The model number of the machine in this video is 110.27042602. In general conversation, the model number is 27042. Sears does not use the manufacturer code (110., indicating Whirlpool Corp.) or the production run code (602 in this case, indicating a second run in 2006). The early models DID have board problems. I had many happy customers with the 2008 models (110.280xx) and later. I own a 2009 model Whirlpool Cabrio similar to the 28062 and so far so good.
We bought ours new in '08, constant use and no problems with either the washer or dryer. When someone googles any product, you will see mostly bad comments. Those of use who are happy, don't start a publicity tour touting how good the product is but when someone feels they got a bad deal, they scream from the roof tops. Just saying.
Agreed! Old appliances lasted much longer. I am 55. I remember back in the '70s my mom wanted a new refrigerator, but the old one they had from the '50s just wouldn't quit working. Finally my dad took the old fridge to his lounge at work to be used there and my mom got her new fridge. We have since inherited their house and that same fridge is still there working, as is the washing machine, dryer, stove and just about everything else. I think the microwave oven is the only new appliance there.
We have had our Kenmore Oasis Elite for four years and the F1 error code just started happening about a month ago. So, far we only have to deal with the F1 issue once or twice each load, but I have to say I have hated this washing machine from day one, with or without the error code. It doesn't clean, ruins and twists clothes into such tight knots that the wrinkles are impossible to get out. I have many times wished I had my old machine back and it was working on only one cycle!
@XJAKE1 Thanks for video, Im going on a almost a year with my washer and dryer. So far its been working fine. But its cool to know what im in for or coming soon.
Mine just started doing the F1 too. I've had this machine for about 4 yrs. now & it's been nothing but a pain. We've had a repair man out so many times & after just a couple years he had to replace the whole motor. I liked that it would hold my king size quilts but not having an agitator means clothes get off balance too often & that's been a pain too. Even though I haven't had it that long I am ready to buy another brand.
We had the same washer purchased in 2007 and it had a lot of problems and was serviced about 6 times! It did a good job cleaning but was very unreliable. First we had problems with the control board and certain buttons not working so it was replaced. The next was a problem with going off balance constantly which took 3 calls to fully reapair it. The drain/recirc pump just broke so we had it with the mchine and put in on the curb. Replaced it with an LG WaveForce washer.
I understand your frustration, but here is your simple fix: F1 indicates that the tubes which carry detergent and bleach are clogged. You can fix this by pouring about 2 cups of boiling water down the detergent port, and another 2 cups boiling water down the bleach port. The boiling water will break up the accumulated gunk. It worked immediately for me.
LOL that chirping noise, gotta laugh to keep from screaming. bought mine in 2006 -- this F1 bit started about five years ago, and now happens at the beginning of both the wash and rinse cycles. sometimes i have to do the stop/start fix 11 times, although this morning it was only 7! have sheets and blankets in the washer now and just got the UL error code, even after i stopped the machine before the spin cycle and carefully arranged the contents NOT to be unbalanced. i've found if you press stop twice, which ends the cycle, and start over using the drain/rinse/spin mode, it will (hopefully) work and finish your load after one or two tries. all this makes doing laundry a real pain in the a$$. the dryer works fine. bought this because it had higher capacity than the front loaders and i never wanted to have to take a comforter to the laundromat again, AND because kenmore used to be a reliably good brand.
the f1 code it's two parts that need to be changed went through the same thing. you have to change the speed sensor kit and the central electronic sensor board
I did research on various machines before we bought a new one. The internet virtually lit up with people saying these models were bad. Not to mention Sears tech service sucks so I won't buy through them anymore to begin with. My heart goes out to you.
Mine is doing the same thing. I hate Kenmore stuff, nothing but problems. I found that if you add water (about a qaurt) down the detergent hole, you don"t have to stand there and push the button. It's not a fix but it works. It has something to do with water in-take.
Buenas tardes, bendiciones para usted y su familia. Oiga a mi me sale el codigo f51 en una kenmore elite oasis he. Como puedo corregirlo y para limpieza de la misma lavadora. De antemano se lo agradeceria. Saludos9
After about a year, during the spin cycle mine sounded like a jet airplane taking off. About year later it started leaking so I just paid 250 dollars for a repair job. Shop around for a used old washer--they used to last for years--not only three for a 500 dollar wash machine!!!
Im getting a F code just F nothing else and idk why or what's wrong with it but it happens every time I try to do my laundry after filling for about 20 seconds 😭 restarting the washer didn't do anything still getting F code help pls 😭😭😭
We have had ours for 8 years. We have replaced the water jet twice both times for hot water and then the ball bearings once for a total of $500- $600 since only a Sears technician can work on it. The inside top rusted and started flaking off into the clothes so we had to open it up, chip off the rust and spray paint it. We are replacing it this week because it stops a least once in every load (like video), the water jet is broken again so no hot or warm water and now it leaks! I paid $900 for it 8 years ago! I WILL NEVER BUY KENMORE AGAIN! Very frustrated with Sears and Maytag for not standing behind their product.
Stephanie Taylor Rymer we've had ours for 10 years and all we have had is a faulty control boad, until last night after 10 years the bearing finally gave out. it was the stock bearing and were getting a new bearing . She was noisy but she just won't quit. Should be quieter once we put in the new bearing. we're doing the repair ourselves for 65$
@mlgreve Well I bought the new style motherboard (MB) and installed it myself . It has been working great for 4 months. If you order a MB on sears online Google sears coupon and you can get 20% off which paid for shipping. If sears comes out its about $400.00 and if u fix it its about $175.00 . It was not to hard to do .I took Pictures of it before I started to take it apart. Good luck on yours
Nothing but yearly problems with this washer. After 13 years of paying an every 12-14 month warranty fee to get it fixed - I had enough. Just threw it out for the scrap guys to pick up. Bought an LG top loader/front loader and LOVE IT so far.
Jake, it is not the control module. it could be the sensor but I am not sure about this. Check that your piping are supplying sufficient water volume ore the faucets are open all the way. That error code correspond to the water flow. Also make sure you did not hooked up the hoses on the reverse. good luck
I have the exact model for six years now, I noticed problems in the first month, and sears send a Tech, and fixed, then in the first 6 months i noticed rust in the corner up on left side, and sears didn't accept the extended guarantee for this problem because they said was not cover, the rust got worse and worse, and actually i have the same exact problem as the customer in the video, and i am very sure there is sufficient water and pressure is nothing wrong with the faucets, is the washer. And mine is worse i have to start the washer up to 15-20 times to make start and also stops at the 23 minute an there i go other 15 times, my washer is a JUNK ready to trush, I paid $800 plus for the washer, but i still use it because actually i don't have the funds to get another one, I am so tired of this that i am considering buying I use one in a few months.... thank you for taking the time and make a suggestions Sr. Happy new year.
I have a howling, grinding noise when spinning out.....I was told it's clutches......any ideas?? Just fixed the Elite Dryer myself....Didn't want to pay Sears......WHAT JUNK!!!!
We are having the same problem and I doubt they will do anyhing about it...it hasnt happened to the dryer yet but I'm this is rediculous. Has anyone written Kemore???
I just don't understand why manufactures don't go back to the old way of making washers when you bought a washer chances are I would run for 20 years before it had to be repaired now you're likely to get a year nefore it has to be repaired and in 6 years you're buying a new washer it's just ridiculous.
Anyone looking to buy one of the new washers don't just do what I did I found an old Maytag on craigslist it's from 75 runs like a champ clean clothes better than anything you will find it in a store my aunt just bought a new washer she hated it return it to the store and we found her old 1982 Kenmore on Craigslist she loves it
Same problem with my Kenmore Oasis HE. Sears era is over with and they are getting their revenge! I have the matching dryer with no problems. They were expensive top-of-the-line products.
Same for cars. They used to be built to last. Now, one little crash and a car is totaled I do realize that we have traded durability and toughness for gas mileage now that cars are made with flimsier, lighter materials. I had a '68 Firebird twenty years ago, had a little run in with a trunk bumper. There was damage to the truck's bumper, but the grill on my car moved only a tiny amount, maybe a couple of millimeters. It wasn't even noticeable without looking very closely. That car was solid.
Yep. agreed. Worst....Washer...Ever! I will never ever buy another sears/kenmore product as long as I live. I got it new, did three or four loads, no problem. After that, nothing but problems. Ridiculous repair costs, bad unfriendly customer service, it just broke again for the 10th time, I'm not even fixing it again. It's going to the scrap yard.
AGREED!! It sucks. So does ANY front-loader. I'll never buy Kenmore again. After 2 years my Kenmore front loader screwed up on me so rather than fix a machine that didn't clean my cloths anyway. Kijiji - from a person 7 minutes away $50!! Crosley Top Loader. Older... with agitator, no e-star or water saver, ... nothing!! It's the most awesome machine I've had in YEARS! Read up on the Crosely. Great reviews! Ours was apparently purchased new in a small town, minutes away! Great Post!!
My washer is 8 years old and the dreaded F1 started about 6 months ... Takes 5-6 tries to actually make it start washing. I hated this machine since the first time when my sheets came out all twisted and balled up in a donut. The accompanying dryer is beeping incessantly throughout the drying cycle. Worst machines I ever bought. My next one will be the old fashioned agitator machine with lots of water which cleans in 16 minutes!
Yes I also have that problem the washer ripped off clothes and sheet as a result of been twisted and other times just came out twisted and alse balled up as a donut
Thanks to You Tube I fixed my washer myself! Only paid for a new motherboard. $200.00. Never will recommend this type of washer to anyone, it does not get clothes clean. There's simply not enough water to clean clothes with. Like I stated before clothes twist and ball up and don't get the soap rinsed out of the creases well enough.
I may have a fix on the F1 error code. I repair the large $5k to $100k commercial washers and dryers for a living so I was enjoying working on my wife's Oasis. First I removed all the plugs on the CU (computer board in the control console) one at a time and sprayed the plugs with Cyclo BreakAway which I carry on my service truck. I still got F1 errors (but at least they were water resistant now) so I then went after the item that causes lots of problems in the commercial field and that is the
Well looks like you have the same problem we have in our house, except we own a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. It's been acting up with F1 error codes also. It would be nice if everyone got together for class action lawsuit seems like a lot of people have the same problems. Our quality control and customer service has gone down the toilet. This models are not cheap either. Like all bad business collect the $ and no service or warranty. You have to buy insurance plan on top of sales price.
I had the same problem...just got it fixed call sears and buy a 1 year master protection agreement...its about $200 dollars...wait about a month then call for a tech with in a year you can call for a tech as many times as you like, call them out for a cleaning every 3 months...i can totally relate 5 times then it will go, then when it reaches rinse mode you have to do the same thing...seriously get the master protection agreement and play dumb and don't answer a lot of questions...
i also had this washer and dryer. The biggest lemons not grown on a tree. I had to keep up the warranty beause they broke down at least 2x a year. They are junk and even with the service plan and several repairs every year .. Sears said that they did not have to honor the lemon law because it was not the same repair all three times in 1 year. There should be a lawsuit with free washers as a replacement. AND dryers also
Mine does the EXACT SAME THING. It is such a POS. I have hated this washer since day one. My clothes always get stuck and wrapped around the bottom of the agitator. It's maddening.
well i realized that 70's stuff is very hard to find, so i have to get late 80's early 90's(1988 to 1992) appliances, much easier to find, and still had the chrome and angular lines, they were still built to last back then too, after that is when everything started to go down hill. I also like the look of old stuff better, i like the angular lines and chrome trim better, not that new rounded off shit and ugly stainless steel, i also like crt tv's better too, no flat tv's
Trash washer I have one I wish I never had it just given to me.. more headache than a little bit everyday this week I have to reset Codes .. buy a 400 washer brand new with warranty .. with Dial it's more trusting
I just bought a kenmore elite canyon capacity oasis he model, hasn't have any problem yet. I got from local Craigslist for $200 it still look in good conditions . Oh well lets what going to happen next.
new appliances suck!!!!!!!! when i build my house, i'm going to get all vintage 1970's appliances, kitchen and laundry, they made good stuff in the 70's and they were built to last!!!!!!!!!
I have the same washer and dryer set. Mine are about 3 years old. I'm lucky enough that I haven't had the F1 code I keep hearing about, but about a year ago the washer started getting glitchy when I try to turn the knob to choose the washer setting. I'll turn it one way, and the indicator light will rotate to the opposite of the direction I turned it to! Now the bearings are completely gone and the spin cycle sounds like a jet engine in the garage. How can Sears get away with selling this POS?
I purchased a Kenmore Elite Oasis wash machine 6 years ago(paid $800 for it) and just paid $450 to have 2 pumps put into....talk about a piece of junk!!!! Never will I buy a Whirlpool product again.
Well well, well. Try to tell the ignorant public that these new HE washers and Dryers are crap but keep buying them demand old school washer and dryers .Hey we are only trying to wash clothes .stop making a production out of it and stop making this like its a luxury item that we must have. No ,No I need some damn clothes clean not gimmicks and gadgets....Wake up people wake up demand better ....
Sears replaced the motherboard on mine for FREE and it fixed it. BUT now it makes a loud noise during spin cycle only. Sound like a jet engine. Any advice?
I also have the same piece of crap. I have been having this problem for a long time. They came to look at it, and they were the ones who installed it... Sears will not stand by their product. At this point we have to hit F1 four times for it to before getting it to go on, and then twenty min into the wash, it clicks off and we have to hit it again twice to continue the load. It is time consuming and a pain in the ass. Dryer so far is OK... I am going to by an old fashion machine...
I bought this probably in 2005, and it lasted well for 2 years then when my warranty ran out it started up with the same problems! Pain in the butt! Now it's decided that at 10 minutes it will become unbalanced! Pain on the major freaking butt because you have to Rearrange the wet heavy clothes around 10 Times before it will spin all the way! I thought it was pretty ironic that everyone has the same problems, yet they continue to sale this pos!
This machine is terrible. I used to get F1 codes but seemed to have solve it by making sure the discharge hose is not pushed down the discharge pipe too far, otherwise you get too many suds. My start button on the control board has been pushed in and therefore it is very hard to start the machine. I have a replacement board but I'm afraid to replace it, afraid I will break something or install incorrectly
I think he is doing this mostly to warn other people not to buy it. He is trying to spare others the huge hassle of having this washing machine. I really wish someone would have warned my husband before he bought our machine. It is a pain every time I use it. :( Also, I don't blame him for wanting to vent and it was probably therapeutic to make this video.
Our Kenmore Elite Oasis washer has not worked properly since the day we bought it. Even with only half a load, it contantly comes up UL (unbalanced load) and we start it over and over until we give up. We then have to wring out the clothes by hand to dry. It is ABSOLUTELY A PIECE OF JUNK. Very disappointed in Sears for not making this right. Even 2 Sears techs said they've had alot of trouble with it. Last time I'll buy from Sears unfortunately.$600. down the drain.
+sue vannello I found on the side of the road that had the same UL issue. Fixed in thirty minutes with new suspension springs (make sure to grease the ball joints they attach to). Parts cost me $73.00. I love my new washer!
Exactly, we're doing the same thing, I have changed all 4 suspension rods which was the problem from the beginning and is still giving me the UL code at the last 13 minutes. I will never recommend these types of machines to anyone, we paid over $900.00.
@JSneaker is basically a F&P? . i have worked on 10,000 washers and the F&P and this machine only have 1 thing in common and thats the ingenious direct drive motor that runs silently, other then that... there are absolutely no similarity's
JUNK...JUNK...JUNK....It is a nightmare to do a load of laundry & does not come clean, unbalance, door lock had repaired 250...now not working again...door wont stay locked ...no washing can get done....DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!..I had years of luck with an old agitator machine...& no problems with them.
Kenmore Oasis HE 27082 Top Load Washer -- I had to PAY to fix the sensor (F51 error) at least 4 times. It is doing it again today. SEARS knew this was a flaw, their techs see this about 5x per week. SEARS you are in for a lawsuit.
The model number of the machine in this video is 110.27042602. In general conversation, the model number is 27042. Sears does not use the manufacturer code (110., indicating Whirlpool Corp.) or the production run code (602 in this case, indicating a second run in 2006).

@BrantNJosep I cleaned it and still the same thing. I am going to connect my water hose and see if I still get the F1. Thanks for the info.
I understand your frustration, but here is your simple fix:
F1 indicates that the tubes which carry detergent and bleach are clogged.
You can fix this by pouring about 2 cups of boiling water down the detergent port, and another 2 cups boiling water down the bleach port. The boiling water will break up the accumulated gunk. It worked immediately for me.
My repair guy said they stopped making the boards.. I hv to push my buttons 3 or 4 times to get it to start .
Oh my I am going to have to do this next week. Aggravating that beep beep F1 I really expected more when I bought my set like for it to work
LOL that chirping noise, gotta laugh to keep from screaming. bought mine in 2006 -- this F1 bit started about five years ago, and now happens at the beginning of both the wash and rinse cycles. sometimes i have to do the stop/start fix 11 times, although this morning it was only 7! have sheets and blankets in the washer now and just got the UL error code, even after i stopped the machine before the spin cycle and carefully arranged the contents NOT to be unbalanced. i've found if you press stop twice, which ends the cycle, and start over using the drain/rinse/spin mode, it will (hopefully) work and finish your load after one or two tries. all this makes doing laundry a real pain in the a$$. the dryer works fine. bought this because it had higher capacity than the front loaders and i never wanted to have to take a comforter to the laundromat again, AND because kenmore used to be a reliably good brand.

I once had to replace a control 3 times til I got a good one.
Just changed the mother board 8/10 and its been working good so far , Will keep ya updated.
The inside top rusted and started flaking off into the clothes so we had to open it up, chip off the rust and spray paint it. we're doing the repair ourselves for 65$
just put the new bearing in and it's running like a brand new machine
the top of mine rusted away also. What in the heck is up with that? I have never seen that in a washer before ... this was one expensive piece of junk
I've had this set for 5 years and not an issue!!

replace everything thats controlling the machine i still dont know what causes this error

Watch: The Light Bulb Conspiracy.
It explains why in the documentary.
Yea I have the same issue and have no idea what to do :/

Can you upload videos of the Kenmore and Maytag washers?
Blue And White I guess he does the videos of the Whirlpool washers or maybe not I better go find out.
Blue And White He does videos of GE, Maytag, and a Whirlpool Direct Drive washer with Super Surgilator agitator. He doesn't do the Kenmore.
Bruce Alexander
Thanks.
I have the same machine and have the same problem. Gave up on it today and just bought a new machine.
on the panel of the washing machine theies a book that shows you how to fix the problem. how to reset and run diagnostics
Same problem with my Kenmore Oasis HE. Sears era is over with and they are getting their revenge! I have the matching dryer with no problems. They were expensive top-of-the-line products.
Thanks... Almost bought one till I watch this video.
I get UL Error. It works only sometimes 😤
Those F codes usually indicate a problem with the computer system inside the machine.
So do you still have this washer or did you replace it?
Same for cars. They used to be built to last. Now, one little crash and a car is totaled I do realize that we have traded durability and toughness for gas mileage now that cars are made with flimsier, lighter materials. Planned Obsolence
I found online that there's a recall for the error code F1 I just did not pay attention to the number, but you should call sears and ask them about it
@XJAKE1 , Well it lasted one year for $175.00 , now dif F codes don't fix just srcp it you will save in the long run !
Yep.
Busca el manual en la parte de adentro de la lavadora, allí está la solución al código F1, o busca la solución en videos de RUclips. Éxitos
AGREED!!
Like I stated before clothes twist and ball up and don't get the soap rinsed out of the creases well enough.
sounds like you need speed queen washer
how do you fix a DL problem
I may have a fix on the F1 error code. I repair the large $5k to $100k commercial washers and dryers for a living so I was enjoying working on my wife's Oasis. First I removed all the plugs on the CU (computer board in the control console) one at a time and sprayed the plugs with Cyclo BreakAway which I carry on my service truck. I still got F1 errors (but at least they were water resistant now) so I then went after the item that causes lots of problems in the commercial field and that is the
whre is the rest of your post??
Well looks like you have the same problem we have in our house, except we own a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. It's been acting up with F1 error codes also. It would be nice if everyone got together for class action lawsuit seems like a lot of people have the same problems. Our quality control and customer service has gone down the toilet. This models are not cheap either. Like all bad business collect the $ and no service or warranty. You have to buy insurance plan on top of sales price.
This is not the board, it's the sensor.. Mine is a 2006 model with a glass top.
I'm agreed with You I have exactly the same problem !
what a shame sears !!
I have the same washer already since 2009 and right now i'm having the same truble right now >_
F1 code isnt automatically for the cpu...
I have the same problem😢
I had the same problem...just got it fixed call sears and buy a 1 year master protection agreement...its about $200 dollars...wait about a month then call for a tech with in a year you can call for a tech as many times as you like, call them out for a cleaning every 3 months...i can totally relate 5 times then it will go, then when it reaches rinse mode you have to do the same thing...seriously get the master protection agreement and play dumb and don't answer a lot of questions...
Got the same issue...
@GoebelOH I bought one then a year latter F51 codes so I gave up on it
i also had this washer and dryer. AND dryers also
Right on XJAKE1! Unfortunately for us owners of these P.O.S, we are screwed.
I guess we got lucky, have had the Oasis set with zero issues since we bought them.
Mine does the EXACT SAME THING. It is such a POS. I have hated this washer since day one. My clothes always get stuck and wrapped around the bottom of the agitator. It's maddening.
this reminds me of an xbox 360 rrod
We have one that is starting to act up! This is very aggravating.
well i realized that 70's stuff is very hard to find, so i have to get late 80's early 90's(1988 to 1992) appliances, much easier to find, and still had the chrome and angular lines, they were still built to last back then too, after that is when everything started to go down hill.
I also like the look of old stuff better, i like the angular lines and chrome trim better, not that new rounded off shit and ugly stainless steel, i also like crt tv's better too, no flat tv's
@MegaHowtoMan bad bearing, that is covered for 10 years but you have to pay for labor.
Trash washer I have one I wish I never had it just given to me.. more headache than a little bit everyday this week I have to reset Codes .. buy a 400 washer brand new with warranty .. with Dial it's more trusting
@drummerpunk921 , Iwas too , not anymore
@Trulytrollin yes it is
machine was plugged directly into the wall
I have the same washer and dryer set. Mine are about 3 years old. I'm lucky enough that I haven't had the F1 code I keep hearing about, but about a year ago the washer started getting glitchy when I try to turn the knob to choose the washer setting. I'll turn it one way, and the indicator light will rotate to the opposite of the direction I turned it to! Now the bearings are completely gone and the spin cycle sounds like a jet engine in the garage.
How can Sears get away with selling this POS?
Have the same problem with the cycle knob and when it starts to drain the pump sounds like it has rocks in it.
@GoebelOH Amen to that
Sears replaced the motherboard on mine for FREE and it fixed it. BUT now it makes a loud noise during spin cycle only. Sound like a jet engine. Any advice?
tub bearings need to be replaced
Pain on the major freaking butt because you have to
Rearrange the wet heavy clothes around 10
Times before it will spin all the way! I thought it was pretty ironic that everyone has the same problems, yet they continue to sale this pos!
Same problem here!! Junk!
+sue vannello
I found on the side of the road that had the same UL issue.
@twilightfirefly , Not buying from sears again
No problems with my Elite pair. 10 years plus of perfect service. Maybe it’s your service guy who can’t find the problem.
@JSneaker is basically a F&P? . i have worked on 10,000 washers and the F&P and this machine only have 1 thing in common and thats the ingenious direct drive motor that runs silently, other then that... there are absolutely no similarity's
Im with you junk...to many problems wish I did my research first.
I have the same exact machine and the same exact problem.....sucks to be us :)
@TheBriongonz yes you are completely right...that's what I did...these people DO NOT KNOW THE MAGIC OF THE MASTER PROTECTION AGREEMENT!!!
Sledge hammer please !
Does the dryer have a glass door or not?
NO IT DOES NOT
XJAKE1 yes it does
mine just pumping water non stop
amen to that
Kenmore Oasis HE 27082 Top Load Washer -- I had to PAY to fix the sensor (F51 error) at least 4 times. It is doing it again today. SEARS knew this was a flaw, their techs see this about 5x per week. SEARS you are in for a lawsuit.
F1 is an error code, not a random display.
I have this washer , and I have the same problem...
Send me the washplate and cap will ya
@Akileze In the scap yard now
