A few people have mentioned the BestBuy Sirius module that looks similar to the Harley SiriusXM Satellite Radio Kit . I researched this pretty thoroughly and made a bunch of calls to Sirius and Harley to see if this would work or if there are other less expensive options, but the bottom line is the BestBuy kit will NOT work if you have a late model Harley with the Boom! Box infotainment system. Harley has a proprietary setup that you cannot get around. Good luck.

Thanks Jerry! Actually I've changed my mufflers so I'll do a video about that soon. Ride safe.

Odd video. I know what riding looks like. A little more detail on the actual installation would be great.

Thanks for the video. I had my dealer install the module in my 2018 trike. Signal strength is great riding south or west but when I ride north or east it says no signal. Maybe I need to move the antenna.

Hey Grover. My signal strength can be hit or miss depending more on trees or other structures. out in the open it's great regardless of direction. I did see a video where the antenna was put up on the dash near the vent. That might help but I personally I like to keep that stuff hidden if possible. Thanks for the comment and stay safe out there!

Good Video, but you didn't show the wiring connecting....Also is there any setup afterwards and does the radio recognize and display the XM option?

There is no real wiring to do. You just slide in the module and plug in the antenna. When you power up the radio it automatically updates and shows the SiriusXM menu item. Pretty easy really.
      Ride safe!

I downloaded the Sirius app on my phone. Then just plugged in my phone to the bike. No cost. I already pay for SiriusXM on my truck

That's a good idea. I think I might go that route eventually. I was concerned about the data especially when traveling out of the country. Our cellular plans in Canada are very expensive. Stay safe!

Thanks for the video..I am thinking about the serius I havent made my mind up yet, right now I use my Iphone music library plugged into usb 17 flhxs. I dont get very good reception in small West Pennsylvania town.

Curtis Zwilling - Thanks Curtis. Like I said in the video it can be hit or miss but it's the trees that cause a problem more than anything else. Haven't run it through the mountains yet but i'm guessing that could be an issue as well. We'll see.

Thanks for the video. Have you used any of the traffic features of XM with the nav on the bike? That would be my main reason for purchasing but curious as to how it reports congestion and handles rerouting.

+iamstinkwee - Thanks for the comment. I only purchased the music package so I'm not sure how the other features work. I might sign up for the whole service including weather and traffic next summer if it's available in Canada. Sometimes we don't have access to things like that outside of the United States. Ride safe!

Cheaper to run the app on your phone thru the speakers

It might be for some people but I don't have unlimited data on my plan. I also like the convenience of having it built in so I don't have to mount my phone on the bars.

What pipes do you have on your bike? Sounds great...loud enough but not too loud.

    • @WheeltoReel

Hey Rick. Thanks for the comment. They are the stock pipes. I wouldn't mind if they were a little louder but I like the look of them.

What reciever did you use? I'm reluctant to buying the HD one for 400 bucks. Saw one at Best Buy for 50 bucks and it looks similar to HD.

    • @WheeltoReel
      @WheeltoReel  4 года назад +1

I bought the HD reciever. You're right it's not cheap but it plugs right in to the stock stereo. All controls are done through the Boombox. It's a pretty clean install.

@@WheeltoReel nice. I was looking at the one from Best Buy and it had that same plug in for the stereo. I can run it through my phone, but like you, would like to use my hand controls if I want to change the channel. I'm going to try the Best Buy one and see how that one goes. Thanks for the video. It gave me some great insight.

Dude how long does it take for you to tell a story? You must be real fun at a party! You could have actually just done a video of you installing the module where we didn't have to watch you drive around your neighborhood.

Doing the video on installation riding a bike is dumb.
