Great vid, I see now about the new radio, in the newer models. I've got a '17 Street Glide, with the 6.5 BoomBox. I wonder if I'd have to get that module for my bike. Buddy at work, loves his SiriusXM and swears by it
I love mine too. I did relocate the end of the antenna for better reception. Big other than that the product is awesome. Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate that!
Good video Ty as usual. I did this install on my 2021 CVO Limited, but I installed the antenna up on the dash where the button used to be to open and close the vent. They say that the reception is better up there out in the open, but we shall see. Thanks and take care...
Larry - That is a great idea. I've noticed reception isn't the best. It's not bad but could be better. Can you send me a picture of how you have the antenna configured? tyncooper@gmail.com or you can DM me on Instagram. Thank you sir!
I just did this yesterday on my 21 limited. Instead of using the bracket there's actually a flat spot on the right hand side opposite where the GPS antenna mounts and I put my antenna there fits perfect. It's almost as if it was made for a Sirius XM antenna. I still have the bracket in case I don't get good reception but I should be okay nice job
Great point Mike. I had to relocate my antenna too. Reception wasn’t bad but it could have been better. After I did that I don’t ever lose connection now. Take care and thank you for watching. Much appreciated sir!
Great install video. I don't like messing with the fairing, so I had the dealership install mine. Not sure what they did, but my xm radio breaks up even in clear blue skies almost constantly. I have had 4 older Ultra Limited's with xm and none ever was even close to this new radio in my '22 Limited. Not sure what the heck they did, or maybe the radio actually sucks this time. Guess I need to look inside after all. Thanks.
Hey Jerry! I had the same exact problem with mine. Once I move the antenna and mounted the XM receiver to the top of the fairing it works great now. If you will email me I’m happy to send you pictures of the modification. Tyncooper@gmail.com
Thanks for posting this vid. I am thinking about getting this for my FLHTK. I'd like to be able to click on the radar and see if the dark clouds are avoidable or not as we travel cross-country right on the Infotainment screen without having to stop and get my cell phone app opened up. Have you had any experience you could share about the weather portion of this service? Does it have live, active radar you can actually use out on the road instantly? It would be the make or break issue for me. Not interested in the music part of it. Have it on two vehicles and it gets old listening to all the DJ's interrupting the "continuous music" every other song to talk about how cool they are and what they had for breakfast, so I'm a little apprehensive giving SXM any more money for annoying me unless the weather service is good. Thanks again!
I've heard that you can get the weather and radar that you are talking about by calling SiriusXM. I have also heard that it's not that easy and that sometime tech support has be involved. I don't know for sure because I haven't done that yet, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea. Great question and thank you for asking.
@@TyFromTennessee I've also read that you will need to request an SXM tech to get the weather but I haven't read anyone actually affirm you get scrolling live radar like on a phone app. When I inquired at my local dealer they claimed it does not have live radar. Hey Ty. Here's the part number that I used 76000842. I believe there are a few different versions depending on what bike you have. So checking with your local dealer is probably a great idea. All in all, I think it's a pretty cool thing to have. Thank you for watching!

@@TyFromTennessee sounds good I’m gonna check them out. I have 12” meat hook style bars and I have back pain riding with them so I’m looking for something that kinda pulls the bars closer to me
Mine came with the WHIM, but not XM. The only bad thing is having to pay for the subscription service AND the module for the bike. Thanks for watching Dusty.
@@TyFromTennessee yeah I get that! I installed the WHIM on my 2017 SGS and thought about XM but since I have Prime, I just use that for music. Glad to see you are back on the road and enjoying life behind bars once again!!
Dude, you make it so easy... anybody got about $500 laying around that I could borrow, and is that what H-D is still charging for the module? I'd love to add it to my 2019 Street Glide!
The SiriusXM kit from Harley is $399 PLUS you have to pay for the subscription service. I'm really hoping it's worth it on the bike. I appreciate your time very much and thanks for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee Thanks for the pricing update... I thought it was $500, but even at $400, it's expensive! If it were $100-200, I'd probably already have one. At least with this video I can save the labor costs, should I decide to actually buy it. FWIW, I have SiriusXM in my truck, and LOVE it! I tried streaming from my phone to the Glide's radio, but I couldn't get it loud enough to hear at highway speeds.
Hey there Tennessee how much does it cost for the Sirius XM module and what was the brand? Do you know if that would work with my Boom Box on my 2017 Road Glide Special? When you plug it all in does it automatically come up on your Boom Box screen? How long do you think it took you from start to end? Thanks for your help my friend, Very good video... DAWG from the Show Me State.
The kit was $399 and I purchased it from H-D website. The install was really easy and straight forward. It took much longer to film the install than actually just doing it. Once you plug the card into the infotainment device your system will automatically detect the card. I would check with your local H-D dealership for exact fitment. Good luck and thank you very much for watching!
Thank you for your tutorial. How is your signal strength? Mine really sucks. I could be in a wide open expanse with no obstructions and my signal cuts out. I even positioned my antenna to the top exterior of my front cowl. Serious XM is of no help. All they want to do is send a signal. (which they have done) Please help.
Hey Karl! My reception was pretty terrible too, but then I moved the antenna to the top of my fairing near the windshield. Since I did that my reception has been 100% reliable. If you're on instagram send me a message and I'll send you a picture of what I did. I sure hope this helps!
Another idea here for those that don't wanna buy another xm radio connection and add parts...you can also bluetooth from your phone and listen through the free app in the phone that comes with your vehicle subscription. 😉
