In a sea of blues artists over many decades, Collins always stood out. The right shoulder carry, the capo, the finger picking. He seems to hit all the right notes with minimalist perfection. His bends are superb. Band isn't to shabby here either! Thank you for this 🙂
@@Jonathan-L Definitely got into connecting with the audience. Even later when he was on stage with other greats he would be totally focused on the audience while standing out from his contemporaries. He didn't have to look at the fretboard, lol. I'm a nobody but after 40 years I don't look as much as when I was just learning. Still, a great virtuoso and singer as well. Love these videos!
I am proud to say I saw Albert Collins in London, March 1991, he must have been touring the country after having played in the RAH the blues nights alongside Eric, Jimmy, Cray, Buddy... For the en core, suddenly Jack Bruce came from the curtains and tear into a riiff, and the whole band followed through with coherent rhythm
@arjhendrix Right , but a while ago one of my videos featuring 2 audio versions of a song was taken off . The artist in one the excerpts contacted RUclips and had it removed. I wasn't trying to violate his rights and would have removed the video voluntarily if he had asked me . Because the video had to be removed its affected my account.
@stringrip yeah bro, me too. strike one for uploading a John Lee and iVan song in my case. automatic by the 2ooB :-( remove on request sounds good, hope they do it... best wishes to you
Hey, if Yoytube gives you any trouble about posting good stuff like this, you let me know and I'll go right round to their place and have a good, long talk with em. OK?
Thanks! Who needs a pic no one. And not Albert Collins either Howelin wolf once told Hubert Sumlin if I ever catch you using a pic I'm going to hurt you. Something like that. He was right.
BB King used a pick - : 'King preferred a medium pick for his playing style. He would typically go on stage with a 0.71mm tortoiseshell pick from D'Andrea'. Hendrix mostly used a pick and when Howlin' Wolf first heard him he offered him a job.
@arjhendrix bk...90 days!...lol. hey bro i got a strike frm the youtube too. thats just the way it goeth hereabouts in the land of the U2ooB. hmm...i did get carried away that time, music4share is my byline. :-) cheers and best wishes to you same as the last time.
1 dislike. I say you are outnumbered troll! Go back to your video game for you are not worthy to hear this music. What's that? You can play better! Tell us more. We are fascinated! Respect for the man!!
With Albert, guitars just come with ten superfluous frets.

And he never ever looked at his guitar when playing, always casting his eyes around the audience to capture the attention of everyone in the room.

Just incredible, 👍😄❤️💙
Drummer is Michael Huey...Good friend. Played with about everybody in the 80s and 90s.
Albert's guitar playing is like a human voice. Kinda like a really good preacher gets all worked up. Amazing and unique player.
He said that he loved the Organ piano so he took that and added it to his style of playing, Also he is first cousin to Lightning Hopkins
Sweet mother of God! Etta and Albert! My life is complete!
I have to put this in my lineup just so I don't forget the greats and the pioneers.
Albert Collins had a very unique style of playing, guitar players from today cant fill those shoes really.
Wow that capo at the whatever fret is pretty consistent... seems to be a big part of his sound. That and a telecaster.
