etc.)
Dont get me wrong the healing is good, but my zhongli has 55k HP and never had any problems with enemy damage.
Additional: My baizhu have 49k hp.
Don’t regret for pulling. You’ll never know where you’ll need Zhongli on the other team so Baizhu can be useful for you anyway.

@@TheKnavee considering that catalysts have the best support weapon, it's not even fair (that's also why purple donut was memed, since TTDS is better for Kokomi in supports). Also, it feels like his sig weapon and Kokomi's sig weapon are designed to increase their own damage, which has the unfortunate tendency of being extremely niche and only effective on them.

Accidentally got Baizhu's weapon so it's time for me to prepare for his next rerun (which will be after quite long) 🙂🙂
Here's my opinion:
1) Deepwood on Baizhu is not good since he has no AOE. (aside from his skill which can hit up to 3 targets, and you would have to constantly swap back to him whenever new enemies spawn to try and hit all of them with your skill).
Baizhu is played mostly as an *off field support,* which means you will have to rely on his Q to apply dendro and Reduce the Dendro Res of enemies. Problem is: Q deals damage to one single target at a time... Basically, Baizhu using Deepwood can never guarantee Dendro Res Shred on all the enemies.
I think characters like Nahida or even DMC are much better suited to wield Deepwood compared to Baizhu thanks to their great AoE, even if their personal damage would be higher than his on an offensive set.
If you can't reduce the Dendro RES of all the enemies, all of the time, then you are not doing more dps anyway, you are losing dps. So *Nahida on Deepwood > Nahida on Gilded + Baizhu on Deepwood.*
2) Also, Tenacity is not good on Baizhu. His skill is a one time activation, and the ToM buff lasts for 3s. That barely even gives you the time to swap to your carry and use your Q. (This may be less important in a Quick swap team with Keqing/Tighnari where you can swap and Q right away, but if you're planning on staying on-field for more than a few seconds just forget about it lol).
There isn't really a perfect set for Baizhu atm, so our best options for now are 2pc/2pc combinations (HP%, ER%, Healing%, EM, Etc.) or 4 pc Sets like Noblesse / Instructor / Maiden.
I know these aren't super duper amazing either, but at least they will work unconditionally as opposed to Deepwood/ToM.
Ngl, after all these years I’m only disappointed in the fact that the snake isn’t more important to his kit. I was calling him Orochimaru for the longest because I thought the snake would be important. Guys imagine how sick it would be if his ULT made the snake jump off his shoulder and enlarge around to a big Hilichurl size and helped you fight!! We keep getting small animals, would’ve been sick as hell if he went full Orochimaru lol
Wasn't even trying to get him, just trying to get Kaveh but, did a cheeky 10 pull and got him (Baizhu), Candace (whom I didn't have yet) and Kaveh all in that pull. This was TWO pulls into pity after just getting Nilou LMFAO! Best Genshin pull I've ever done (Day 1 player).

I whaled for his C2 and it's sooooo good for my aggravate Keqing.
Zyox, Baizhu's sig only buffs his own elemental damage bonus, not his team's. I'd recommend you note this in your pinned comment or in the video description, because people might feel the need to pull for it, thinking it gives the team some decent advantage instead of being a free weapon's sidegrade. (Prototype Amber also only generates energy for Baizhu btw. The heal is teamwide tho.)
i feel like because genshin is not a competitive game, there's not really any more character that become a must pull especially in this later stages of the game like 3.3+, like sure his kit is usable but not as much that i would spend my primo to replace my full kitted yao yao as she does kinda slot in the same position as him but just slightly under. and hoyo doesn't even care to make enemies have a much more complex gimmick and difficulty, instead they just buffed the enemies hp which add nothing to the difficulty apart from extending the combat for like 10-15 second that even my 1.4 team is still viable. i dont wanna complain too much, pull whoever you want, but at this point it gets extremely boring with how they release their 5 star to be just "okay"
You are 100% correct. People always complain about powercreep in gachas but it helps keep things fresh. All characters are so muted, I don't plan to wish on anything until at least October, that's a disaster for a gacha to say about.

@@kenshinhimura6280 I'm not a meta slave, lmao, but I will not spend money on trash. This is about spending money, not being F2P scum. I don't know who spends proper money on characters they think are nice to look at, but there is definitely medication for that. Whales are starting to turn away from Genshin because of all these shit characters, that's undeniable and it will kill Genshin in the coming two years. Sumeru was a new exciting element and all new characters are pretty much trash, good luck in Fontaine when there is nothing new at all.

Just from his kit Baizhu feels like Dendro - Diona.
Okay sure his shield gives a little more bonuses and elemental damage buffs ...
But other than that he pretty much feels like a comfy dendro shielder & heal with the upside that he can hold TTDS

I dont know about the rest but I had the most comfortable run with him the most in the first chambers with how quick and much his team heal is on his e had mine 12k per e. He is a solid healer from my experience that is.

Team i like with baizhu:
Cyno, raiden, nahida, baizhu.
Baizhu would use nobless (to buff cyno even more),nahida deepwood
Nahida helps baizhu spam his ult off cooldown, same for raiden helping cyno, and next to off field dmg, she can pick up some slack in case cyno doesnt have his ult up for some reason.
Ayato, raiden, nahida, baizhu.
Nahida and baizhu do the same aswel as adding a 100% hyperbloom dmg buff.
Raiden applies off-field aoe electro while ayato takes the lead, when ayato is done, pop his ult, switch to raiden, raiden takes over as dps with her burst, and repeat. Rly fun team with non stop hyperbloom rain.
Nahida’s em buff etc and baizhu’s spread, aggravate and hyperbloom buffs rly boost these teams exponentially. Specially with the noblesse added to the mix for an atk buff on the main dps.
Trust me, give them a shot if you have the pieces. 👌🏻
I wanted Fischl since everyone hype her so much for every team that needs electro application. Didn't want to pull for this banner since I'm F2P, but I did.
2 wished and I got her. I was super psyched so I said: WTH let's do a 10 wish.. And I got Baizhu and Kaveh. Since neither of those 3 characters need constellations, I will not pull anymore. I NEED Kokomi and Kazuha.
What's weird is having a 5* that's support... I don't have Nahida since I wanted these 2 other characters better.

Before I do something stupid with farming, I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding anything.
I'll just retype his 5th talent here for reference.
"Characters who are healed by Seamless Shields will gain the Year of Verdant Favor effect: Each 1,000 Max HP that Baizhu possesses that does not exceed 50,000 will increase the Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction DMG dealt by these characters by 2%, while the Aggravate and Spread reaction DMG dealt by these characters will be increased by 0.8%. This effect lasts 6 seconds."
Because the Seamless Shields heal you when it expires, I get +6 seconds of the effect, in addition to the 15 seconds that the burst lasts (15 instead of 14 because 2.5 * 5 = 12.5 and when a new shield is made 12.5 seconds in, the shield lasts over 14 seconds and breaks when at 15, healing the character a second after the burst effect ends). In total, I have the 5th talent effect active for 21 seconds after I use Baizhu's burst, giving me 100% uptime with enough energy. If I miraculously get Baizhu up to 50k HP, that's 50 * 2%, giving me 100% increase in dendro core-related DMG. Essentially, my Diluc Burgeon will get DOUBLE DAMAGE when triggering burgeon (40k HP is more realistic, but even then, that's 180% total Burgeon DMG). Is Baizhu broken, or am I completely misunderstanding something? If my misunderstanding is rooted in the calculations for Baizhu's burst and the shield doesn't go over 14 seconds, then in that case, I still get 20 seconds of double damage if the shield breaks at 14, 18.5 seconds if the last shield breaks at 12.5 seconds and no more are made because the game knows it will end up going over 14, and that's still pretty broken.
I don't understand why ppl dislike baizhu. He might not be Nahida levels of broken, but his fast attack speed with xingqui rainswords is so broken... The 5 dendro cores are always on full display lol
It seems it would be pretty fun to use Baizhu with xingqiu/yelan to proc infinite small blooms or using thoma/xiangling to burn enemies constantly
Kinda good with Xingqiu but I think based on experience, he'll do better in Aggravate/Spread teams. I tried to pair him with EM built Shinobu and they're unstoppable. Although that's overhealing. He's a performer with Lisa or Yae Miko though.
At this point I guess people complaining about Baizhu are just expecting powercreep after powercreep in every new character release.

The video is amazing. The amount of information is formidable and its presentation is efficient. I feel like you could talk closer to your mic, you sound exhausted or out of breath, your voices cracks a little. It's not annoying or anything, but take it easy ^^
I think the best generalist set for Baizhu is really going to be 2 - Piece / 2 - Piece HP% and I'll explain why.
Due to the way Baizhu's skills target, most of his AoE comes from his skill, which is fine, but a maximum of three opponents every 10s is... well underwhelming. For Aggravate based teams, Deepwood doesn't matter, you're better off running Instructors, Noblesse or HP% sets to max out his A4. Spread, can't really argue against Deepwood because Baizhu is usually going to be that second Dendro for your DPS. Now for Bloom teams, this becomes a bit trickier. Hyperbloom can be fine with Baizhu as your Deepwood holder, but in scenarios with more than 3 opponents, if you have Nahida she's just going to be the much more efficient Deepwood holder since she has wider reach, lower skill cooldown, and more uptime. Burgeon and regular Bloom (including Nilou) are often most optimal in crowd-based scenarios, therefore, Baizhu can actually end up being quite restricting as your Deepwood holder since he has a maximum of 3 targets on his skill. Furthermore his burst, unless the enemies' hit boxes are really close, will usually only hit one enemy. So due to his ST natured burst, and his skill having a 3-hit quota, I don't believe that Deepwood is really his best set moreso a circumstancial best choice. DMC gets less benefits from set bonuses than Baizhu does, as their EM support skill is meh.
With double HP% sets, Baizhu would need around 30% HP on substats with Double HP% artifacts, 90 Prototype Amber, and 90 Character Level, to hit around 50K. That's not really too difficult being honest here. He needs around 150% ER with R1 Prototype Amber and Nahida, and with refinements on Amber this goes down. As a character who doesn't need true offensive stats, getting that much ER and that amount of HP% on subs honestly is pretty achievable. Now using different weapons such as Favonius Codex and Thrilling Tales make things a bit more difficult, but honestly Thrilling Tales has more value in Quicken Teams, which again Deepwood is only needed for Spread, meaning it's better to use another set like the presented 2/2 HP%. All of this considered, if you can meet your energy requirements, you can run an HB% Circlet in the last slot. The video says that HB% feels like a waste, which I could ordinarily agree with, however, unless your Baizhu is really low invested, 50K HP is very achieveable with him.
Furthermore, if you're running him in a Bloom team, you can still run Deepwood or Instructors, but getting the aforementioned 30% HP on subs, Double HP% Sands and Goblet, Lvl 90 Amber and Baizhu, you still can hit about 50K in Max HP. Actually you only need to hit 49K as the last 1K isn't factored into Baizhu's A4. HB% is good because it will provide you more healing, which can be really important if your shield breaks (like it is DESIGNED TO) and now you're either A) Taking heavy hits (such as reactions) or B) Heavy self-damage (Nilou). HB% would also give you more mileage from Ocean-Hued Clam if you use it. Triple HP% seems like more of a waste to me than HB% on the circlet, as at least Crit Rate has some use, HP% barely gives you more healing and you're likely overcapping on your A4 anyways, and Baizhu's shield is built to break there's literally no point of making it stronger (most Abyss enemies minus Hilichurls or those Dendro Eremites will break Baizhu's shield).
TL;DR: If Baizhu isn't the solo-dendro in a non-Spread team, it's better to run DMC as your Deepwood Holder. It's not that Baizhu is BADBADBADBADBAD Deepwood holder, rather Baizhu is only situationally the best Deepwood Holder. Replacing Deepwood allows you to get more HP% and once you hit 49K HP, you can invest more into his healing to not yknow die.
Baizhu doesn't have ER problems. He has ER needs but unless those needs traded off heavily needed offensive SUBSTATS, he doesn't have any ER problems. Same as Kokomi. ER for Kokomi and Baizhu are what Crits are to regular characters.
