This thing is the reason why so many people are sound-chasing nowadays. They’re trying to find something that replicates the deep, rich way that music came out of these chests!
In late 70's, my friends Ma owned this. It was centerpiece in her livingroom. A gorgeous touch to her splendid decor. Console had nice, full sonics. Back in those days we listened to FM tuner. Disco was soundtrack of the 70's. And the console had a full, rich sound. Oh, the good old days! 😊
My dad had one of those stereo consoles. Built in turntable and a eight track player built into it.All in one from the late 1970s (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
Mis padres tuvieron una muy similar, pero al costado izquierdo tenía un televisor retractil, era una Blaupunk coronado del año 1968, un sonido maravilloso
The golden age of walnut. It’s the reason teenage boys had muscles. Even Bose speakers had walnut sides. I remember buying my first Nakamichi cassette deck and it was all plastic.
Damn, they used to make such wonderfull things, didn't they? Magnificent!

When I was growing up, we had a Philco record player in the front parlor. Oh, the record albums, the 45s, and the 78s I used to play way back when.
Reel to reel recorders were expensive back then.
It was a very expensive technology.
I have that record! Your console sounds wonderful!
You Only Live Twice ! Nice console.

Badass! Great Job!

I love the style, that blank panel needs something though.
Thanks!

First record I ever owned was a 45 of 'You Only Live Twice' (like that one, but with vocals).

Opening track of Magnificent Seven
Didn't some of these have built in TVs, not this particular model but aome manufacturers perhaps?
007
Same splitter box I use for line audio on my phono only units
I forgot about that. The old ceramic cartridges of that vintage did not need a dedicated phono preamp between the cartridge and the main inputs.
I prefer this model over the Kubrik
What album is that? I remember hearing that many years ago on the local “beautiful music” radio station.
Think of James Bond, 1960’s, Sean Connery (opening tune 🎶) “ The Magnificent Seven Theme “ (ending tune 🎵)
It's a vacuum tube system?
Nope. Look closely at the control unit when he zooms into it. I see "Solid State" at the top of the panel.
Bond.....James Bond
Mantovani!
