I love those old Magnavox consoles. My Mom had one her Brother gave her with that same record changer making it around 1950's. My Dad bought me one around 1964 with the sliding top, kind of a budget model. In 1966 when I got a job, I bought a big French Provincial style. In 1972, I got the fanciest one they had in the store. It had the lighted control knob and fancy pleated cloth in the grill openings.
When I decided to downsize to one console I had a hell of a time deciding between the Concert Grand and the YT960. Playing them both back to back was pretty much a tie. The Zenith ended up winning because I liked the cabinet style better plus the reel to reel. If my Concert Grand was the Modern cabinet, things might have gone differently...
This reminds me of my parents stereo console. I talked them into getting a Fisher. What always cracked me up was they listened with the bass turned all the way up, the loudness compensation turned on and the treble all the way down. So when it was on most of what one heard was boom, boom, boom.
My first experience with quality sounding hi fi was my parents 1972 Magnavox we still have that console in my parents home. Steve what price do you have on this Console its very nice
