- Haunting photos of a woman at a gravesite being comforted by the superimposed, ghost-like image of her 2-year-old daughter took on a whole new meaning when that mother, 29-year-old Jeanie Ditty, was accused of beating the little girl to death. Ditty was charged with first-degree murder and child abuse in Macy Grace’s death, but her trial ended in a hung jury with jurors voting 10 to 2 for conviction. Inside Edition spoke to Macy’s great aunt, Michelle Smith, and grandmother Tina Goodwin.
The fact that she hired a photographer to stage these photos is sick.

Under the right circumstances (losing your baby unexpectedly) I can see why one would do this. It’s a way to grieve and feel that your baby is still with you. If it wasn’t for the truth behind the pictures I would say they’re beautiful! I feel for the photographer who had his work used in this way.

When my son was little he almost touched an open flame at my mom's house. I swatted his hand away and the look he gave me made me cry. That was the one and only time I ever laid a hand on him. I can't imagine how a mom can beat or even hit a baby. A Child looks to you as their defender. She's sick.

Unfortunately I think alot of kids get a burn at some point but at least they will learn to never touch it again. I got burned so many times as a kid from touching the Iron, touching the fireplace, putting my foot on the engine of an ATV, hand lighter etc. Some of them I don’t remember.
Being able to successfully teach your kid or another person’s kid without physically harming them is amazing, but that is such a rare thing to see.

The Army doesn’t require psychological examinations for enlistment, unless there’s a history of a mental health diagnosis. Commissions, depending on the specialty may require a psychological assessment.

The potential to really mess your kid up long term i think outweighs the possible benefits if used responsibly. Just my take on the subject, i grew up with it and it only taught me fear. This happened near where I live. A girl let her boyfriend (who was in my class) abuse her daughter and she died. I saw her a month after come into my job completely wasted and partying with a different guy. Neither her nor her ex boyfriend were charged. She takes pictures by her grave on her birthdays. Now she’s on the run and he’s in prison for other domestic abuse issues. It’s so sad. People still don’t know who to believe or how it happened. I also went to school with the biological father. He wasn’t a part of her life but he seemed more devastated than her own mother. It was sick.

Actually most people have kids because of they’re too dumb to take the necessary steps to prevent birth when it’s not being sought out.
