I remember at some of the specialized stores that would sell electronics of the day ... like selling a car the salesman would sit you on a couch and demonstrate all the features and power then play them loud enough to have a block party ...
For "Doo-Wop" 78's, you should have a 1950's Magnavox mono system- a "Magnasonic" with a tube push pull amp and a tone arm with higher tracking. This system is really best for Lp stereo records..
@@1953childstar I'm sure even if it's a mid 1960's console, you can still play your 78 rpm records and get a nice sound.. Not as good as a mid 1950's mono tube system..
Unreal!! My neighbor GAVE me one of these!! I have played guitar for over 46 years and I have never heard a home stereo so loud!! Jesus Christ! It literally hurts my ears........the record player needs to be repaired but good lord the radio blows the walls out on 4!!
I have an RCA just like that, Same model number with a total of 10 speakers, but on the back it shows to be 300 watts. It looks great and sounds great. The original owner said he bought it in 1968. No kind of repair ever done. My computer is connected so it serves as everything audio. Music from you tube and sometimes as speakers for movies. The turn table and radio work, but I almost never use them. I wonder how long it will continue to work.
Any idea how I might be able to get the turntable to work? Everything else works perfectly but the turntable doesn't turn. Any advice would be appreciated.
@@glennd81 I 've been into mine, but can't remember if it had a belt or if it was direct drive. I assume you have checked the connections at the bottom of the turntable.
There is an antique shop near me that has one but he doesn't want to sell it and he said it was put out of action by a power surge or lightning strike. I wonder if it's repairable?
My grandmother had a similar model. The sound was so rich.

Great quality of an entertainment machine very nice demonstration.
WOW! THAT SOUNDS GREAT!
What a lovely unit, sounds really good.
I can just imagine playing my doo-wop 78 rpm records on it.. WOW!!!

Looks and sounds great. I hope I'll see one like it some day. You find the coolest units!
Gotta Love Bond. .... well, OLD Bond lol.

Fantastic!
man you have nice collection
.
I have the same Mantovani record.
Amazing
I can imagine how much that console weighs...
I have one, it's on wheels and yes it is really heavy!
I have this console. It's in immaculate shape! BUT, the phonograph needs service/repair. I sent an email to you at your site.
Same situation here! Does he repair these units? My turntable doesn't turn.
It's been a year and he never responded.
@shanemarcotte2062 He actually emailed me back earlier. He charges $160 if it's a basic repair. Goes up to $260 if it's something more complex.
Seems kind of rare to have an S curved tonearm from 1967.
Whats the major difference between this version and the an arbor version which one has better quality and durability in your opinion?
@steve scarlet what is the RCA New Vista model to the back right of the screen? Same model my parents had from new in the mid 60’s

Probably.....
@@SteveScarlet I wonder if I can get him to sell it to me?🤔
It's an amazing console....@@alanrogs3990
Do you have any idea where to get a transistorized cartridge and arm for one of these nowadays? I’m trying to repair the 1966 model.
eBay is your best bet....
@@SteveScarlet thanks for the reply. I have definitely been scouring eBay for a few days to see if anything pops up.
have you worked on some of rca's first stereos?
320w on the zenith, not 360
There's always one....
