Same happened to mine. Bought it 8 years ago. Three years into it, it started getting the same error. Called Sears, after 3 visits over three weeks and over $500, they finally got it fixed. A couple of years later, same thing. This time we were able to restart it like in the video. But then 1 restart became 2, 2 became 3, and so on. A few months after 5 restarts and the thing just went crazy. Time to buy a new washer. No sense throwing in good money after bad.
I had the same F1 problem.. If you call Sears, they will replace the defective circuit board for free. At least they did for me. I didn't have to produce any warranty info and it was well over two-three years since I had bought it.
My problem with kenmore elite washer is ,when it spin it makes a loud noise.then it stop working .Does any one knows if this washer has a bearing assembly? according to the repairman, bearing assembly needs to be replace for $665.00 including labor and parts.I had this washer for 4years.
My start button has completely stopped working....I'm guessing I need a new circuit board? I have had this washer for 7 years and has only had it serviced 3 times so I guess I can't complain to much. Thank goodness for extended warranty although its not under warranty anymore. Now I have to pay for the part and Hopi
$187.00 for the tool. Made my own out of a flat piece of 1/4" steel, about 4"x4". Drilled the 6 screw holes and then torched out the center so it would sit down over the shaft. Used a 2-arm puller. Cost? $0.
how about rust problems? & suspension shocks going out ? this is a lemon washer , they replaced and fix control board today afterthe 5th tech came out, (sears tech)tech showed me the top of washer when lid is off how bad it is rusted it will only get worse the suspension shocks will put threw sooner or later , because Whirlpool (Kenmore elite) never thought about water splashing what a joke bought this lemon in 07 they should replace very mad at sears.
suspension shocks are a pain replaced and costed me a pretty penny, Sears kept wanting to sell me insurance which means if I have to pay for the ins every couple of years then I'm basically paying for a washing machine forever. Kenmore use to be quality products. I bought a LG and it is working fine.
We have a Kenmore oasis high efficiency. It is a night mare, are dryer has cot on fire four times, our washer turns on whenever it feels like it, all on it's own. It has been the worst washer and dryer we have ever had! Are Land fills are full of stuff because things aren't built to last! Stay away from Kenmore!

bad circuit board, just buy a new washer. but DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY HIGH EFFICIENCY MACHINES TOP LOAD OR FRONT LOADS they are complete shit. Buy a GE or a hotpoint next time

Certain models had recall on circuit boards.

you dont need to cancel the cycle then turn it back on and start it again; you could just press it once then press start
