Note: I noticed some wondering about 4pc Tenacity! The 4pc ATK/SS buff lasts for 3s and requires a Skill DMG hit to proc it, but Baizhu has a 10s Skill CD, which makes it have bad uptime, especially on non-quickswap teams. The ONLY scenario it might be workable is with C2 (since the C2 hit is considered as Skill DMG). It will still have inconsistent uptime as the C2 effect can only be procced every 5s, but it's somewhat serviceable. Even then, there are other more convenient sets you can aim for instead. Hope that clears it up!
I really don't understand, if I want him to heal a ton what set should I use then? ocean hued? I really wanna make him a good healer but I also want to use him in hyper bloom and I would need elemental mastery for it..
@@glassmunch simple solution: give him 2pc HP% artifact (tenacity or vourukasha) and 2pc EM artifact (gilded, wanderers or flower of paradise). HP% for more healing. EM for more dendro reaction dmg (but in baizhu’s case, he’ll trigger Spread, and not Hyperbloom)

I have hear that you can put both Nahida and Baizhu can work with Cyno. I already have Nahida with my Cyno but I don't if I going to have enough primogems for Baizhu before his banner ends.
just think about Nilou c2 and Nahida C2 potential with 4th ascension bonus from Baizu))) Currently my C2 Nilou and C2 Nahida can produce around 35-40k bloom damage no crit and around 80k with crit. It will ramp up to 70-80k no crit bloom which explodes immidiatelly thanks to Nilou and around 160k crit.... This is insane...
@@njtvose2k just be careful, because it’s probably an additive buff, not multiplicative… it’ll add onto her ascension passive extra bloom damage. Basically the same buff as a fully stacked FOPL 4-set
Watched him and Cyno on my friends account and they are both totally starved at rotation 3+ in a Fischl Hyperbloom, Baizhu at 180% ER. Performance with Cyno in abyss is super underwhelming if you aren't a whale that clears all content in one rotation.
Same for me 😅 I wanted Kaveh but got Baizhu in the 10 pull after Shenhe. I switched to Ganyu and got Mona after 20 more pulls....I needed 70 wishes to get one copy of Kaveh...It was worth it though...❤
Thankfully I got Baizhu even when he came at around 80+ pity. What's weird though is that he's short like a little kid and has a cryo vision instead of dendro. It kinda almost looks like his little assistant. I was wondering if others got this weird glitch too. Huh.

I got him accidentally I wanted Kaveh only(got him tho) and I was on 4 piti I pulled for Nahida and one 10 pull he just came I was shocked and still am now I need to see how to use him hehe
A thing to note: Baizhu's shield joint attacks are not random and actually attack the enemy that you are attacking through NA. In that way, the ST is not as awful as any ordinary ST since you can concentrate attacks on an enemy if situation calls for it. For example: 1.2-1.3 abyss with the double monoliths which will spawn more enemies if you dont kill enemies in order.

I'm interested in pulling for Baizhu from a gameplay perspective, but I might wait till reviewers do it. He's interesting to me as he is a shielder and a healer as well. Not many characters are like that besides Diona, Noelle, and C4 Yanfei with Prototype Amber.

@@Dazaiburger it's a seamless shield yes but it doesn't work as a shield so alittle bit of careful maneuvering is required plus it's meant for the healing and buffing to work. And no Hyperbloom teams aren't massively incentivised to run him as his buff will be inconsistent with off field hyperbloom triggerer.
@@NA-cr7up definitely, he is meant to be an excellent healer, and given Hoyo's bias, I'm sure there will be relevant scenarios where he will be "made" the BIS Dendro unit in the future too. But it's also true that having a good Yao Yao build means if someone isn't looking for comfort pick he is very much a 5* alternative. Unless someone is a dedicated loli hater then that's not my argument to make.

They really did Baizhu dirty. He's a hugely anticipated 5 star character but they barely gave him any exposure or promoted them. They focused on the 4star instead. Like this is actually insane I don't think they ever did this with any other 4 star character
Saved up and pre-farmed for him, and while I almost hit pity, I still got him without having to spend a dime. I raised him and put him in a Nahida/Shogun/Childe burst-hyperbloom team, and he's working wonderfully both as a support and keeping my team alive. At last, my Zhongli can finally have a break.
Let's remember that clam can account for up to 5k dps on baizhu (or 100k dpr) making it one of the best options for him unless particular cases, and that hakushin ring is also the best weapon options for double electro aggravate teams, which is one of the archetypes in which he's actually useful.
He is SO GOOD, so confortable to play... i could not resist. An "Easy Skip" is now my main healer (Sorry Kokomi, sorry YaoYao...) DUDE, He unlocked my Burgeonyoimiya team... freaking insane! [Yoimiya, Yelan, Random, Baizhu] Too bad i didn't prepare for him (Farming XP and Boss).

So far, I consider him a slightly more restrictive Zhongli side-grade. Has much better reactions, and he boosts Hyperbloom/Burgeon teams, which are probably the two strongest archetypes at the moment, but less convenient than Zhongli and his burst is finnicky to keep up outside of Abyss/certain domains even at 180% ER. Overall, I'm happy with him, especially considering how budget-friendly he is, considering his second BiS weapon is Prototype Amber.
I got him pulling for kaveh, I think overall zhongli of course has the better sheild and kokomi has better healing, though he is able to do both and I think he does it nicely, I think baizhus healing is pretty nice considering the amount he heals by and the dendro application in the skill and the shield in his burst is a bonus, I would recommend if you are wanting more reactions in your team and finding a shielder or healer is difficult, I like him
@@inazuma7792 That's... kind of a silly thing to say, and you kind of exemplify why the pursuit of the "optimal" seemingly rotted some brains in the fandom. In short, it all comes down to a difference between "hard factors", and "soft factors". Hard factors are in the math, the big colored numbers and synergies and whatnot, and that's what everyone's seeming to cream their pants over, but I find the obsession with those rather idiotic, considering how the vast, vast majority of the game is a cake-walk. On the flip-side, the soft factors are munch harder to quantify, and yet those are what make many characters desirable. In this case, the reason you want Zhongli isn't because his damage output, but because his shield makes everything so much more convenient. No need to dodge, no fear of getting one-shot, you can take your time to line up shots with a bow, and so on. These things cannot be quantified, but they make the moment-to-moment gameplay "feel" better, and it's why they are sought after. In contrast, a character like Chichi or Dehya aren't derided just because they don't have the "numbers", but because their kit is awkward, disjointed, and interrupts the flow of combat. Baizhu is, in this regard, very similar to Zhongli. Provides damage mitigation, interruption-resistance, and through his healing, can trivialize fights (such as the rush of dimensional doggos in that one Inazuma artifact domain) that Zhongli struggles with. On the flip-side, his shields are much weaker and don't provide as much stagger-resistance, meaning if that is a priority for you, then Zhongli is still better. It all comes down to what is the most comfortable for you, yet some people seem to have such tunnel-vision for Abyss 12 and seeing six-digit damage numbers that they never seem to stop and question if those things really are more important than the convenience and comfort these characters provide in the remaining 99% of the game.

Since we had so long to prefarm, I ended up prefarming around 4 separate artifact sets for him: - 2pc voroukasha, 2pc tenacity (hp, dendro dmg, crit) - 2pc gilded dreams, 2pc deepwood (hp, dendro dmg, crit) - 4pc OHC (hp/dendro dmg/crit) - 4pc OHC (hp/hp/hp) I'm trying to find the best balance between healing and damage and I've found that my first 4pc OHC works pretty decently but I'm in need of way more ER. Based on your vid, I think I'll try incorporating EoSF and noblesse next (as if I haven't grinded enough) 🤓
Been waiting so long and am not disappointed. So excited to pull and for once not be tempted by the weapon banner as I break out the R5 prototype amber I had on Kokomi before I got her donut.
Can't believe team comps and their names have been more flexible than the team itself. I bet in patch 5.0 or earlier we will have a microwave comp, that would be cool and then something explodes in the microwave like raiden electro application(overload) and then nahida just adding more firewood(burgeon) in the microwave. Is there one already? pls let me know :3
With Furina here now, he's even more valuable considering his synergy with her. Her team-wide hp drain can be countered with his team wide healing and they work great together! Pulled him especially for my Furina since i don't have Jean, YaoYao or Koko
It's not so bad to get a character in a single multi if you start from 0 pity. On the other hand, if you just ruined your pity by wanting to build it and you didn't want the character, well, sorry for you.

I'm a bit disappointed on how HYV treated him after so much time we had to wait. Not even talking about (C0) power levels, just a better QoL would make him worth the wait: either his A4 buffing the whole team or his Dendro application being a bit more reliable would have been enough. Not to mention the weapon... Anyway, still pulling for him later tonight.
That’s what I was thinking. Nothing against Baizhu but Yao Yao works just fine for me right now plus he’s newer so he’ll be back soon enough for me to grab him.
With Focalor rumours to have a burst that applies some type of corrosion to the whole team, Baizhu seems a great counter healer. Might be tempted to pull him 🤔. Between Kokomi and Baizhu which is better to have?
And someone who has both, both are great tbh it depends on what teams you need them for since both heal a crazy amount, kokomi is more versatile cause she’s hydro, while baizhu only makes your dendro teams more comfortable (and a little stronger)
i got baizhu and c2 kaveh in 20 pulls~ (no pity, with guarantee) put 40 wishes onto weapon banner and got his signature weapon. used the rest of my 140~ pulls on baizhu's banner again in an attempt to c6 kaveh and i got c1 baizhu, c4 kaveh, and c6 candace lol. i'll take it :)

I got him at 80 pull ;_; , but thats okay, i love him so much, i have to wait 2 years+ for him to playable (playing since gi release). He's now lvl 90, r5 proto amber, have 2 build (4 deepwood, 4 ocean clam) loll
I personally think that, while he is not meta by any means, he will for sure be high on the list of most used characters in the Abyss, not only because of his healing, but because it comes with the added benefit of dendro application (while low is still considerably good) He’s not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s understandable, but I do see him as a great unit to have, specially for dendro based teams

Just got him!! Won 50/50 thank goodness, but had to suffer through 5 copies of Fischl and 2 bows before he came home. Still no Candace, and just barely managed to nab Kaveh too.
Got him after 25 Pity 50/50 win and can't wait to build him in a more interesting build: *Full EM Burn Team with Klee as the on-fielder* (Although ofc I'll still build him in an optimal way tho so no need to get fumed, besides I won't recommend Full EM Baizhu anyway even in a Nilou Bloom Team)

I'm a new player and even though the new Chronicled Wish looks like a trap, I'm going to be full clearing the map to get enough pulls to guarantee Baizhu cuz omg he's so fruity. my favorite reactions are all dendro too so even if he isn't the best support i like the specific utility he gives, especially knockback prevention while I'm learning the game

It's absolutely mental how good Baizhu is with Raiden, Alhaitham and either Xingqiu or Yelan. I seriously recommend that combination

Shield is paper thin, only capable of taking on hit from low end mobs.

I got him pulling for kaveh, I think overall zhongli of course has the better sheild and kokomi has better healing, though he is able to do both and I think he does it nicely, I think baizhus healing is pretty nice considering the amount he heals by and the dendro application in the skill and the shield in his burst is a bonus, I would recommend if you are wanting more reactions in your team and finding a shielder or healer is difficult, I like him

@@inazuma7792 That's... kind of a silly thing to say, and you kind of exemplify why the pursuit of the "optimal" seemingly rotted some brains in the fandom.
In short, it all comes down to a difference between "hard factors", and "soft factors". Hard factors are in the math, the big colored numbers and synergies and whatnot, and that's what everyone's seeming to cream their pants over, but I find the obsession with those rather idiotic, considering how the vast, vast majority of the game is a cake-walk. On the flip-side, the soft factors are munch harder to quantify, and yet those are what make many characters desirable.
In this case, the reason you want Zhongli isn't because his damage output, but because his shield makes everything so much more convenient. No need to dodge, no fear of getting one-shot, you can take your time to line up shots with a bow, and so on. These things cannot be quantified, but they make the moment-to-moment gameplay "feel" better, and it's why they are sought after. In contrast, a character like Chichi or Dehya aren't derided just because they don't have the "numbers", but because their kit is awkward, disjointed, and interrupts the flow of combat.
Baizhu is, in this regard, very similar to Zhongli. Provides damage mitigation, interruption-resistance, and through his healing, can trivialize fights (such as the rush of dimensional doggos in that one Inazuma artifact domain) that Zhongli struggles with. On the flip-side, his shields are much weaker and don't provide as much stagger-resistance, meaning if that is a priority for you, then Zhongli is still better.
It all comes down to what is the most comfortable for you, yet some people seem to have such tunnel-vision for Abyss 12 and seeing six-digit damage numbers that they never seem to stop and question if those things really are more important than the convenience and comfort these characters provide in the remaining 99% of the game.
Thanks for the guide! Since we had so long to prefarm, I ended up prefarming around 4 separate artifact sets for him:
- 2pc voroukasha, 2pc tenacity (hp, dendro dmg, crit)
- 2pc gilded dreams, 2pc deepwood (hp, dendro dmg, crit)
- 4pc OHC (hp/dendro dmg/crit)
- 4pc OHC (hp/hp/hp)
I'm trying to find the best balance between healing and damage and I've found that my first 4pc OHC works pretty decently but I'm in need of way more ER. Based on your vid, I think I'll try incorporating EoSF and noblesse next (as if I haven't grinded enough) 🤓

Been waiting so long and am not disappointed. So excited to pull and for once not be tempted by the weapon banner as I break out the R5 prototype amber I had on Kokomi before I got her donut.
Can't believe team comps and their names have been more flexible than the team itself. I bet in patch 5.0 or earlier we will have a microwave comp, that would be cool and then something explodes in the microwave like raiden electro application(overload) and then nahida just adding more firewood(burgeon) in the microwave. Is there one already? pls let me know :3
With Furina here now, he's even more valuable considering his synergy with her. Her team-wide hp drain can be countered with his team wide healing and they work great together! Pulled him especially for my Furina since i don't have Jean, YaoYao or Koko

With Focalor rumours to have a burst that applies some type of corrosion to the whole team, Baizhu seems a great counter healer. Might be tempted to pull him 🤔. Between Kokomi and Baizhu which is better to have?
Both are great and easy to bulid. Go with whoever you want. One thing I learn in this game, support will always be useful and futureproof
tbh you cant compare them, it's just good to have both because they go in different teams.

And someone who has both, both are great tbh it depends on what teams you need them for since both heal a crazy amount, kokomi is more versatile cause she’s hydro, while baizhu only makes your dendro teams more comfortable (and a little stronger)

i got baizhu and c2 kaveh in 20 pulls~ (no pity, with guarantee) put 40 wishes onto weapon banner and got his signature weapon. used the rest of my 140~ pulls on baizhu's banner again in an attempt to c6 kaveh and i got c1 baizhu, c4 kaveh, and c6 candace lol. i'll take it :)

I got him at 80 pull ;_; , but thats okay, i love him so much, i have to wait 2 years+ for him to playable (playing since gi release). He's now lvl 90, r5 proto amber, have 2 build (4 deepwood, 4 ocean clam) loll
I personally think that, while he is not meta by any means, he will for sure be high on the list of most used characters in the Abyss, not only because of his healing, but because it comes with the added benefit of dendro application (while low is still considerably good)

I'm a new player and even though the new Chronicled Wish looks like a trap, I'm going to be full clearing the map to get enough pulls to guarantee Baizhu cuz omg he's so fruity. my favorite reactions are all dendro too so even if he isn't the best support i like the specific utility he gives, especially knockback prevention while I'm learning the game
I pre-built a 2 piece tenacity and 2 piece emblem for HP and Energy Recharge... poor Barbara is gonna be so sad when I take all Baizhu's stuff from her.
