      David Lackey lol well not necessarily. There’s a few millionaire rock stars out there that look like the crypt keeper. Even look at Sebastian Bach who’s much younger but aged like crap. Paul Stanley and gene Simmons look pretty good still though but ace frehely and Peter criss not so much though. I mean look at tommy lee lately, he probably made way more money (because he’s more we’ll known) but is looking pretty zombified lately.

    They touched on the opiate epidemic and I just wanted to put my two cents in.
    The problem isn't the opiates. The problem is the society the users are living in.
    Drug users are well aware that generally people have a drug of choice, because what I like to feel and what you like to feel could be and usually are two entirely different things.
    Alcoholics for example often deal with a lack of self-acceptance and social anxieties. They find that through drinking their inhibitions are lowered and suddenly they feel free to be as they are. This freedom becomes addictive. Now if the potential addict has nothing to be sober for, they value the perks of the drug more than the perks of being without it. This enables them to further consume the substance where others would generally hold back. Combine this with the fact that drugs hit you with withdrawal symptoms that make you absolutely miserable, and the fact that (generally speaking) there is no alternative to relieving such symptoms besides taking more of the drug, you've got a recipe for addiction and the odds are stacked so heavily that it's nearly unavoidable for these people in these circumstances.
    The drug frees you and makes you feel happy and content, the scale that weighs the value of substance vs sobriety is tilted towards substance, and the physical and emotional response to being without the drug helps sustain use. A terrible cycle. And the fucked up thing is that addicts can't even avoid getting "too far gone" because no amount of warning will allow a person to see so very clearly for themselves the cycle that is waiting for them. In other words, intellectually UNDERSTANDING freedom and joy is INCREDIBLY different than feeling it. Feeling it for yourself is something greater than even sex or a million dollars to these addicts. Because they've come from broken environments where they've gone all their lives feeling restricted. Once this is lifted they fall in love -- they quite literally fall in love -- with the drug. Many addicts will tell you even after they get sober that they still wish they could use. Because it's a feeling they love and psychologically knowing that they must live without it to be sober is terrifying to many. The same goes for the withdrawals. You can understand the symptoms you're unwittingly signing yourself up for but it's an entirely different circumstance than feeling and living the symptoms. The intensity of the misery is enough to drive users back to the drug alone. Especially when combined with the psychological torment of the circumstance and the untreated emotional state that drove them to drug addiction in the first place. It's a fucking mess.
    But my point, my reason for posting is this: in order to truly solve these drug epidemics, we absolutely MUST look within the spirit and try to understand the very human condition that allows for such toxicity to seem like an appropriate avenue for living your life. In the exact same way as a codependent person living in an abusive relationship; you don't treat that person by telling them to leave and find another. Not only will they not change because their actions are separated from logic and instead irrational in nature, but they'll still be codependent and miserable within their own personal life. This is because they lack self-acceptance and self-love and have no concept of self-worth. They depend on another person to act as a mirror to reflect their personal value. They rely on the thoughts and opinions of their partner to validate them. Remove the person and you're removing their validation. They will crumble into a place of insecurity and depression, now vulnerable to end up in an equally toxic scenario as their scale is tilted and they've lost touch with their own spirit in a sense.
    Look towards the emotional core that drives our actions. Understand the engine that drives the car. Only then will people change what they do on a grand scale. And until we treat the causes, the symptoms will only increase in prevalence. Just look around us. These problems are en mass and expanding by the day.

    Totally agree with the Bohemian Rhapsody comment. Rami was great but the movie was so ”careful”.
    Freddie was a freak! (In the best way possible) WAY worse than a LOT of rockstars. And yet there was nothing of that in the movie. It was all about how clever they were coming up with some of their songs. May and Taylor stroking their egos. THAT being said. Love Queen but the movie was not that great. Dont really get the Oscar nominations except for Ramis.

    • @brycebirkinbine4119
      @brycebirkinbine4119 5 лет назад +1

      Only reason why I was okay with Bohemian Rhapsody being sanitized was the fact that Freddie was never really open about his life. If you think about it, the most he was ever open to the public was the day before he tragically died. I believe the sanitization of Bohemain Rhapsody was because Brian and Roger didn't want to show anything that Freddie wouldn't have been open to the public about then (if that makes sense). The main problem with Bohemian Rhapsody lies within the historical accuracies.
      As for Motley Crue has been open about their past, so The Dirt won't be sanitized. Same with Elton John. Now, I do think Rocketman will be sanitized enough to make a PG13 film (which is fine in my opinion), but the overall story will be very truthful (which is the most important part). The upcoming Janis Joplin film (Janis) will be interesting as it's hard to tell if that'll be sanitized or not.

No internet, no cell phones,. Completly free. Played outside, used our imaginations. Best music ever, not like this bubble gum mind control crap. No one got offended in my time. If a guy got into a fight they shook hands after. But girl fights that was another story. I miss those days. I teach my kids about hard work, problem solving, using their imagination. Saw it. Can’t hold a candle to the book. If the book was rated R the movie is rated PG. production value was just ok. The script was weak. The editing was choppy and the storylines were were cut too short. Too much was glossed over. For instance the vehicular homicide. And the heroin OD and addictions.

    • @ladelmal
      @ladelmal 4 года назад

      Totally agree. It is a very tamed version of the real facts. I think the movie is so soft because we are full of crystal people, so delicate, so fragil that the hardcore version of it would've been censored and stained as a misogynist film with a terrible influence for kids... that is just bullshit.
      A mini series would've been awesome, the book is so detailed that it deserves it.

    Lol... who gives a rip what #metoo thinks. It's a film about a band's history... it HAPPENED, no matter how much the #metoo movement finds it to be offensive and wants to erase it from history. To be clear, I despise bullies, so anyone who's been legitimately abused I pity, but all the crazies who think a hand on their ass during a photo op equates to being "abused" have watered down the 'movement' to a significant degree, and that some involved with #metoo want to whine about events from the 80s and feel it necessary to expunge that era from our past just serves to further dilute their cause. What's 'disgusting' is the pussification of America by the #metoo/BLM/LGBTQ/et al millennial-driven movements.

    • @MattSmith-iq1ld
      @MattSmith-iq1ld 5 лет назад +3

      I didn't understand the #metoo question either. The more appropriate question would have been, "how do you feel about the crazy, sexual and unsafe life you lived back then (those guys didn't wear rubbers) when you have daughters or even boys these days?" That's the more appropriate question. The Crue didn't victimize anyone. Groupies were not victims. They hung out after shows flashing their tits. They wanted to be exactly where they were. To say anything else is to deny that women are sexual beings, which to me is the ultimate sexist statement.

    Reading comments on this thread makes me believe it’s full of bots, people who never followed MC from the 80s & just randomly came across this interview, and delusional starry eyed stans. 1. Sixx has had numerous procedures (things I know for sure - hair plugs in his 30s, liposuction more than once, eye lifts, botox, fillers, veneers)…not sure but would not shock me if he also had a facelift or two( vince neil has admitted to having at least 4)….plus god knows what other skin treatments he’s had (like laser, resurfacing, etc). He’s a millionaire celebrity & can afford things the average 60yr old cannot. The reason all celebs dont look like him is… not all are as vain as he is and they dont get all the plastic surgery & treatments but most go overboard (like Kenny Rogers) which makes them look worse. As others have pointed out, he doesnt actually look like this… he’s got fillers in his face, makeup, botox, black hair & beard dye, & probably a hairpiece to hide his thinning hair. 2. I’ve been a Crue fan since I was a teen in the 80s, but im 52 now & it always astounds me that grown adults worship this guy. He’s the biggest bull sh*tter in the business. If you have followed him/his career for any length of time, it’s obvious to anyone with 1/2 a working braincell that Suxx is a pathological liar. He constantly contradicts himself, flip flops, revises his own history, & just plain makes sh*t up. His book The Heroin Diaries was fabricated. He brags about committing crimes (stealing, assault, domestic violence towards women, destruction of property, rape) and shows NO remorse, & excuses it away under the guise of “it’s rock& roll”. He’s racist (google the video on youtube of him calling a black security guard the N word), not to mention a sexist misogynistic woman hating pr*ck. But hey, he’s rich & a celebrity so he’s people’s “hero” because he supposedly overcame his demons. 🙄🙄🙄 Seriously people, enjoy the music but get better heroes.
