That was fun. And significant that you as an eight year old wrote yourself as a character who was ten years old. I've written a fair bit over the years for kids and YA. I don't know if you are aware of this but kids and younger teens like to read books about kids two years older than themselves. There's something that makes it sound mature to them but still accessible. You nailed from the get go. 😎
You were the MacGyver of time travel, my guy! Flour, leaves, and a coconut? 🤯 Isn't it funny how we have some ideas that seem to be timeless in our little minds until they take their final form? I'm sure 8 year old Aaron would be psyched by what you've accomplished.
When I was 8 or 9 I wrote three books. They were called the lost keys. I wrote them out, bound them with some string and added a paper cover. They were heavily influenced by Harry Potter and had this dungeon crawler thing going on. I never finished the third book, left it on a nice cliffhanger that will never be resolved.
Awweee. My baby!
Immediately adding to my TBR

You’re braver than I am. Bro, I’d die of cringe if anyone saw what I wrote in my teens
