  • A lot of players have dreams of playing college basketball and beyond, but be honest with yourself. Are you doing things every day that will actually help you reach those goals?
    In this video I want to talk about three habits you should develop today that will give you the opportunity to have more success in your basketball journey. I will also tell you exactly how you can incorporate these habits into your daily life.
    The harsh reality about building new habits is that it is going to be uncomfortable at first.
    When I was a freshman in high school and first started training regularly, it wasn’t always easy to go to the gym everyday and work on my skills for hours. People thought I was weird for taking basketball so seriously. But after doing it for a few weeks, it just became a part of my everyday routine, and no one really cared anymore.
    Now when I am home in the summer for the offseason, I simply workout everyday because that is how I have done it since I can remember. It is ingrained into my lifestyle. You have to be aware of this period of uncomfortableness as these positive habits start to work their way into normal, everyday life.

    During the peak of my basketball dreams in HS (1995-1998) I was obscessed but had my days and weeks when I "felt" like not going to work out. Of course to me being good at basketball was jumping high. Make my free throws/layups/open jumpers. I had no idea what I was doing and ran like a chicken with my head cut off.

    2-take care of your health (be hyper aware what you put on your body)(stretch routine)(sleeping)

    another great video, believing in yourself is so important. its easy to let noise slip in even when its just unfair parameters that have been placed because there are so many different factors bursting and changing all the time.

    Man this is great content like it bro. I am a entrepreneur used to hoop and etc. But man so much of what you say just relates with success in general man. Got to do what you haven't done before to get results you never had. Success is so simple its just hard because it's so daily and not everyone is going to agree with your lifestyle. Success is controversial because it's against the grain of whats normal is society today. So I commend you bro keep it up.

    • @TuckerRichardson
      @TuckerRichardson  8 месяцев назад

      I think confidence comes from putting in the work, and taking it day by day. That sounds like a really tough situation you are in. Start by doing all the little things that are in your control really well, and then you will gain the trust of your teammates and coaches, which will hopefully give you more and more confidence as the year goes on.

    • @TuckerRichardson
      @TuckerRichardson  9 месяцев назад

      Try to get more live reps when you are training. Put yourself in situations where you are playing 1 on 1, 2 on 2, etc. Sometimes if you don't go up against real defense it can be hard to use your skills in games.

    Thx for this video I really appreciate it bro! I'm a young hooper from France 🇨🇵 and I want to make money of my passion : basketball. But idk what think i need to work on day to day like should we doing shooting drills Monday and the other day finishing and the other shooting?
    Because i feel like dont focus on shooting 1 day is not gonna make a huge improvement, same for finishing.. Why should I do?

    • @TuckerRichardson
      @TuckerRichardson  8 месяцев назад +1

      You are still really young, and if you love the game then I think you should keep working and give yourself a chance to be successful in the long run. And how many stars you are does not matter at all. I was a no star player in high school, that shouldn't be what you are worried about. Use the adversity as motivation and keep working if you love the game!
