- Shrimp Ceviche Recipe from mi amigo Franklin. This ceviche recipe is about as authentic as a Ecuadorian shrimp ceviche recipe as you can get. Fresh, simple and delicious. I can honestly say that this recipe is my favorite one since I started here on the tube. Not only is it tasty it has meaning. Just what I needed to get me out of a slump. Give the shrimp ceviche recipe a try and taste the awesomeness for yourself.
2 lb shrimp with shells
4 limes (juice)
2 oranges (juice)
2 red onions
3 tomatoes
bunch of cilantro
1/2 c ketchup
1 T mustard
salt
pepper
shrimp water
Boil shrimp shells for 2 minutes and strain. Return shrimp water to pot and boil. Add shrimp, turn off heat and let cook for 3 minutes. Place shrimp in ice bath to stop cooking. Combine all other ingredients once Knife work is complete and let hang out in fridge for at least 2 hours. Make popcorn and enjoy. That's all. Enjoy

It was delicious and made me miss our Ecuador family even more than I already do!!
Thank you lady friend.
As always, food looks amazing. Our home church sends a mission to Ecuador every year so it’s always good to hear other brothers or sisters going there to serve! I’m in the Chaplain Corps in the Air Force. If you ever want to combine ministry and bbq, it’s a calling that I have and would love to discuss further!
Thank you Rusty. I feel that bbq is my calling for each trip. I'm not good with words but I give it all I've got to try to get people in the door with food. We do need to talk sometime. Thank You for your service. Appreciate you
It's so cool to hear about the mission's you've done in Ecuador. We've been to Honduras and just love the people there. I've never tried shrimp before. It seems like it's just above my culinary talent, but dang it, it looks so good. I might just have to give it a go. :)
It is really a very simple cook. I don't have a culinary bone in my body and I can even pull it off. Appreciate you brother
Man, I have ALWAYS wanted to try authentic Cuy Asado, I hear great things about it regardless of how squeamish we are here in the states
It's different. Can be a little greasy. I've smoked and grilled a few while in Ecuador that came out pretty good. Not sure if PetCo would sell me one if I told them plan here though
Your a good man Jay! That shrimp Ceviche looks really good! I gotta try the mojo rub on popcorn. Awesome cook and thanks for sharing the story behind it! Cheers brother!
Thank you Jay. MOJO popcorn has always been my first recommendation for new customers. It just works. The ceviche is a must try for all. I know alot of folks won't watch bc it's not bbq but it's my favorite recipe on here. Appreciate you always sir.
Being kind to others is part of the bbq experience and you embolden that my friend!
Im new to the channel and I have to say you are one of my favorites to watch. I’ve taken several mission trips to Nicaragua and absolutely love it there. Im gonna be trying lots of your recipes very soon. Award winning ribs this 4th to be exact. I already ordered my Mojo bbq rub and Killer Hog hot. Keep up the great vids!
Thank you brother. You can't go wrong with missions or that rub combo. I hope you have an awesome cook and 4th. And one more thing we have in common. I'm also a certified pole dancer.
Well how bout that, You are for sure then my brother!
You are now a nano :) I love how you used the popcorn! Not everyone does it the "right way" HeHe
I have to try that recipe. I like caviche
This recipe is very simple and off the charts delicious. My favorite recipe of the channel so far
Awesome video. May God Bless you guys for your mission work !
Thank you Mike. Appreciate you for always being here. I'm ready to head back down once things get back to normal in Ecuador
Looks amazing
Thank you so much. It's a favorite for us.
Killer Cook Jay 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Thank you so much. It's one of my favorites.
My wife is from Ecuador. Can’t wait to make it for her.
If I ever have a second home, Ecuador will be it. This recipe tastes just like what I've had in Quito. I hope she enjoys it as much as we do. Appreciate you
Awesome recipe!
Back when we had TV I watched Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations.
My all time favorite episode was Ecuador. He said that ketchup in ceviche was fairly unique to Ecuador.
I will never get there...but Ecuador would be where I would go.
Love it. Thanks. Wonder where a person could get a special cuy cooking stick??
Thank you Jim. When I recieved the recipe I thought ketchup was a little odd also. But it works. After the burger it's my second favorite dish. Ecuador is beautiful and the food is amazing. Most ingredients are growing in the back yards. Appreciate you my friend
Awesome cook. God bless
Thank you Pete. Have a blessed weekend my friend.
That’s awesome to hear. God is so good. This video shows how great your heart is. That dish looks amazing as well. I really enjoy your videos. Just got to say thank you. God bless my friend
Thank you. Your words mean alot. I'm blessed far beyond what I deserve. Appreciate you always stopping by and for the support. Have a blessed week.
Awesome video!
Thank you. Appreciate you stopping by.
Great Video Mojo
Another great video!
Thank you Rob. Always appreciate you leaving kind words. Have a great week sir
@@MojoBarbeque You do the same!
Definitely adding this to this weekend’s menu!
You won't regret it. I just picked up some more shrimp so I could whip up another batch this weekend myself.
That’s so awesome bud. I had the opportunity to go on a missions trip to Haiti. Life changing to say the least. I’ve always enjoyed your channel but hearing about your mission trips makes it that much better. Awesome recipe I’m about a hour from the ocean so shrimp is on our table quiet often. This recipe my have to be our next shrimp dish.
That is awesome. I wish more people would get to experience missions. You are right about life changing. I am ready to head back. Appreciate you always being here
Looks freshtastic !!! Maybe an anything butt entry at SOTM next month !!!? MOJO 💪🏆😁
Thank you Scott. Not sure I'll get to make it this year either. We have another commitment and I'm not sure what day we'll be back. Hopefully some day I'll make it up.
Whataburger Ketchup! Did you come to TX and not tell me?!?! Looks delicious!!
Thank you brother. Unfortunately all I can do is get the ketchup. That is another reason I need to come visit
Awesome man! We just had a team from our church come back from Honduras on Sunday.
Thank you Wade. That's awesome. I'm tell all if you ever have a chance to go serve you need to. It is a life changer. Appreciate you.
@@MojoBarbeque yessir! Been to Russia, Romania, China, and Mexico on mission trips myself.
Looks awesome!! Great recipe and great heart!! What size shrimp did you use?
Thank you Kevin. I used 26-30 jumbo. That's all I could get here with shells on. A smaller shrimp would be ideal but I'm not to proud to open my mouth a little wider. Appreciate you brother.
I need me some ceviche
Out of all my recipes this is the one I would recommend. It's amazing.
@@MojoBarbeque I love ceviche... but it has been a while. The Peruvians do one hell of a job also. Peace
What electric top and electric grinder do you use? Any chance you could post a link so I can purchase one. Thanks
There should be links to both in the description. I believe they are listed pepper Grinder and cook top. Both came from Amazon. Appreciate you stopping by and checking us out.
@@MojoBarbeque perfect! Love watching every video you post!
@@brentbreezy22 means alot to know you're watching. Hope you and the family have an awesome 4th
The ketchup and mustard (yay for Coleman's, btw!) was unexpected.
I found it odd also when j translated the recipe. But it works. I like that extra little punch Colemans gives.

Heck yeah. Appreciate you always being here
Coctel and ceviche are two different things
Yes they are. If I'm not mistaken coctel de camaron is more of a Mexican dish. Something I would like to try.
@@MojoBarbeque this is more or a coctel. Ceviche is raw shrimp cooked in lime juice, cucumbers, onions. that’s All. The red juice.. is a coctel.
@@86HellCat831 I agree that ceviche is cooked in lime juice but humans have gotten soft over time most people in food service cook the shrimp first. This is an Ecuadorian Ceviche. The recipe comes from an Ecuadorian and every where I have had ceviche in Ecuador it is this recipe. Check out Anthony Bourdain's trip to Ecuador. He mentions that the ketchup mustard mixture is an Ecuadorian thing. Ceviche or Coctel. I'm fine with calling it either. I just know it's good.
You lost me at the ketchup..
