Remove Top Lid - Kenmore Series 600 S

This video focuses on Kenmore Series 600 S. The metal clip is reached from the front. Some other dishwashers you will reach the metal clip from the back. But most dishwashers are designed like this with an easy metal clip to remove lid.

Great tutorial. The camera shot of the clip in the followup really helped. I used a kitchen knife to compress the clip as you suggested and did not scratch the top. There was quite a bit of tension on the clip so it did not just pop out. Thank You .

I want to replace a top switch but it’s in bedded in clue some kind of material under the lid u removed. How u take care of that? I just didn’t want to take the contacts. I bought the whole switch and line that goes into the back under the lid. I appreciate showing how to get the lid l off. I
meant under the control panel.

Mine too. I think he struggle too, but we didn't see that part. With plastic, it is aways tricky because the older it gets more brittle become.

Yeah sure. Use a thin screwdriver or butter knife and it comes right up. No it doesn’t. But it will crack the whole $120 piece.
