It is also a huge hint that he really despised Victor. he was really soft with Elizabeth and had some sort of respect towards the doctor, but he seemed to be aware that Victor also had a thing for Elizabeth so he held a very strong hatred towards him until he came to his senses and realize that if anything were to happen to him, Victor was the most trusted to take care of Elizabeth.

Frankenstein is the first film of Universal’s monster movies that got me into the horror genre. Boris Karloff’s performance as Frankenstein’s Monster was one for the ages. His performances as the Monster in Bride of Frankenstein and Son of Frankenstein were awesome as well. Karloff should’ve won (or at least have been nominated) for an Academy Award for his performance

I used to pretend the Frankenstein Monster was a substitute for my father, after my parents divorced. He was very tall and strong and I adored him but I only saw him 2-3 times a year. So ironic. Feminism created this which was once simply about men wanting to make life without women mucking things up. Frankenstein's moral lesson was about forgetting our biological origins.

Starting with Son of Frankenstein the machines they used to revive the monster were adequate but nothing like Henry Frankenstein's especially the kites in Bride of Frankenstein.

Kudos to Kenneth Strickfadden, a carnival electrician, who was contracted out to create the electrical gadgets. After the film, since he then owned all of the gadgets, he trucked them all home and stored them in his garage. Each time Universal needed them, he would take his "stuff" back to the lot for the next film. I heard that Karloff was afraid to lay on the table under the Jacobs Ladders and such, so that Strickfaden, himself, was the person on the table (when it wasn't just a prop body). Mel Brooks was the last to use the equipment, bringing Strickfaden out of retirement (he still had all of the stuff in his garage) for his film, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN - and, I believe, gave Strickfaden credit for the first time.

This is still my favorite scene out of the film. Mainly because Frankenstein gives Murphy's Law the finger and PROVES to them it can be done despite them being naysayers. The discussion he has with his teacher after is even better. At least Dr. Waldman admits that even though the experiment created a monster, his student proved nonetheless that it could be done and that there was potential here.
