As I get older, I’m pretty positive that Albert Collins was/is the best blues player I’ve heard. I love the usual suspects like BB and Albert King, Otis Rush, Freddie King, SRV, Clapton, but Albert is the man, for my ears.
I started crying as I watched this because I could've been one of those young mooks going wild in that crowd. And all this shit --- the low ceiling funky blues club, the raucous, joyful vibe, the real-deal communication...it's all just gone! But at least I was there!
The Iceman!!!! I was lucky enough to get to see Albert in the 80's ,probably '85-'86,in a fairly small club in Boulder, Colorado. Got the chance to talk with him for a few minutes; class act, indeed! Great guy;sorely missed.
I haven't heard or seen live blues like this one in particular, I'm 71 now, Lord only knows what ever happened to the rest of these great bunch a guys. I am blown away.
dang... I swear, there ain't nothin' better... turn it up loud. ...no, I said "LOUD!" Last time I saw A.C. and the I.B. was a drizzly night, Rockefeller's, Houston, the band all out on Washington Ave., jamming right on the sidewalk. Best live show I ever saw, ever will see :)
What a beautiful intimate little Club to see true greatness like that is amazing Albert Collins didn't sound like anybody but Albert Collins one of my biggest influences thanks Mr Collins
Agreed; this is Legends before they put all the artwork etc in. At Legends old location at 8th&Wabash. I mean, it looks the same, Junior Wells is there, and all the photos behind at the beginning of the clip are Junior and Buddy. @@Onthevergeclocks

Albert was a master in his own right. He always had the best support musicians / band. He was very unique in his style.
Agreed! The older I get, the more I like Albert. He was the real deal!
I feel the same, as time goes on I think more and more that he was the best. He checked all the boxes,
Best live blues player ever

His attack, voice, tuning, humbucker on a Strat, volume. Definitely in my top 10.
You can't really pick a favorite, but you can have a Top Shelf. 😎🎸
It’s even better when it’s a humbucker on a Tele!
dang... I swear, there ain't nothin' better... turn it up loud. ...no, I said "LOUD!"

Since I first learned of Albert Collins, I liked his unique way of playing and always liked his sense of humor. Still do.
First and foremost is the groove. You know the one I'm talking about the groove that makes your bones want to jump out of your skin and dance

Woah amazing and that Band!
2 cool 4 skool.
Why cant bands sound like this now?????
I am trying!
Because I haven't got to that playing level just quite yet
1) It takes a lot of work, dedication, and scuffling every night to get there 2) autotune is easier and cheaper
Does anybody know who is the keyboard player? He is AWSEOME

I never knew that Larry Bird could play the sax
I hate that I was too young to ever see Led Zeppelin. Now, add Mr Collins to that.
Go see Mr Bieber while you still can. Life is too short for regrets.
Well fingerpicking all the way. And notice white female guitarist on 2nd. He was ahead of his time. Mostly whitey audience on this one.
He hardly look at the guitar...He is like a blind man reading brailey...wow...
Lot's of comments here about who's the best. Without a doubt...it's Johnny Winter! ruclips.net/video/HTWPijy9DcU/видео.html
